last time 1997-98 i remember i always go petrol station to pick up CC receipts for pornsite register trial. No charges to the card, but the site's name will appear on the statement.
That time it was full CC number disclosed. After awhile they started to mask it with xxxx-xxxx sad.gif

"With Maybankard 2 American Express, I will get 5X Treats Points points everyday at all Petrol Stations but Petronas generally don't accept Amex. The 5X TP is equivalent to about 2.5% cash back in terms of voucher. Therefore adding this 2.5% with Esso Smiles points, I'll get 4% cash back. So you can see that OCBC + Smiles Card combination is better on weekdays. "

If I used this card to pump diesel or petrol at Esso, I will receive more TP? Only interested in TP since can change for cool gadgets. Currently using the Maybank 2 VISA for fuel at Petronas.

Yes. For MBB2 Amex, the TP point will be 5X everyday without cap. You will earn additional 5% cash back if you use it during weekend, cap at RM50 per month.

MBB 2 Visa also earns 1x TP at ALL petrol stations. IF you really can only pump at Petronas, better get some other cards like MBB PEtronas and earn 5XTP ot CIMB Petronas and earn 2% cash back.

CIMB Petronas earns you 2% cash back at Petronas and on every 1st of the month 5%. Should have added this to 1st post. But I did mentioned thisin my article Best Credit Card for Petrol and Movies.

So compare it with MBB Petronas 5X TP which works out to be about 2.5% returns based on voucher.

So, I guess not much difference if purely for petrol. Get the card that is convenient for you to make payment.

To decide which card to get, check out MBB and CIMB promotions at their website to see if any frequent any of the merchants that offer discount with the cards.

I would say this - MBB card good if you use the card for overseas transactions as the conversion rate is lowest and many shop offering installment plans with it.
CIMB have many promotions periodically. Click here to see some of them.

not maybe, but definately must! brows.gif

since uob give 5% cashback on all petrol + 2% cashback at bhp, i just use bhp.
plus, got 1 bhp station at kajang, will give extra rewards points!
the station need to swipe inside, the pump machine dont have credit card terminal.

what i get is, pump rm30, the rewards card (i'm using genting), the attendance swipe for 40 or 45 points.
pump rm60, get 80 or 85 or 90 points.
pump rm90, got 100 or 110 points.

btw i pump in block of rm30 to enter their contest biggrin.gif

Added on September 29, 2011, 11:47 pmoh, and 1st saturday of the month, definately ambank @ caltex is the best! 25% cashback rclxm9.gif

I received a promotion SMS from Esso. It sounds like this:

"Get 500 bonus smiles points with minimum RM500 spent on Synergy petrol from 14Oct-12Dec using Smiles card (no. XXXXXXX). T&C apply. For info: 1300-880-323".

Good deal.smile.gif

Hi guys, is there any petrol station that allows you to input amount to pump and stops automatically?

I use Caltex and the process is manual (insert card > wait for verifcation > remove card > lift nozzle and pump > put back and receive receipt). Usually exceed the amount I required by few cents. Or am I doing it wrong?

Hmm, that's weird. I once asked a Petronas station attendant if can set an amount, he said not available and asked me to pay at counter instead.

yesterday I refilled petrol at Caltex Seremban. The attendant managed to pre-set the amount at RM50 because the pump stopped at RM50 exactly.
