another Affin rep called again to approve my card by today. so, i took this opportunity to ask few questions:

1) cashback is based on statement cycle. for this card, currently it's fixed at 16th of the month.

2) cashback determine from transaction description "bhpetrol". not by MCC. hence, transaction at petrol island pump and service station are also eligible.

3) cashback not limited to terminal used by the outlet. she said this was not stated in the T&C, but i told her it is stated as "affinbank terminal" in the T&C. she reassured cashback doesnt detect terminal type when calculating the cashback. hmm.gif she said all terminals used by bhp in selangor/kl uses affin terminal. but i told her petrol owner may use different terminals anyway, we cannot control that.

4) about impending rm25 SST/card, she said during pre-GST time, Affin was quite lenient in waiving the GST (govt svc tax) without much issue. she was quite sure affin would still waive the sst easily later as well.

5) reasons for the delay because they received sudden surge of application in short period of time. Affin never encountered such surge before laugh.gif i told her this is because of the 10% petrol cashback which is attractive.

hi bro, may I know the email address that you used to cc to BNM?

Btw, what matter can actually involve BNM?

I facing really annoying problem when try to apply for CIMB Lazada Prepaid Card. Their system keep saying the information I key in for my personal detail is incorrect. Stuck at the registration page. When I email to CIMB to ask what is the solution, 1 month passed and no respond from them yet.

Can I actually involve BNM into my problem so CIMB can actually put this matter as urgency?

Regading the payment terminal in bhp:

Please be informed that Affin Bank payment terminal is available at all BHPetrol stations. You can make your payment at pump and cashier counter. Kindly inform our cashier to use Affin Bank EDC terminal if you pay at cashier counter with your AFFINBANK BHPetrol “Touch & Fuel” Mastecard Contactless.

Please take notes.

probably just try and assess how good is the card

13 Jun 2018: submitted application to affin bank branch
11 Jul 2018: recorded in the system (unbelievable)
30 Jul 2018: decided to cancel the card, wrote nasty email to affin, cc BNM
30 Jul 2018: approved & shipped out
1 Aug 2018: received card (at hometown, cant activate/try yet)

Affin staff just called me to clarify this.

She rechecked the T&C and asked their product manager to confirm. Some of the clauses in the current T&C is based on old T&C doh.gif

She reconfirmed that the 10% petrol cashback is based on description "bhpetrol", and NOT according to terminal used.

Island pumps are confirmed fully Affin terminal, which is why T&C was worded such way because they were expecting people to use the island pump instead of service station. I told her people may buy stuffs in there, of course i didnt spell out the ePay services brows.gif

waiting for your cb report soon, should be on your 16 Aug statement.


p/s: What is the full description shown for your TNG topup @ BHP?

Initially, the staff said his tnc do not have the AFFINBANK TERMINAL words.After he checked with product manager, he said his tnc is old version mega_shok.gif
The tnc uploaded at affinonline is latest version which have to perform transaction with AFFINBANK TERMINAL.
He confirmed ALL terminal @pump island is using AFFINTERMINAL.
In addition, i did email them as well. Let's wait for official black and white answer from them. rolleyes.gif

Just called Affin CS and was told that my application status is still pending mad.gif

Chronology:
6 July 2018 - Agent came to my office to collect physical signature, photocopy IC and thumbprint
7 July 2018 - Submitted all the supporting documents via email

-in between - Called CS and the agent for update. No record in the system and the agent called back to apologize

1 August 2018 - Application received by CC department for processing

The CS told me normally it will take 10-14 days before will know the status of the application

**update 20180915: Sep statement, received full cb for all petrol pumps. So, the RM20.40 cb was adjustment for the missed cb in Aug (RM200 tng reload using maybank terminal at bhp service station) **

Wow Affin bank interface really looks outdated.

How long did you wait for your card approval?

I just submitted to their branch last Wednesday.

They are so outdated until cc application have to go through branch to verify ic and cannot go through email.

good news is 10% petrol. was hoping TNG Reload also eligible.

i've also sent an email to Affin CS, asking for re-clarification if terminal used is another criteria determining cashback.

p/s: yes, interface sux. very ancient. good news is mobile app coming soon, end 2018. hopefully web internet banking portal also get updated too.
