You look at the video , he said after release af-on , the focus will locked . That why i wonder why mine cannot lock one if using af-on . but using af-l can lock focus(w/o release the button)

Maybe is the video maker mistake?

I just curious about this. I know af-on is act like half pressed shutter button but abit advanced of it.

How to use the AF-On technique in the field
To emulate single-servo mode (focus/recompose/shoot)

1.Place the active AF point on your subject
2.Press the AF-On button to acquire focus
3.Release the AF-On button to lock focus <--------i just wonder why mine af-on cannot lock focus one
4.Recompose and shoot <------ i use af-on to acquire focus edi then i release , i able to shoot (press shutter button) w/o recompose my picture. once i recompose and shoot , i cannot press shutter button. I just wonder why he said can recompose and shoot. this is my problem.

single-servo mode = AF-S.
lock focus = lock focus on the subject at a FIXED distance, if the subject moves forward or backward just slap the subject and ask him to stay still.

but subject can move left and right right?
wait i upload some photo is it called lock focus? let's say got 2 ppl in photo...then i lock focus and shift a bit...

each of us have a different type of RAW conversion because each of us take different type of photographs.
event/wedding photographers prefer lightroom 3 because of the new noise reduction that works like a charm.
some professionals perfer the aperture 3.
some will go back to capture NX (the slide thing on image is awesome)
and some prefer the capture one

I find topaz noise reduction better than LR. Own preference tho

oppss i forgot to include camera raw. lol

what i can advice is take one near to perfect shot in terms on sharpness, details and exposure.

process it in various different kind of software. don't do a lot of sharpening or adjustment in the software, just convert it to TIFF only.
open it on photoshop and see the different each image is.
