This phone should deserve more attention, very sleek looking, speedy software and pretty decent camera, but overshadowed by the lack of dual core.

but this time at least they come out with 2.3 straight.. x10 time is still 1.6 while other oledi get 2.0 or 2.1..at least not that bad.. but i think most users getting arc due to its camera, design and its screen techno...cos if compare the spec, really not as competition as other dual core phone..

i am also crazy for gadget..but not as crazy till like u ...buy and sell after few days..
..if i am u, next day u can see my head maybe seperate from my body oledi.. cos owe those old shark money no money return lol.. hopefully they will got enuff stock for arc..dun later wait till almost 2 weeks-1 month only got stock nationwide.. now wait sgs II till really lose a bit interest already..keep fly plane only and delay till so long time.. better look at other phone and enjoy first while waiting .. maybe price drop a bit only turn back to sgs II .. lol.. |

Arc got 512 Ram..300++ is the left over free ram after deduct all the usage if i not mistaken.... for normal usage should be enuff....
but i wondering 3D's 512ram sufficient or not for 3D movie or camera..or some future app which use 3D.... from wat i see the review unit, Arc camera is better compare with n8 in some situation like night time.... but n8 is better when during enuff lighting..wat really attract me is its design.. sgs II is nice too but too iphone alike.. ... anyway, only 1 week to go then i can decide arc or streak first.. wait for the comments from more ppl...are u going to attend the preview launch this week too?? |

Part 2 : recap the hardware spec and then look at customising/moving icons in the program menu before showing off the email view with preview pane, a feature unique to the Arc.

UI is very slick and smooth, no noticeable lag. Build is classy with 2 colors, silver or black like. Will come with hdmi cable and output demo on videos and games impressive.

From the hands on session just now, some of my personal findings:
- UI is surprisingly smooth, with some slight stutter once in a while, but not often enough to hamper the feel. - Timescape widget is a little laggy - HDMI mirroring! Very very little lag between display on phone vs dislay on TV. Video playback is awesome, and plays back on both screens (tv and phone), but has a very slight jerk at times. - Gallery looks very interesting. Like Xrossmedia bar style - Display is stunning. Pixels are discrenible of course, but the colours are nice, and not washed out like the Desire HD - Build quality is solid. Rear cover is just a piece of plastic, but everything fits nicely, and there is no creaking which gives it a cheap feel - Very light, and deceptively thin - Buttons have a nice click to it, but the camera two stage button i find it a tad bit hard to press When free I will upload some sample photos taken with the Xperia Arc vs Iphone 4. Haven't compared them yet on a PC so can't say which is better. Its just a pity that the Arc does not have: 1) Larger RAM 2) Larger in built storage 3) Front facing camera But other than that, i think SE might have a good top of the line phone coming out soon. It's definately in my KIV list now, along with the Incredible S, and LG Optimus 2X =D. Thanks to MobileFest for the opportunity |

I attended the preview too and the event made me have 2nd thoughts about purchasing an optimus 2x (was planning to buy on sat or sun be4 that). The aesthetic aspect of arc is really the best among the phones i have touched and seen, except perhaps for the plasticky back. |

-Battery life: After several days of use on the stock rom,
it'd say it's... not great. It'll last a full day on medium usage (I define that as browsing the web on 3G for an hour or two, some light gaming, several calls and 10-20 emails, screen at 50% brightness with medium-good reception with syncing on but no other polling apps running) but not much more than that. Still need more testing to be sure but I'm getting about 11hrs on average. Not bad for a large screen device but not spectacular. Motorola wins in this department with their huge batteries. That said, I'm sure we can get a few more hours out of it with custom roms and some tweaking. **Update: Up to 14hrs in an area with good reception with the same usage. Quite impressed. Wi-Fi-only nets slightly more battery too. i read a few comment, battery seems like not so lasting..some said even close all app, wifi, 3G , the next morning drop 3% , some say 5% .. |

That is a great price. I am guessing the price range should be around RM1900 too.
My experience says that SE centre always sell RM200-RM300 more than ori sets by other shops. |

Definitely this cam would be better than the X10's .. as the Exmor R sensor would take in more light which is good for low lighted conditions.

I am a very light user. This morning it was fully charged on GSM mode, very short calls on the day, wifi 2 hours in the morning installing apps. On wifi at night, played angry bird, on YM, surf lowyat, take pictures... still have about 1/4 or maybe slight more than 1//4 left. Not so great IMHO.
Somehow, I still prefer HTC Sense. I find it to be more user friendly. But Arc is a beauty on its own. The camera is really good. I can't take my eyes off Arc.  This post has been edited by lunar: Apr 5 2011, 09:46 PM |
