It's saddening too how Intel's HD 3000 is required minimum to run Portal 2. Still though, I doubt that Intel HD3000 is as bad as it sounds to be, have to test yourself to know

The HD3000 looks powerful on paper and in benchmarks but it's only more optimized for programs like 3D Marks and PC Marks. In real world gaming, it still lags behind discrete solutions.

Well, all new SB laptops now will at least have Intel HD3000 or even better dedicated GPUs... its good to see such a huge leap in terms of CPU/GPU

i7 is way powerful than the i5 due to it being a quad core... but whether you need it or not depends on the programs you use...
If normal office tasks, there's no real need for the extra power...
And do take note that with the i7, you'll need to compromise abit with the higher heat as well as shorter battery life

so why not to grab a powerful i7 as well.
