Yeah, appears so hehe~
Satellite L645 then  thumbup.gif
Satellite L645, i3-380M + ATI HD5650@RM1999 would be good, a balance between CPU and GPU. The remaining money should be used to extend the warranty  thumbup.gif

Curious, i scared they scam the RAMs supplied to me (since it's built-in). How to check if they're all 1333Mhz and DDR3?
*
DDR3 is a must, they can't fit other type RAM..
1333MHz would need 3rd party apps to check like CPU-Z, AIDA64, etc..

Hey guys...im a student and i would like to have a laptop with good switchable graphics (to watch HD movies occasionally) and above average audio... preferably something with a second gen i3 or i5 processor...13 to 15 inch...not too heavy <2.5kg and island keyboard... USB 3.0 will be a plus =)
budget -- 3k at most
brand -- asus, dell,hp,samsung? im open to others though

so i've looked around in lowyat and on the web and found a few that really caught my eye
1 - Asus U41SV second gen i5 but bad audio n so so graphics RM2899
2 - samsung RC410 good audio good graphics but first gen i5 RM2299
3 - Asus N53SV 2nd gen i5..not sure abt graphics n audio RM2899
4 - Asus a42 series with 2nd gen i3 or i5 RM 2699?

im kinda in love with samsung rc410...n u41...can any1 advice me on this...or give suggestions? thanks =)

U41Sv is not so so graphics, its the same level with N53Sv/A43Sv
RC410 don't have good graphic, its the worst of all those...

Below 2.5KG would restrict it to 14'' and below, and wanted with good audio, rules out of all laugh.gif

wow...thanks for the fast reply! =)
hmm icic....rc410 has the worst graphics...din see that coming....it looked pretty smooth n sharp while playing a HD vid (not sure 720p or 1080p)..and the sound system was amazing...tried it in lowyat yesterday...wayyy better than the u41 n few others that i was actually keen in. the only one that matched it's audio was the inspiron 14r.

as for the u41...i was quite taken by the design n all...but the flimsy keyboard (the whole thing sinks down when applied a little pressure) n the soft speaker was pretty much a turn off...=/ but those two negatives aside...is u41sv a good buy? performance n durability wise...=D and is samsung a good brand? or shud i go one of the asus mentioned? thanks again!

The U41Sv is heavier than the U41Jf, so we're hoping that the built would be improved this time.. Don't expect much from the speakers though, its aim at portability anyway laugh.gif
Performance-wise, the U41Sv has specs (CPU/GPU) similar to the mainstream ones... only differences being its lighter and packs a larger 8-cell battery thumbup.gif

Hello guys! smile.gif

Anyways, I need recommendation for laptop. Mainly will be using for games like League of Legends (like DOTA) and Counter-Strike 1.6.
But I will also be using it for designing using AutoCAD and of course Microsoft Office applications.

Brand: Preferably ASUS but do give other suggestions if it fits.
Budget: ~RM5000 (The lesser the better but MAX will be RM5000)
Size: Preferably ~16"

Others:

- design wise, I would definitely want it to look rugged ( like Asus VX7 tongue.gif ) just something that's stylish.
- good multitasking
- have numpad is a plus
- can watch movies in HD is a plus

Thank you all in advance smile.gif

Different in what? Performance? Price? hmm.gif
If you're talking about handling normal, everyday office tasks, even the i3 could handle them well nod.gif
How much RAM it has varies from model to model? ANd since all of the Toshiba sold here comes with 32-bit OS, it doesn't really matter if it has 4GB RAM or not since the max it can use is 3GB RAM (unless you switch to 64-bit OS, but that's another story laugh.gif )
As for warranty, Toshiba laptops come with standard 1 year international (some regional) warranty (unless its a promotional laptop). You can always extend the warranty by topping up a bit... Iirc, extending to 3 years warranty would cost you RM299

Asus N53Sn/HP Dv6 would already be (more than) enough to handle your requirements? hmm.gif
If you want stylish, perhaps wait for the upcoming Alienware M14x? But its 14 inch la hehe laugh.gif

The F60 is really outdated in terms of specs sad.gif
And its not exactly very good in terms of built (for a Qosmio)

Definitely not worth it laugh.gif
For RM3699, you get 2 fingerprint/dust-magnetic screens, outdated technology, short battery life, high heat...
You could get a normal W500 Iconia + a decent gaming laptop for your budget already laugh.gif

+100 thumbup.gif
And also the Asus Eee Pad Slide (if it comes)~
Same amount of fanciness, but half the price laugh.gif
