In the Product Disclosure Sheet it is already mentioned that the GST of M2Amex is waived by the bank.

But M2 Visa will still be charged with GST. So don't get too excited.

Yes, that happen to your AMEX account transaction history.
If you check your VISA / MASTER transaction history, the ST was charged.

hi i am new to credit cards and kinda interested in this maybank2card .
1. may i know if AMEX card is widely usable or its use is fairly limited? (supermarket, restaraunt etc). Can we check where is this card accepted?

2. While alot of ppl said that Mastercard or visa card is a matter of preference, any one of you mind to share which might be better to get?

3. As far as i know we can do withdrawal with credit card via ATM, can we ask the bank to disable this or reduce the limits?(incase if being held at knife point can reduce the money lost from withdrawal using credit card)

if you can qualify for the MBB 2, just apply for it. If AMex cannot be used, you still got the Visa or MC. If you are in KL and do shop during the Mega Sale and year end festivals, MC do have promotion. Click below link to read my review on MBB Dua.

I have already read that entry, that is why i am thinking of getting MBB2 after reading your review. your blog have been helpful for ppl new to credit card like me smile.gif i think i meet the requirement for the MBB2 Gold ,but so far i only have 1 payslip since i just started working. So MC is better since it got promotion?if so,than i will wait till the MBB2 MC is available before applying.

about the supp card for MBB2, will it be 2 supp cards or will it be only one(either AMEX or Visa/MC)? and how much to pay for GST for supp card rm25 for 2?or rm25x2 =rm50 for 2? i am thinking of getting supp card for my parent since they do most of the grocery shopping, can earn more points tongue.gif .

Supplementary cards of Maybankard 2 come as a pair of amex+visa/mc as well, however, you need to bear RM25 for EACH card, ie. RM50 for the pair.
No, you can't apply for only Amex supp card. It must come along with either a VISA or Mastercard.

I'm afraid one month's payslip is not likely to make application successful. Maybe you should apply at a later time when you have three months payslip.

In the product disclosure, it is stated that"
QUOTE
Overseas transaction conversion fee for Maybankard 2 American Express Cards: Conversion factor of 2.5% to the converted amount. A charge that is made in foreign currencies other than U.S. Dollars will, when the conversion is done by American Express, be converted into U.S. Dollars before being converted into your billing currency.

when you guys mentioned the conversion rate for the other cards, is the 2.5% interest already taken into factor? I wonder if all cards imposed this conversion fee? hmm.gif
