man~ after i follow the step at comment 731, my SD turn to Bad Disk. now i dun have SD card.
*
1) it shows on Partition Wizard as 'Bad Disk' , right? Don't worry.

Step 1 - Close the Partition wizard and take out your sd card.

Step 2 - Connect back your card reader (with the sd card inserted) and re-open the Partition Wizard. You should see the partitioned size.

That means it's ok already. If still shows as BAD DISK, then proceed to Step 3

Step 3 - Close the Partition Wizard.

Step 4 - Use your computer to format the disk.

Step 5 - Then open back the partition wizard. You should see the partitioned size again.

Sorry to hear that. Why not try Mini Tools recovery Wizard?

Maybe it can recover back your SD card .

Making Link2SD work on Galaxy 5 (Eclair 2.1)

Get Root, install Link2SD and follow the instructions/requirements
Run Link2SD so that it creates the startup scripts

After this is where we reboot but Link2SD still doesn't work

Method 1

1. Install Root Explorer
Its not free but you can find it floating around.
2. Open root explorer and go to /etc folder
3. Tap the 'Mount R/W' button on the top right.
4. Find 'install-recovery.sh'. Tap and hold the file until the options menu appears. Select 'Open in Text Editor'

CODE
#!/system/bin/sh
#added by link2sd
sleep 2
mount -t ext2 ......
........

5. Change line 3 which reads 'sleep 2' to 'sleep 10' or more like 'sleep 20' if it doesn't work
6. Save changes and reboot

Method 2

1. Open Terminal Emulator and type

CODE
$ su
# mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system

2. Use a file manager like ES File Explorer to open /etc/install-recovery.sh and edit it like steps 4,5 & 6 from Method 1

3. Undo the changes we did to file permissions in terminal emulator

CODE
$ su
# mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system

*
i tried method 1 but still cant la.. dush. am i a super noob?? adesh~

Aiyyooo...4-6 minutes have passed.

Is it normal to take up so much time??

Do you extract the boot-img file? Because if i didnt, Odin will crash/force closed.

wtf . on G5. root wont brick phone!. . its just mod some file system for user to gain superuser permission.. that y when we reflash, we need to root again because the modded file has been replace. so if anything bad happen just reflash. it wont make your phone malfunction.

Added on April 19, 2011, 11:04 pm
root is for claim your right. its your phone. so you need to get total control. if you just some normal user using phone just to sms/call n play game. u dont need to root. root for advance user only. happy.gif

using other rom from motafoca make phone speed up 400%, battery last longer.

I'm also curious, why people change their engine to high performance engine on their car.. Why don't they use stock engine? What are the advantages? tongue.gif

The metafoca rom more faster than the stock rom and more smoother. And the battery usage is longer than the stock rom. We don force you to flash to other rom. You can keep your existing rom without upgrade. biggrin.gif

We like to custom our phone to the limits because we are die hard G5 user. flex.gif

thanks guys for your help. I think i'm going to used Link2sd rather than MAD Apps2SD.  Done partitioning my SD. 1st part is FAT32 and 2nd is EXT2. No Swap. Done.

Now, can someone guide me how to flash the compass fix? Its been almost 15 minutes and Odin just stuck at <1> Setup connection.

What I have done

1.I've downloaded the tweak : boot-img-test6.tar (in RAR format).
2. I've extract the files and it became boot-img-test6 (in TAR format)
3. Open Odin.
Select the
OPS file : EUROPA_I5508_v1.0.ops
BOOT  : boot-img-test6.tar
One Package : I5500-MOTAFOCA-2.0.9.tar.md5

after clicking the start button, its stuck at <1> setup connection.

what am i doing wrong??
*
u just used the boot -img-test6 tar as one package... dont put in at boot.....the flash as usual.....
