Hello mr azari.
Ive been a fan of your thread since my spm days. Now this coming september 2016 i'll be in my final year for BSc architecture (part I) UiTM Seri Iskandar. Firstly, i wanna thank u so much for dedicating this thread for those who want to dedicate their life to a life of torture.
As u mentioned, Part 1 graduates must go through a compulsory 6 months period of working experience in an architectural firm to further pursue Part 2. Say i end my final year in July 2017, then i start working in the industry in August 2017, so 6 months including August 2017 till end of January 2018;
is it possible for me to enrol for Master course (Part II) in any public uni for the March 2018 intake ?
Also, what if i start working in September 2017 and 6 months after that would be February 2018, would it still be possible?
Ive heard that like it or not Part 1 graduates have to wait atleast 1 year because they wouldnt make it in time to enrol for a March intake. This is due to graduates having to wait for their universities to issue out their transcripts(?) or something like that which would require alot of waiting. Or was it because the application for the March intake would be closed before theyve finish their 6 months working in the industry? Im not sure but i know its something technical.
As u can see, i dont feel like i wanna wait for 1 year to pursue my Part II unless there isnt any other choice. Can u confirm this?
Also, i heard from a friend of mine which he said one of the staff in the firm hes working for only worked for 6 months then immediately enrolled for Part II course in UiTM Shah Alam. This enhances the confusion in my head
hello there. these are very technical questions, where it could vary between the schools. but i'll try my best to explain.Ive been a fan of your thread since my spm days. 1. yes, it is possible to join M.Arch by feb 2018 if u finish everything by july 2017. however, u need to time everything perfectly.
2. the working requirement can be fulfilled at the point of registration, not application. meaning, if u wanna apply for feb 2018, u can start applying right after u finished in july 2017. then u can go and work for 6 months. by the time u are ready for registration, u've completed the 6 months requirement. so far, i havent seen any school pun the 6 months working requirement as a pre-requisite for application.
3. the issue about transcripts is a tricky one. all universities require those if u wanna apply to their M.Arch. so this is one requirement that has to be fulfilled during application. if u're applying to the same university (say, UiTM sri iskandar to UiTM puncak alam for example), u can negotiate with the school as both will have a record of u and ur studies. u might be able to delay or even skip the transcript requirement.
but for other schools, i'm afraid u'd have to wait for the transcript to be released before u can apply.
* * *
bottom line is: start working right after u finish, and immediately apply when u get ur transcript.
