RM5/90 days was too good to be true for light users

but Maxis should have kept at least a short grace period, because users are expecting it from past experience

I think there are still a lots of shop still selling Hotlink Plan 1.0,may be you can try to get 1 ?

Version 1.0 comes with 2pcs of physical hot ticket coupons in the starter pack. Version 2 i think no hot ticket inside the starter pack. But i not 100% sure can register into 1.0 or not la.

dgboy..admire your worked to confront this Maxsux. congrats rclxms.gif

all in all, it is their business. when they said have changed plan 2.0, i was WTF!

as i read ur post, sumthing fishy bout them are
"why the hell they can't change our plan when you need Maxis365 rite??
as long as we paid what we need, it is our choice to choose whatever plans, am i rite?

so i suggest u to report SKMM and point this "locked privilege plan on our number"

i myself feel maxis365 far more suitable my usage but but they not allow it! fek u maxis vmad.gif

I am using the 500mb ip plan the only explanation for this is you already exceed your 500mb limit.

They revert back to old system are due to may be 2 problem:-
1) Many bloody users actually use it until 89th day and on the 90th day forgot to top up then the number is gone. Too many people complains.
2) This bloody Maxis see their competitors like Celcom and Digi never come out a plan than counter this Rm5/90days plan, they(maxis) felt stupid by killing their own ARPU so the revert back the short Validity system.

so no more this plan ?

i thought wanna port in all my digi numbers to hotlink .

yes, i think that's right

for plan 2.0, the Hot Ticket is like a virtual one

you have to topup RM10 within 7 days of activation before they credit the ticket to your account

still, knowing Maxis, i'd expect activating even the "old" simpack now may default to the new plan

thank you very much for your kind words of support

my viewpoint is this

when someone like me who carefully read and study all the fine prints

and still gets tricked into switching to the new plan

then, what hope for the average casual user who won't check all those details

they gonna assume "upgrade" the plan means will get something better

honestly, the Maxis got two hands

one hand in front, waving a big bag of candies (hot tickets, freebies, whatever)

and another hand behind with a dagger

the candies are front page news on the website

but the dagger not even mentioned in the small print

Yes no more rm5 for 90days plan anymore. Don't ever get their trick to port it to maxis. Unless you like those short validity period hot ticket system la with no unused balance carry forward system.

Can someone confirm if the following is accurate?

------------------------------------------------------

New Hotlink Plan v1.0
- minimum topup RM5 gives 90 days validity
- no grace period
- number gets automatically cancelled after 90 days
- you'll never be able to get that same number back no matter how hard you beg or how badly you threaten Maxis

New Hotlink Plan v2.0
- minimum topup RM5
- each ringgit topup gives 1 day validity (eg. RM60 --> 60 days validity, RM30 - 30 days validity)
- grace period of 50 days after line deactivation
- no outgoing calls and SMS during grace period
- can still receive calls and SMS during grace period
- number gets automatically cancelled after 50 days grace period

Thanks! smile.gif

yep i think you made a good summary there
it's too bad maxis didn't bother to do this too instead of just comparing 2.0 with other telco plans
my line now under 2.0 and showing the 50 days cancellation date

[WTA - problem]

I have backup phone with a Maxis Prepaid SIM which is turned off most of the time (lazy to recharge all the time).
Today I booted up the phone and connected succesfully with the Maxis network.
However some minutes later I see the message "Inactive SIM"
If I restart the phone, it works again for a while.
During the working period, I can make calls and receive calls.
But after a while I get the "Inactive SIM" message again.
Signal strength is full five bars.

Can anyone explain my problem?

Inactive SIM normally means your line has been terminated. In that case your phone would not register with maxis network at all, so in your case of intermittent connection it sounds more like a problem on maxis side. Better you contact maxis to resolve this. When did you last top up and which hotlink plan are you on? The latest plans expire more quickly than the old ones so you need to be careful if you do not top up regularly.

I got one of the Maxis Prepaid package with the 3 month validity.
I checked *122# and it says validity ends 5/10/2011.
