1 question guys..

let say i want to change to postpaid..rm50 plan...

and my current prepaid still got balance for example rm300...

what will happen to this credit?

forfeit or they change to postpaid minutes or what so ever?

and how they calculate my bill later then?if this the options they opted

will not be forfeit. credit balance will be transfered as a negative figure.

I wonder when will Maxis/Hotlink introduce an unlimited mobile internet plan like UMobile. Data is stupidly expensive on Maxis/Hotlink, yet they don't offer unlimited. I seriously don't mind being throttled when past my allocated quota. 10 sen per KB is insanely expensive.

Since it is good money for them, I think they will never stop this data policy anywhere near the future.

Anyway, for prepaid users, we can check our usage anytime thru EasyMenu, way safer than those on postpaid.

there are still many hotlink plan versions, and each have different features

dial *100*8*5# to get your plan name

if it is Basic or Extra, you could use Hotlink 365 to get a year's validity but the latest plans do not allow that

The newer hotlink plan does not have 365.

You can always port to Digi or Celcom and subscribe to their 2 years validity plan. If I am not mistaken it's about RM50 for 2 years Xpax.

You got to retain your number for 2 years.

How often will you come back to Malaysia? If it's for very long time then port it to Digi and subscribe 1 year validity period which is Rm30.

agreed, i think DiGi is the simplest one-year plan

Hotlink (and maybe XpaX too?) has a topup requirement of RM30 in the first 6 months, in addition to the fee for the service

you can always port back to maxis when you returned to Malaysia

like many i also switched to the new hotlink plan in august, thinking i'd get 90 days for RM5 topup

after that, maxis would not allow me to switch back the plan

so i'm letting my number go

the 50 days grace period expired fri 28 october

now waiting to be terminated

maxis made no effort whatsoever to retain me as a customer

however, so many users are caught out with their trickery and misleading info on the hotlink website, that i believe sooner or later they will have to change things for the better on validity

Press star122# what it's written on your phone. If really number is gone then you can't port to other network.

my service cancellation date was 28 October 2011

after that, i could no longer retrieve balance under *122# and instead you get a message that service not available and ask you to call the 1300 number

currently, i can still receive calls and sms though..
