I'm currently using Maxis Hotlink. Rarely make calls or SMS, but I do use the RM68 500MB package. I'm not interested in getting a new phone.

Is there any advantage for me to switch to postpaid?

Cheapest plan for postpaid is value first which you have to pay RM30 commitment fees per month for calls and sms. If you would like to add on a data plan, which 500mb will cost RM58 cheaper by RM10 compared to prepaid. I see no point of you changing to postpaid as you make such less calls or SMS.

Has anybody tested the 50 days grace period yet? we know maxis sometimes can be unreliable.  doh.gif

confirmed

my validity expired 08.09.2011

now my hp shows Service Cancellation Date : 28.10.2011

but call 122 to check balance, the system still says got 90 days, not 50 days (this is just Maxis not updating system for sure)

You don't need to convert to postpaid. There are a few choices of BIS plans on hotlink prepaid. Check it under EasyMenu , *100# , choose 7 , then go under Blackberry services.

This is about the New Hotlink Plan, which I found out the hard way no longer gets 90 days validity for minimum RM5 topup. I asked Maxis if they could switch me back to my previous Basic plan, which I used with Hotlink 365 the last 2 or 3 years. They just replied no today. Here is my last chance email to Maxis tonight. A company as big and profitable as Maxis should behave responsibly by posting accurate, up-to-date, clear, complete and informative content on their website so users are not misled.

Thank you for your reply. Before I make a final decision on whether to continue with Hotlink after being a loyal customer since 24 December 2005, please be so kind as to inform me what validity period the new Hotlink plan will get if I top up the following amounts?

RM5

RM10

RM30

RM60

RM100

Please also advise where such information can be found on your website, which as per my original email last month suggests RM5 for 90 days. Once again, I wish to point out that the misleading information has lead me to switch to a plan that is unsuitable for my needs. I am fully aware the rules say you cannot switch back to previous plan later. That is why studied your website so carefully before making my choice.

A reply via email would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Agreed that can be effective, and SKMM do not need to do anything as the telco will act once you copy your complaint to them. Anyhow, I give Maxis one last chance. In my experience, with Maxis, it normally takes about three rounds before our complaint goes higher up and then you get a better answer.

because their website totally fails to mention that RM5 has gone from buying 90 days back to a miserable 5 days validity between Hotlink Plan (1.0) and New Hotlink Plan (2.0)

They revert back to old system are due to may be 2 problem:-
1) Many bloody users actually use it until 89th day and on the 90th day forgot to top up then the number is gone. Too many people complains.
2) This bloody Maxis see their competitors like Celcom and Digi never come out a plan than counter this Rm5/90days plan, they(maxis) felt stupid by killing their own ARPU so the revert back the short Validity system.

RM5/90 days was too good to be true for light users

but Maxis should have kept at least a short grace period, because users are expecting it from past experience
