have to burn in or not???? I think you use the wrong word or you don't understand...

the correct word is:
have to break in or not??????
If your plasma have burn in mark meaning your plasma panel have problem already....

Hi all,

I just bought TH-P42GT20K today, will deliver to me tomorrow (11th June).
It was a "bundle" with Blu-ray player package, but I only want the TV, so the sales person check and check and check then sell me at RM3,000 and said I will not find any better price than this!?!? blink.gif
and... he insist me to pay by cash... laugh.gif

Only come with 1 pair of 3D Glass, additional glass cost RM599 which is very "painful" to me... cry.gif

No more other freebies, no free 3D Blu-ray disc... nothing!

One thing I want to ask, how you buddies judge which model is good?
I saw a lot of forumers here recommend "V" series, but what make this "V" series so interesting?
Which spec. are you looking at that make it the most recommended model?
Are you looking at the contrast ratio? Or is it the NeoPDP panel?

Thanks! smile.gif

For Panasonic Plasma.
I think high end model example V series, the price dropped very fast compared with medium end model, X series and U series...

example only : 42V vs 42G Of cause I'll pick 42G. 42G have Infinite Black Pro with Dynamic Contrast, 3D and THX certified unlike 42V doesn't have.

That 1 pair of 3D Glass I meant was 1 pce... maybe there are left and right lens so they called it in pair? tongue.gif
Because of the high price (RM599), I only bought 1 extra pair at the moment... blush.gif

I don't think Asia GT20K will have THX and Infinite Black Pro.

It's the same panel as our V20K i.e. only Infinite Black without the Pro and True Cinema instead of THX.

Look at the specifications instead of the main page marketing blurb.

If require THX and Infinite Black Pro, only the flagship VT will have them.

this is very good price with 4 pairs of 3D glasses, which shop is offering this?

there is an advertisement of 50VT20k by panasonic offering 4 pairs of glasses

btw as for break-in, if your intention is to calibrate your panel, it is advisable to break-in for 200 hours before doing the calibration so that all the phosphor inside the plasma cells are aged evenly, and the parameters will not drift after calibration. If parameters drifted after calibration, you will have to redo the calibration again wasting effort and money

Hi Mickey C, as I said above, this model does not have THX Mode, but the display panel is THX Certified.
Please take note of Mode vs. Certified and you will not be confuse on this anymore. smile.gif

THX Mode is something like Vivid Mode, Cinema Mode etc... it's about picture quality settings. smile.gif

I find that this year is a bad year to buy Plasma or LED tvs.. I bought a P50V20k last year for 4900 and now i'm unable to get a plasma tv of that spec within the same price range. Same with samsung.. it's like they've decided to shift the whole product range lower and introduce newer models that are just about equivalent to previous year model's functionality.

Should've bought 2 sets of the p50v20k and kept one for my new apartment... zzz

bro, care to share what's the difference actually? smile.gif
