hey me again, newbie of SGSL...

I just wanna know that if I disable data packet, then will I able to receive MMS?

because so far I can't receive my friend's mms as in the messaging there, it shows downloading and nothing shows up.

and I checked the APN setting, I have 3
Maxis 3G internet
Maxis WAP
Maxis MMS

and only 3G internet and Wap is selectable, Maxis MMS setting is just lying there without a button to be selected.

what's wrong here?
appreciate for help =D

if u disable the data packet u wont be able to receive mms or connect to the internet via gprs..
as for me im a celcom user that use 3g combo which only use 1 apn setting for all mms and internet..
when my friend sending me a mms i just simply switch the data packet on and switch it off when not in use so my credit wont get deducted..

well, I received the message of the MMS (it shows downloading) and nothing was downloaded, then I switched on the Data packet and it starts to deduct my credit, but nothing was downloaded as well, I selected the internet+mms APN setting as default but seems nothing works, btw the internet is working as facebook apps get the new notifications soon after I switched on data packet...

it may take some times for the mms to be downloaded depending on the size...
but if it takes longer than 10 minutes....u might want to check your setting ...im not familiar with maxis setting..

For those having force close with papago x5, I have a potential solution.
Use x5 thai version which officially supports froyo.
I faced with constant force close when having voice navi previously.

What do you mean thai version? Means the language is in thai? Is there any other options?

Initially everything is in thai, yes.then u can switch after the first time use. It needs u to be a little familiar with the program to recognise the function to chg language just cognitively.
Another option maybe to try Hong Kong version which is either Chinese or English by default. The benefit of thai version is landscape mode support! I'll post pictures later.

(With my old Ace S5830 I did not encounter any issue with x5 Malaysia version.)

I'm not encourage anyone to flash xxkpe, yes its not official too but fyi this fw is truly near perfect..btw i'm too have several issues with kernel panic but its very rare actually wink.gif most noticeable fixes in xxkpe is faster gps lock, slightly battery improve, fast phone reaction, extra ram(now 487mb), some game play more smoothly, various format video play(still have mkv issue), enhanced sound n etc. Just check xda forum for more info ok..for updating fw through kies when official release, i think we should wait more time because samsung update fw according to region..first maybe europe, asia n so on..

Nice and clear clarification.
+1 for the XXKPE firmware, I'm not encouraging too, but for those who are eager for GB, I think this should satisfy the needs at the moment.

How many times did you flash it?
It is advisable to flash it 2 times in order to get all the things work well (wifi, camera, etc).

Try flashing it again.
You should have a working camera after that.
