i frequently check the updates each time im online...just now iv checked and still has no firmware updates..
and im done with flashing custom roms that are not officially launch from samsung as it does not do any improvement except bugs and it keeps shutting down....and i have tried many leaked versions but all of them are not stable yet..
i hope the reason im not getting any updates is not because iv flashed my rom before..
hopefully ill have my updates soon...

then i check the kernel version at About Phone,
it says 2.6.32.9 root@SE-S604#1
does it mean it have been root??
coz i never ask the guy at the shop to root my phone

Mine using fw GB I9003 XXKPE, performance is far better than froyo and rockstable, already rooted but its not official version yet

any of you having problems after going to GB XXKPE whereby the camera will stop working after snapping a pic or 2 or swapping between front and rear cam...

can't seem to fix the problem irregardless downgrading back to XXKB3 or DXKB2

edit: problem seems to be fixed after second reflash on XXKPE...problem still existed when reflashing on DXKB2...

Juz tested the probs, yes camera seems lil bit lag after 2 snap but still acceptable, n camera switch works perfect :-) hopes there will be small fixes in next official sammy release

as far as i know....there is no official GB for sl I9003 yet...
and official GB can only be updated thru kies...

having the root word in your kernal dosent mean its rooted lah Root means having superuser installed in your phone.

If you mean official update by kies you have to slowly wait...the latest release which is XXXKPE is an official ROM in korea...and it will be reognized by kies as a KOREAN GB

Firmware I9003 XXKPE is not official yet..coz it only leaked by Samfirmware and flashed using ODIN..btw if official release from Samsung, it will be available through KIES..and we also can expect the several leaks in incoming days as mentioned by Samfirmware on Twitter..but the official GB one expected in September..XXKPE is far better from XXKP9 (less major bugs, battery improvement, wifi-camera working) and maybe it juz a single step from official one. hooray!

flash yesterday morning.. so far so good for me..

sorry to say that the junior members answers questions correctly than seniors.

how can u say it's official in korea and then later says it's not official (by stating"and it will be reognized by kies as a KOREAN GB")???

it is NOT even an official ROM in Korea. If it is then it will not be buggy.

thanks for ur reply. the problem is half of the people owing a samsung phone, they cannot connect thru kies. i am one of them. been trying here and there but with no luck and gave up. i google and found so many people stuck at kies.

i know the official takes time but having to upgrade every now and then over unofficial ROM is just a waste of time for me.
