Go apn there delete maxis wap n maxis mms,just left the maxis 3g internet.go into it,set APN type to 'mms' only,not 'internet+mms' or 'internet'.then tick ur packet data.after sending n receiving the data will auto on n off.no need to monitor.
use auto mode gsm/wcdma(3G) sometime will failure sending n receiving.just change to gsm(Edge) mode,work perfectly.so far no prob for me(maxis line too).u can try it out.

when u use data(buy internet time) only u change back to 'internet+mms' n use wcdma mode(dun use auto mode,will cause line keep dc).

Auto restart on its own. First time since i got it last 2 weeks.

Is this normal?

My friend get auto restart on its own, 3 times already in the past 2 weeks.

Sorry to say that i don't use KIES, there's better software out there that does a better job than KIES(i.e. mobilego)

Oh and FYI, if you insist to stick with KIES, you have to slowly wait for the update

even though XXXKPE was leaked, it's still a working ROM from samsung and not a DEV ROM like XXXKP7/KP9

i'd suggest you visit some android development forums before you decide you want to stick with OFFICIAL or *leaked* stock roms from samfirmware

better than ranting about KIES and slow updates here.

i will wait for Kies since others are not official and are buggy as stated by people using it.

the only PROBLEM is phone cannot connect to Kies (ANY IDEA, ANYONE?) Not sure what samsung is doing. they are quite poor in s/w.

I think many people have known that KIES is quite a difficult software to deal with at times.
I assume you have tried reinstalling, still no good? And you sure you have set your phone USB mode to KIES?

As for the firmware, even if the official firmware is released in near future, I still think some people may have problem updating their firmware through KIES (download failure, no connection while downloading etc, as reported by some while upgrading their firmware before).

mine restarts auto every 2 days..as i monitored... that was on DXKB2.. now on XXKB3 ...response is faster den DXKB2, battery life slight improvement, phone doesn't lag as much and is noticeably more stable than the dreaded DXKB2 ... my DXKB2 doesn't work properly anymore after i flashed to GB XXKPE, even reflashing 3 times, after snapping 2 pics, the damn cam will stop working.. i'm okay with giving up chinese support as i can't/don't read chinese..

another bug with XXKPE is that the auto predict and auto correct keeps screwing up..for eg: once u completed typing a sentence or replying something in whatsapp, messaging, the next line when u start typing after u entered the previous line eg: how are you --> next message if i were to type something it will appear as howhow are you or etc... very very annoying bug...apart from that, everything seems to be fine...

XXKPE needs to reflashed twice to get the cam working properly...however i rather stick to XXKB3 ...its a pretty solid firmware if you ask me...XXKPE still lags time to time sometimes and it doesn't feel as fluid as KB3 despite being a GB

FINALLY, manage to get KIES working. for those who cannot get their phone connected to KIES:

1. go to control panel and remove/uninstall any old samsung PC studio
2. also uninstall any samsung driver.....related
3. uninstall and reinstall Kies
4. after install Kies, there is a new update/patch from samsung
5. once done, this shld work

Might be a while before we see any official firmware from Samsung for our phone, maybe a discrimination? Haha, they said somewhere on July but now its August, haihh

Hey guys, got few questions here. Jz got my samsung galaxy SL on fri so im quite new to it and the functions. Anyways, here goes

what can i do with the increasing ringtone volume when people calls in? couldnt find any setting that can change this.

i also had difficulties to connect to public networks. I keyed in the correct password when prompted and wifi status keeps showing "obtaining IP address" and it keeps on going forever like that. Waited for such a long time and still couldnt connect to the network.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Download the .APK file then transfer to your External SD tru USB connection or through bluetooth if you have one.

Yeahh, have to agree with you. I also only use Kies to download the drivers for my phone, huhu.

Yep, have to Odin to use CWM. Just flash the file in PDA of Odin and you are good to go. But also beware that you need to flash the right CWM with your current phone firmware.

Settings >> Sound >> Volume >> Incoming Call Volume

Don't really have any idea for the Wifi problem, sorry
