wow.  shocking.gif  I used to work as developer where my main development projects are sharepoints(2007) customization & webparts development, my salary is less than half of yours that time.  sad.gif

I am not a developer, in fact, i hate doing programming, but for administration, its still okay for me. For the salary, i believe for developer, are much more than administrator correct?

I have about 3 years in managing SharePoint, maybe that the reason the company willing to pay me that much. Don't want to be more greedy, maybe before I'm 30, i aim to earn 10k plus.

However,i need to work hard and never stop learning new stuff as it will help me to achieve that figure biggrin.gif

Everyone can work in SharePoint, the only thing you need to learn first is what is SharePoint and how it works. I have colleague who are working in network joining the SharePoint team, and the most impressive that i found is one of my colleagues who are working in CyberCafe, doing technical job ( repair PC, check network a little bit, etc) joined the SharePoint team.

And now, they improvise them self, on job training, experience with all sort of issue and troubleshoot the issue. No knowledge? google is everyone friends. biggrin.gif

depends which area. if managing the sites, i guess as long as you are tech savvy, shouldn't be much proablem with experience.
but for development like creating webparts and setting up the configurations, that'd be a totally different story. smile.gif

you're losing out a lot if your company is just using the file sharing capabilities only. hmm.gif
there are many prebuilt subsites that are very useful in corporate and individual environment. sharepoint even have project management site template ready for use with gantt charts, KPI etc. apart from that, every user can have their own blog on sharepoint itself. every user has a page, you'll need to check with the one who setup the sharepoint to know where is it located though. with that blog, you can have your own personal page. cool2.gif

when there are many information is compiled in a site, that's where customized webparts come in. you can coordinate and integrate the information that you want and display that on the landing page, and that's a good use of a sharepoint portal. but depending on the company direction for the sharepoint sites, the use might be different though...

oops, I sounded like a sharepoint sales person now... laugh.gif
just to let you know, there are cons as well. brows.gif

anyone know what is the salary range for graphic designer, art director n creative director?

I always heard from my friends, their salary is low. Even art director only earning 4k.
*
Design or Creative industry is not so good in Malaysia. I would say it depends on your age and working experience.
A good range of designs in your portfolio should get you a better salary. If you had knowledge in web design is way
much better and can get much higher salary.

If you look at jobstreet salary report for graphic designers, a clerk with spm qualification also can get that salary range.

you're in A&D industry but what kind of contracts do you get?
how big are they?
if you are handling all IT for a big contract company, you're seriously underpaid!
especially since you're supposed to be reachable 24/7 and based anywhere

edit: i gave this idiot the benefit of doubt that he's english bad and he's a small contractor for nasa
but the posters below are not so kind...tongue.gif

You do know right that in NASA, nobody is addressed as 'President' or 'Head of IT'? They are merely addressed as Director or Administrators which is the highest.

Their website has all the biographies of directors in their organization including their CIOs. So which one is you again?

8/10

everything was plausible then you have to ruin it by putting NASA and President.

An aerospace engineer in NASA earn approsimately 133k/year you IT want say 100k/month?
