Nope, the whole journey would take a few weeks right? I managed to finish Route #7, not too bad but at certain points the wind was so strong that we were freezing like hell.

Which route did you take? biggrin.gif

Also, I went to their website just now. I noticed they put up all the photos and drawings they received from the visitors. Managed to find ours. thumbup.gif

he represent KTO (korea travel organisation?) and give each of us a set of metal chopstick and spoon.... and his nickname is calvin if not mistaken...awesome guide... he know mandarin and english with korean slang hhaahaha...he is mix chinese and korean...good gag and jokes too in trip and really hardworking guide....in meal time he serve us first then he baru take his meal after that...

and 2nd awesome thing is pls take korean air for korea trip, straight go to Seoul and for that 6 hours of trip, you can play single/multiplayer tetris lol and enjoy some decent movie there haha....

i got watch 4 total decent movie during trip, ya i missed that in msia ...
the movie i watch is...
limitless, puss in boots, real steel, a big year, colombiana, any many decent movies i saw in the list...

Need to ask opinion from all sifu in here. I am planning to go to South Korea with a travel agency during this coming Spring. But instead of sticking to the travel group, I will delay my flight back to KL by four days.

What I planned to do during the four days is:

1) to see Baeknok Lake on Mt. Halla
2) to wander around Seongsan Ilchulbong area
3) to go to DMZ (not a must)

But what I worry is:
a) Since I plan to summit Mt Halla and go to Illchulbong area, is it advisable to have accommodation in Illchulbong instead of Jeju city?

b) for plan (1), I planned to hike the summit of Mt Halla via Seongpanak trail and hike down via Gwaneumsa trail. But supposedly there are no bus/taxi at Gwaneumsa trail. Any thought on this one?

four days for all of those wont be enough i think. since dmz is in the peninsula

anyway for your questions:
a) definitely
b) well usually people will go the other way around. bt if you go down gwaneumsa trail, bus or taxi is not guaranteed. for the 2nd and 4th weekend (and also some other days) there will only be 2 or 4 buses daily going there

why dont you register for those hiking packages? at least the transportation is guaranteed

Yes I would be more than willing to shelf out a few $$$ for a lil bit peace of mind. But the agency that I am going with do not have such offer. I could however hunt for whatever brochure/addvert their local hiking packages that they have but if I couldn't find any, I'm pretty much screwed up.

Trying to keep the budget down if at all possible. From what I read, renting a car for a day could cost Rm200 per day.

I was in the same dilemma as yours when I decide how to go. But considering that they don't really speak English well, and the signboard are not entirely in english I'd rather be safe than sorry and mix my travel both from agency then extend a few days for semi free-and-easy (I have the agency help me with a little bit of ground arrangement for extra fees)
