As the world's biggest and richest club, Manchester United reach a global fanbase.

Part of the attraction for fans around the world has been the football luminaries, such as George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton, who have graced the Old Trafford turf in a Manchester United shirt over the years.

Recently, Manchester United have continued to attract or develop some of the game's biggest names, with England stalwarts such as Paul Scholes and David Beckham having been regular fixtures in the Reds line-up.

The Manchester United team, past and present, reads like a who's who of world football.

It is only fitting that a great team should grace a great stadium. And with Old Trafford's recent development and the closure of Wembley, the ground is easily the largest in English football, holding in excess of 60,000 fans.

Despite this capacity, the demand to see United in action is so great that tickets are hard to come by.

But it isn't only Manchester United fans who flock to Old Trafford. The standard of the ground is such that it regularly hosts high-profile games, most notably, the Champions League Final and Great Britain rugby league games.

Rock fans have also made use of the Reds's facilities, watching a number of high-profile acts at the ground.

But it's football that will forever be synonymous with the Reds famous ground - and with good reason.

The last decade has seen Manchester United under the shrewd leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson maintain a virtual stranglehold on the Premiership crown.

Manchester United has won the league no fewer than 18 times in their history. They are also Cup Kings too, winning the FA cup 11 times, the league cup 4 times, as well as winning the European Super Cup, European Cup Winner's Cup, and 3 times being crowned European Cup champions.

Manchester United has long become a name associated with success both on and off the pitch.

As club profits continue to grow, Manchester United have become one of the richest sports clubs on the planet.

With supporters club branches on every continent, it's hard to go any where in the world and not see somebody wearing the famous red shirt of Manchester United.

QUOTE(zenix @ Nov 24 2009, 09:18 PM)
Hope Alien will sticky this info later.
Though written in 2006 so no Roy Keane yet.

Ex-United players that have moved on to become managers.

Written by Simon Stone (MARCH 22, 2006)

STEVE BRUCE (1987-1996): Took his first steps in management with Sheffield United in 1998, then swiftly moved on to Huddersfield, Wigan and Crystal Palace. Left Selhurst Park in acrimonious fashion after Birmingham targeted him as the replacement for Trevor Francis in 1991. Took Blues into the Premier League but after a heavy FA Cup defeat is struggling to keep his job.

MARTIN POWELL (1971-1983): Stylish and well-respected Scotland centre-half whose authoritative nature appeared to make him a natural for the management game. Lasted four months at Burnley.

SIR BOBBY CHARLTON (1956-1973): Arguably the finest English player of all time proved to be an unmitigated disaster as a manager. Claimed he was not given the resources to make a decent job of it at Preston but was never lured back into management following his departure after a single season.

STEVE COPPELL (1975-1983): After a knee injury cut his playing career short at just 28, Coppell turned his attention to management. Steered Crystal Palace into the FA Cup final and then third place in the old First Division - the Eagles' highest ever - the following season. It was the first of four stints in charge at Selhurst Park in a career which has seen him move to Manchester City (for only six games), Brentford and Brighton. Now at Reading and about to steer the Royals into the top flight for the first time.

PADDY CRERAND (1962-1971): A key figure in United's 1968 European Cup triumph, Crerand lasted five months at Northampton before getting the bullet and, like Charlton, never managed again.

MARK HUGHES (1983-86, 1988-95): Hughes was never tipped as a manager by Ferguson but has taken to the game with ease. Took Wales into the Euro 2004 play-offs. Took over at Blackburn shortly afterwards, steering Rovers away from danger in his first season. Currently in contention for a Champions League spot.

BRIAN KIDD (1967-1974): Another European Cup winner who proved to be a poor manager. Got itchy feet in 1998 after spending seven years as Sir Alex Ferguson's highly-rated assistant. Took command at Blackburn but dismissed six months later.

BRYAN ROBSON (1981-94): United's inspirational leader under Ron Atkinson and Ferguson. There are two schools of thought on his stint at Middlesbrough - he either spent lots and achieved little (relegation and two losing finals) or he laid the platform for the Teessiders to become an established Premiership outfit. Kept West Brom up in extraordinary fashion last year but back in trouble again this season.

GORDON STRACHAN (1984-89): Scotland international who won the FA Cup with United and the title of the pre-Premiership era with Leeds. Sacked after five years at when the Sky Blues lost top-flight status, then enjoyed success at Southampton - reaching the 2003 Cup final - before resigning to spend more time with his family. Now at Celtic, has recovered from a humiliating Champions League exit to Artmedia Bratislava, and, after winning his first trophy on Sunday in the CIS Insurance Cup, is set to clinch the Scottish Premier League.

NOBBY STILES (1960-71): Along with Charlton, one of only two Englishmen to have won the World Cup and European Cup, he replaced his former England and United team-mate at Preston, with limited success. After a brief stint in Vancouver, returned to England to take over as manager of West Brom. Sacked after five months, having gained just three wins.

Hi alien, I uploaded the Scholes Centurion video (a compilation of all 100 goals he scored throughout his career in Man United).

If it's allowed, I thought why not share with other forummers by posting the link in the first few posts. The link is : http://rapidshare.com/files/367460321/PS_Cntrn1x0.rar =)

Edit (08 Nov 2010): Looks like the link is no longer working (thx to sinoffire for notifying) so I reuploaded the video to a new link:

Lol smart, ask a random question so can be in first page tongue.gif

Ill join in :
Second half v Chelsea Fletcher didnt look very good. Quite a few misplaced crosses and passes. I feel he's been trying too hard lately to do Scholes-esque like passes, not good for his game.

actually that would describe how Carrick is.

i have been very very frustrated with his performances whenever he starts. so yes his % of passes is high, but its all short passes. not long passes. not like the ones how he used to do.

yeah he makes up for his unbelievable ball control and passing for his positioning. so far it has been this way for every starts he has been in. he somehow manages to intercepts balls, but only fails to deliver it properly.

Carrick was well known for long bomb passes even before he joined us. But thats not Fletchers game. I always cringe when i see him attempt it. But his defensive play always makes up for any offensive shortcoming

Branislav Ivanovic Admits Referee Martin Atkinson Was Wrong To Award Chelsea Penalty Against Manchester United

QUOTE
Branislav Ivanovic admits referee Martin Atkinson should not have awarded a penalty to Chelsea against Manchester United.

A challenge from Chris Smalling on Yuri Zhirkov resulted in the official pointing to the spot 10 minutes from time, with Frank Lampard scoring the winner.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson hit out at Atkinson for the decision, and could now be sanctioned by the FA as they are reported to have requested the video of his interview with MUTV.

Ivanovic was quoted by The Sun as saying: "I find the penalty for Chelsea very dubious.

"It was too easily adjudged. I have to admit that after seeing it again. I thought it was a penalty when Zhirkov fell but, afterwards, I saw it never was.

"But we were in a similar situation a couple of times this season and no one said anything."

I heard Evra is a doubt. Apparently he'll be playing though with painkillers. Or so I heard. No sos tho to confirm.

This is good news for the squad. I know he havent been performing well as of late, but for the Chelsea game, I think he is still good enough to remain

in United squad, because he is very sound defensively and breaking teams play up. But having said that, United squad is thinning in terms of

experienced and full international players, which I think United should at least find one midfielder to be that player that will always be ready for first

team, and not to "learn his trade". Gibson is still learning so he will still be an understudy for few years to be ready for United. We need to add to

United squad to be ready for other teams challenge in all fronts and not just the EPL. Unless SAF is bold enough to put Pogba or Tunnicliffe to the

first team next season drool.gif brows.gif

Carrick is better than last season, but it is still not the best of him. Fletch has been underperforming since the start.
Carrick has stopped doing the long passes, not just this season but last season oso. I iz sad. He has that in him but I dunno why he is so reluctant to do it. I hope this new contract will give him the confidence boost he needed.
Fletch on the other hand is very eager to do the long passes, but sadly tongue.gif

Carrick and Fletcher are very limited. they are certainly not creative as Scholes or Giggs. never be a goal threat. i always firm believer we need new top class AM.

but Carrick and Fletcher are essential players to protect the back 4. when they're in good form, they are very solid players for us. unfortunately, they're somewhere between mediocre and decent this season.

as midfield 2, i never expect a magic /brilliant moments from them. just hopeful the other 4 attacking players do their jobs to get a goals.

Fletcher can do long bomb passes, although half of them go haywire. But seems this season he didn't harass up opponents as often as previous seasons. Just a poor form or adjusting to a new role? hmm.gif

And finally, what everybody wants to know is how you manage to wear your socks back to front?

[laughs] Ha! I’ll be honest with you: the first time it happened was an accident. It was a new kit and I didn’t know which way I was meant to put them on. I realised I had got it wrong when I saw everybody else had the Nike tick facing the front. But then when it came to the next game, I thought: ‘No, I might wear mine like this again’. Since then it’s become something of a superstition.

From nani... anyone notice?

How do you know he won't? Sometimes action is taken but no one knows because no one mentioned anything.

As always, if you see something offensive, report the post. The mods will take appropriate action. If you see something inconsistent, PM the mods. Maybe there's a reason for it?

i don't believe it will be true. I don't think we need another striker unless Owen leave next season but Macheda are coming back to we have sufficient strikeforce there. SAF will surely strengthen the midfield next season. surely Giggs and Scholes will be unable to play week in and week out. GK area will have new face too but i'm not sure about Defence area.

by the way, Kolo Toure suspended over drugs.

It's starting to get a bit worrying whether Scholes will sign a new contract or not, but from experience, he tends to not want to discuss contracts before the season is over.

Most likely we'll see the contract extension just before or after the season ends.

Regardless, I've always been a strong advocate that we need a new creative midfielder and that some of our 2nd string just aren't cut out for the job. Unfortunately, people just brush me off and say I'm not supportive of our young players. *shrugs*

'other' team have majority of old and players.. tahts true, nothing wrong on saying that, but SAF never have said that nod.gif

yes scholes and giggs is old, but none of 'other' team majority of old players have the same magnitude of achievement and experience, in fact miles away far from it... not even close smile.gif

ps- SAF said that 'other' team have peaked players, that means players that are at the peak of their career/at the most of their full potential

I second that. biggrin.gif

We seem to be full of future plan for defenders, strikers and even goalkeeper, but not midfielder. The current bunch of the youngster we have, they just couldn't live up to the expectation of being United's core for creative play. We need that little bit of flair, like what Scholes and Giggs been doing from season to season, with all those instinctive pass, long range killer pass, a moment of genius play, etc. We need a creative attacking midfielder to help supplying balls to the strike force in future. cool.gif

Time to invest on wonderkidz again? laugh.gif

So far our young players nowhere near Scholes' level when he was a kid. Gibson is a carrick type of player. Maybe Anderson have the future to be our creative supplier. Cleverly, combative too. not that i say they weren't good except that they are not scholes type of player.

Honestly, I struggle to find anything good about Gibson to talk about and many people I know say the same. He just doesn't have any redeeming qualities besides banging the balls from range, and that's no good if you don't get a shooting chance like that.

More combative midfielders aren't a bad thing, except when we have too many of those it means we are over-reliant on our wingers to be the supply line. Look at how many of our wingers are sidelined, cases like that spell BAD.

Why is a creative midfielder crucial? We can rest Scholes more, for one, and not have to overwork him. We can play a more attacking formation, and not need to sacrifice Rooney as the forward responsible for dragging defenders out of position.

There are other things, but I'm not expert. Suffice to say, getting a new CMF can only be beneficial.

P/S: Gibson fans don't bite me please. sweat.gif

yeah. same here. the last time we signed a striker over 30s was Henrik Larrson and Teddy Sheringham but only for a small fee.

somehow i feel that this gibson's "potential" hasnt been improving at a desirable rate. Especially if compared to the likes of Rafael, or Chicharito. maybe he's a late bloomer? who knows....only SAF and the coaching staff that has the experience to anticipate these things.

i feel that too. he was explosive last year then suddenly his development stop. last season he can fill in for Fletcher but this season he's not quite a proper replacement for any of our midfielders.

Hopefully SAF prepare to spend that kind of money. i would like an attacking midfielder to track back for defending. like Modric.

If only we went for Ozil earlier in the summer, I think he only went out for like 10+million GBP or Euros to Real Madrid? That was a real bargain IMO.

Personally I prefer Sweinsteiger to Sneijder. But the problem with German players is not so much so that they can cope or not, rather it is whether they WANT to leave or not. Especially when Sweinsteiger is in a club like Bayern Munich, a club that rarely sells their best players.

eh? today masih ada trolls ke? sweat.gif

for the midfielder thing, I suppose it's only a matter of time for SAF to bring in new faces if our midfield doesn't improve..We still have one gem at Wigan, hopefully next season he can bring something different to the team..we'll just have to rely on Scholesy atm since Ando is injured(again)..make full use of what we have

ps : agree with the post regarding Gibbo, time is still on his side, for now..

I too prefer schweinsteiger and im 100% positive that SAF has the money to spend. The only problem is that i think Bayern will probably want at least 40 mil for him. On top of that, the German league is on the up now and he may even want to stay in germany.

We missed out on Ozil who has turned into a very good player but i think there was a point right after the WC when he himself said that he wants to play for RMad.

Eventhough Sneijder is class,he's mainly an AM and if we were to accommodate him in our team,we would have to sacrifice one of the defensive midfielders or a winger. Besides, the fella has turned us down a few times already..

yeah. Ozil was a bargain but unfortunately SAF might think he is not proven yet even though he had a good WC. remember a certain Karel Poborsky? he had a good Euro which lead SAF to sign him and miss out Pavel Nedved.

One of Park greatest ability was his ability to exploit and find space. Hopefully Cleverly have the same ability too.

Reina eh? he has his own glory and unglory moments but he's a decent keeper but i can't see him joining us unless suddenly Kenny Dalglish decided to go for a Scottish keeper and ship out Reina for big money.

Yeah, me hope so too but Cleverly play as a CM right?

surely Man City and Chelsea don't need a new keeper soon as they have Hart and Cech respectively. Real Madrid have Casillas and Barca have Valdes unless Barca decided to sell Valdes. AC Milan would be the most likely destination.

Park as a CM? AFAIK he was positioned there before and did relatively well. Combative enough to trackback and fight for possession, great going forward as well.

Thing is, SAF prefers his charging runs into space on the wings better. I'm sure you guys have seen how that has brought us a few crucial goals this season.

Personally I think he better suited on central role, like during PSV days. But since he can play anywhere in the midfield so I don't mind then.

If he's fit again he'll most likely play on the wing, so that SAF can put Giggs in the middle behind two strikers. This will reduce the among of running he has to do, after all Giggs is no longer 17 years old...

the price is no reflection on a player's talent, it is a reflection on how desperate that particular club wants that certain player. The main factor that influence price is of course talent, but other factors including lack of players due to injuries or being sold, or the chairman is a great admirer of the player, or he is of certain nationality etc.

For example, Andy Carroll maybe worth 18m in talent, another 10m on top for being English, and then another 7m coz Liverpool are in dire need of a striker in such short time span (where got time to haggle or withdraw Newcastle's offer etc).

My point is, while we may see Carroll's 35M price tag as gila, for Liverpool it probably is not so bad considering the surplus of cash they have, plus the desperation they need due to the 11th oclock deals. In fact to trade an off form Torres for a young english player with potential and still got 15m back, i think overall that's not a shabby deal at all.

Fletcher signs new contract

QUOTE
Darren Fletcher has signed a new four-year deal that will see the midfielder stay at Old Trafford until the end of the 2014/2015 season.

Fletcher, 27, has been with United since 2000, making his debut in March 2003. Since then he has made 288 appearances, scoring 21 goals. He has won three Barclays Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: “Darren has been at the club since he was fifteen years old. I am extremely proud that he came through the ranks of our youth academy. I am delighted Darren has signed a new contract, he has developed into a top-class midfielder.”

Darren Fletcher said: “I take great pride in playing for Manchester United, I have won many trophies in my years playing here and I am looking forward to winning many more in the seasons to come. I would like to thank everyone at the club.”

Man Utd midfielder Michael Carrick signs new contract

QUOTE
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has signed a new three-year deal keeping him at the club until the end of the 2013/14 season.

The 29-year-old joined from Tottenham in 2006 but has not been in the best form this season, although he has improved in recent games.

"I am thoroughly enjoying my time at this great club," said Carrick.

"There is a fantastic team spirit within the squad and I am pleased to have committed my future to United."

Carrick's appearance in the 2-1 loss to Chelsea on Tuesday was his 218th game for United, and he said he felt confident he could add to the three Premier League titles he has already won in his time at Old Trafford.

"We are in a very good position at the moment and I am confident this team will be successful for many years to come," he said.

Carrick joins Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra in pledging his long-term future to the club and with Paul Scholes' future still unclear and Anderson struggling with injuries, he could still have a significant role to play this season.

"I am delighted Michael has signed a new contract," said manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"He has been outstanding since joining us from Tottenham in 2006. He is a true professional and it is great he has committed his future to the club."

United eye Anderlecht teenager

QUOTE
Anderlecht have confirmed that they are in talks with Manchester United over the transfer of teenager Adnan Januzaj.

The 16-year-old winger is regarded very highly by the Brussels club but he has rejected the chance to stay in the Belgian capital.

Instead he is reported to have accepted an offer from United and the two clubs are now in talks over finalising the overall deal.

"We are in negotiations," Anderlecht general manager Herman van Holsbeeck confirmed to HNB.

"It is going in the right direction, there is no agreement yet, but I think the player will be going to Manchester."

Van Holsbeeck bemoaned the fact they could not keep hold of one of their prized young assets.

"We made a good financial offer," he continued.

"We also said he would be part of our first-team by the 2012-13 season, but Januzaj refused."

Fee

The youngster, who is of Albanian descent, was also being followed by Chelsea, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Inter Milan, but United, who have excellent links in the Benelux region, have won the race to land him.

Reports suggest they will pay Anderlecht around £500,000 for his signature, more than just a normal compensation fee.

"We are negotiating a fee higher than the compensation just for training," Van Holsbeeck confirmed.

"Have Anderlecht lost a star? Only the future will tell us. He is not ready for the first-team, but how many are at 16?

"He does have potential and he had the profile to become a good player at Anderlecht.

"But alas, we do not have that choice, his parents and those around him have decided otherwise - we can only accept it as the regulations are made this way, we are powerless."

Evans could boost United

QUOTE
Skysports.com understands Manchester United defender Jonny Evans is in contention to face Liverpool after returning to training.

Evans has been sidelined with an ankle injury for the past month and has not featured for United since the 2-1 defeat at Wolves.

However, he could give the Premier League leaders a timely boost for the game at arch-rivals Liverpool on Sunday by returning to the fold.

Speaking before last weekend's 4-0 win at Wigan Athletic, Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that Evans and Rio Ferdinand would both be available for the match at Anfield.

Those plans appeared to have changed, however, on Tuesday after captain Nemanja Vidic was sent off in the 2-1 defeat at Chelsea and will sit out the Liverpool date through suspension.

Ferguson stated that Ferdinand is out of Sunday's showdown and that Wes Brown would come into the side to partner Chris Smalling at centre-half.

But Evans' return to training this week could give the United manager further options at the back as Liverpool contemplate handing record signing Andy Carroll his debut.

Eric: United will be champions

Despite seeing United slip to defeat at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, Eric Cantona is backing his former club to win the league.

What’s more, the Frenchman, who helped inspire the Reds to six major trophies between 1992 and 1997 and has recently taken up a director of soccer role at New York Cosmos, also believes United can shine again on the European stage.

“I think United will win the league, of course,” he told reporters in Singapore. “They are a great team, have a great manager and it's a big club. I think they will win the league and they have a real chance to win the Champions League."

Cantona also shared his thoughts on United's trip to Anfield this Sunday. It's a fixture that holds particularly good memories for the Frenchman: after all, he netted a late winner against Liverpool in the 1996 FA Cup final.

"All games are very important but this one is special because it is two great clubs who have been successful in the past 20 years. It is like a derby and [Liverpool manager Kenny] Dalglish seems to be doing very well. I think it will be a great game."

I won't be so quick to write off Andy Carroll. Then again, a long time ago there was one-season wonder Kevin Philips....
*
yeah. same here. although he haven't complete a season in a premier league but he does have time and potential ahead of him. plus at club such as Liverpool, he might just even get better. he might not be as sharp as the start of the season as he just return from a long lay off but he is definitely going to be handful for our defenders.

QUOTE(pyroboy1911 @ Mar 4 2011, 06:21 PM)
the price is no reflection on a player's talent, it is a reflection on how desperate that particular club wants that certain player.

*
Yeah. agreed with u. might be a desperate buy but Carroll does look promising with only 21 of age, he got years ahead of him to develop into a world class striker and a world beater.

Regarding the Carroll thing, I only laugh at the fact his price is in par with several others high-profile players around. I mean, you mention this to someone outside BPL - Carroll who? But we will see, he definitely got talent.

*
Carrick limited? Seriously? You just started watch him play is it?

I think most of us fans are frustrated about him because we all know of his quality. Carrick was phenomenal in his first season with us. He has vision and decent shots in him. Attacking wise, he is quite great. Who could forget him and Scholes terrorizing opposition midfielders around with their combination. I'll give you a hint. 7-1 win against a certain Italian team.

On Gibson, attacking wise, I think he is good/decent but his defending acts are a bit worrying.

Fletcher, rated as one of the talented kids back then. Took his time and he was a great DM for us last season.

im not sure what every one expects from both of them.they are not the usual suspects known for goals galore but rather the one that puts in the foot in a challenge, wins possession and the hard work.so why so disappointed with them i can understand.

those 2 have been doing their job quite well this season, tho the odd 1/2 goals are missing from them.as for gibbo he still lacks the game reading skills. its like a one way street with him..less flexibility.

if anyone noticed what anderson used to do is now being done by carrick thus releasing ando to forward roles up the pitch without the need to anchor the defense.

Carrick as we all know able to operate as either DM or AM but i think he mostly play as a DM or CM. this season however, his play only limited to DM and CM. hardly going forward to take a shot at opponent's goal. maybe it's down to the instruction from the Gaffer or simply he did that to give chance for Ando/Scholes to go forward.

by the way, KD warn Fergie.

QUOTE
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has announced he will appeal against a Football Association charge of improper conduct.

The charge was announced on Thursday after Ferguson was critical of referee Martin Atkinson following his side's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils boss was unhappy with Atkinson's failure to show Chelsea defender David Luiz a second yellow card for a trip on Wayne Rooney before the visitors scored a decisive penalty and United then had Nemanja Vidic sent off.

"You want a fair referee, or a strong referee anyway - and we didn't get that," said Ferguson to MUTV in the aftermath of the game.

"I must say, when I saw who the referee was I feared it. I feared the worst."

Ferguson had until Tuesday afternoon to respond to charges but chose to do so quickly, despite the fact an unsuccessful appeal could lead to a long spell on the sidelines.

Great to see our midfielders signing extensions. As nice as it is to see them doing it,we also need to sign another new CM.
Very pleased about Fletch and Carrick extending their contracts, and now only one more guy needs to do it. The legendddddddd Scholesy!

He's doing a good job there IMHO, as a holding midfielder. Fletcher is an all-rounder while Gibbo is more like on the defensive midfielder as well. Other than Scholesly, we only have Ando to operate as AMC connecting to the forwards and providing supplies. Honestly we need a playmaker once GingerPrince retires, unless someone from the reserves who can step up and do the job. nod.gif

I wonder how long Hargreaves can do here... sad.gif

i think SAF should be looking for backup striker & midfielder from now..

if Rooney & Berba is out, then it'll be Chicarito & Owen.. OMG!
Chica is not ready yet i think & Owen is going to say goodbye soon..

as for MF, Scholes & Giggsy is aging.. better find a replacement soon..

Gibbo still can't fit with the team for me.. he plays kinda "tamak" sometimes.. shoot blindly & seldom will hits the target.. trying to be Scholesy i think?

any rumors about GK transfer? or we will be just fine with Kuszcak & Lindergaard?

Rooney definitely have what it takes to be a playmaker. he usually play behind main striker during his earlier times as Everton and us only last season SAF decided to push him further forward as main striker to bang in goals for us. On the midfielder trio of Carrick-Fletcher-Gibson, Fletcher is an industrialist type of player. running around to create space for fellow midfielder as well as distrupting the opposition coordination. he had his moment when we saw his little bit of creativity but so far it was a limited one. i'm certainly happy with Carrick signed a new contract with us but i'm not sure if we got room for another CM even though we really need one. maybe SAF ought to send Gibson and Cleverly on loan to make space for another established midfielder with Hargo might be leaving soon if the news were true.

This past few years, nike seems to be more shitty. some might love this jc if they eventually produce it. Nike is making lots of money because they have the right to put the famous Man Utd crest. But it doesn't mean that they can make shit design like this every single year. This season we have a collar shirt. Next season they remove the collar and put black strip. And next next season they remove the black strip and who know what they will add or remove next time that time.

I was really hoping for umbro or adidas. no more nike.

Thats the confirmed jersey for next season...? Sighhhh. Ive been waiting for the past 2-3 years for a nice model to buy and ive yet to be blown away with my first impressions of the new jerseys. It looks sooo plain. To me,the best looking jersey we've had in the past 3-4 years was the white and blue away AIG jersey. I really love that one. Asked my gf to find it in UK last year, she said the MU Megastore worker told her that they dont have that one anymore sad.gif

For me the best AIG shirt is during 06/07 season, both home and away.

I prefer the older jerseys than the current one right now, too bad money doesn't allow to buy it yet.

Asked my gf to find it in UK last year, she said the MU Megastore worker told her that they dont have that one anymore sad.gif

well, it is the same for Liverpool too. remember that 1-4 beating by Liverpool at Old trafford? (i'm trying not to remember). They came into that game on a back of a defeat while we came into that game with a win from the previous match. everyone thought we're going to win that match but how we're so wrong. but, that was 2 seasons ago. this time around, both Liverpool and us coming to this weekend match on a back of a defeat. hopefully we will come on top. a tough match it will be but a win i hope we will get.

well, maybe from the pirates. There's an unofficial version of Newton-Heath (Green-yellow) shirt being sold at ebay.co.uk. it was sponsored by nike and AIG. when i visited Old Trafford last year, there's one guy selling those in front of Old trafford. damn, how i regretted now that i didn't buy those shirt.

wow. so sudden. i don't know whether to believe it or not since Pastore himself said he won't be moving anywhere soon as he look to establish himself further before moving to bigger clubs. Plus Palermo chief said he reluctant to sell Pastore. He is a good and promising player. almost like Aimar and Riquelme type. if he does move to Old Trafford, i really hope he can fit quickly in English Football.

by the way, Agger, Aurelio and Meireles are back in the contention to face us. things not looking good at the moment for us.

at this point of the season in football in general, all can be dismissed as rumours.no need to believe anything.

we wont buy some one in a publicly claimed way and rarely have done so ever since weve sold ronaldo..

this

the reason they became judas because of attitude, not performance-wise. they are still performing very good at Man Utd. ketchup dude, Tevez, and maybe even Veron.

anyway, the Kolo Toure situation is kinda funny but i sympathize him. because of his wife's diet pills, he's going to be suspended from football? kinda harsh on him, coming from a devout Muslim.

Yeah my personal favourite is Veron. Pity it was not the right time to be brought into United team during that time where Keano, Scholesy, Beckham,

Butt is at the peak of their careers. I just hope we could create that midfield again. drool.gif cry.gif

exactly why i would prefer not to have another Argie. Veron is simply because he doesnt suit us, i dont think him moving to Chelsea have anything to do with wanna join rivals to spite us (i believe that is Peter Kenyon's fault tongue.gif)

Though if that Messi dude wanna come over then i can close one eye whistling.gif

now if thats the case then it is his 100% fault.come on he should know better that athlete's are not encouraged to take any normal medicine, supplement with out consulting the experts at his own club.

so i see no pity for his stupid actions imo.also i doubt it has anything to do with him being a muslim either.seriously when you have an expert from a-z at a club why on earth succumb to pills wch we all know doesnt work out.

Ok, consumption of his wife's pills answered my question, but as mentioned by mhyug, it would be his fault for taking any pill without consultation with team medic expert. So he has to be responsible for his action...

doping is very more in depth then the usual ones we normal ppl encounter.they can trace stuff at the minimals of it and for periods way longer.the body it self is like a archive.

well since their build is big they also face the same prob as us but only at a diff level biggrin.gif

were talking about being ideal here and not just looking sharp in a blazer.if us normal ppl can have their physique its like godly fit but for them(some la not all) to perform at that level they may not have the ideal weight smile.gif thus leading them to loose at targeted areas and loosing the weight and not muscle mass.

sports these days are similair to rocket science, nothing is left unstudied laugh.gif

weight problem is due to reduce in metabolism. these athletes usually MAINTAIN their food and exercise, ie. same calorie in and same calorie out. but as you age, your metabolism decline. so if others are constant, and metabolism decline, then not surprised u gain weight. Same problem goes to Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, i dont think they got fat because lazy to train, or eat more and more. simply because their metabolism drops.

about doping thingy, as unfortunate as he is, athletes are made aware of the common banned stuff, and also would be reminded not to take supplements/pills without advice. I mean if the club even have dietician to tell them what food they can or cannot eat, surely when it comes to medical issue the club would be stricter? this is why intentionally or not, it is punishable. the intentionally one probably stricter. Anyway, all these are subjective and under the discretion of the judging panels (if deemed guilty). 2 similar cases happened before, 1 got 4 weeks, the other 8 months.

Arsenal v Sunderland on now, Arsenal are really keen from the first 15 minutes. Hope our agents can do proper job...Agent Bardsley, Agent Richardson and Chief Agent Brucey. Also Agent Welbeck in the sub and Agent Frazier Campbell somewhere back in Sunderland tongue.gif

Ruud still not fat

Beck still not fat

hell, our pakcik that guard the guardpost oso still not fat(and he didn't even broke a sweat running)
*
different people different metabolism rate la doh.gif plus Ruud and Becks probably have different diet to Kolo to start with, different intensity in training, becks probably have a good figure coz very active in making kids (ady got 4 yo). Dont compare it to others, compare it within himself, the Kolo now and the Kolo 3 years ago. assuming same food and same training, the other main reason he will gain weight is drop in metabolism.

Why are we discussing weight here rclxub.gif Ive already had enough weird weight questions in the Health and fitness thread.

actually he has until 8th march to appeal so he can be at the dug out esok.its after 8th march, if there was no contesting the charge the fa will pass the verdict but since he has to wait till the hearing.

But bro wat I know is currently saf has 2 match ban on hand because of last year incident so he will miss liverpool match if he no appeal but if he appeal he can manage liverpool match and he lose in the council he will get 4-5 match ban . But if he admit guilty he will get extra 1match ban plus 2 match start from Liverpool match

that ban is a "suspended" ban.it wont come in to affect after the 8th march deadline.if they were to activate it they would have done so without giving prior time for our side to respond to the charges. smile.gif

thats why tomorrows game its ok and since he already decided to contest the charges so we now wait for a hearing date and then the result.

and also the fa is just like us, they dont work on weekends, if they were to ban him from the pool game they would have done so during the working days and not give the time buffer until 8th march.

well Sunderland did do us a HUGE favour. but then again we lost 1 point over the game 28 of both our fixture. Now we need to do our job, if we can win at Anfield the gap will be 6 points and although they have a game in hand, it will be a massive massive psychological element to it.

as for the Anfield game, awal saya cakap ha, anything can happen. win lose draw. Liverpool right now are as unpredictable as Wolves. they can go bottom, but they could actually win it somehow somewhere.

motivated by a hunger to win under Dalglish and to bounce back from their loss, gee wiz it's gonna be a hard battle, with Vidic out even.

fair dig.eye for an eye but not more not less.anyway 2moro the dips will be super charged, i dont think ref will be any trouble after a few shots from left and right.

its up to the gaffer to set our lads straight and dont do those silly mistakes or fall prey to their sides bait.we need to be firm on our attacking, defending tackling crossing/passing.no doing with out thinking.

u should have seen his 1 attempt. turned around to bring down a stray cross from waist high (ala Berba), turn around and let go a shot to the bottom corner, only to be saved by Szczeny.

Hope I can see highlight of it later on.

QUOTE(mhyug @ Mar 6 2011, 01:03 AM)
as for danny to bad he is just coming off from injury.sunderland sorely missed him in the last 4 games they lost.

Hopefully Bruce will be able to persuade SAF to let Danny go out on loan there again next season. Next season still keep Owen, and after that we should have a replacement for Berba ready when the time comes.

Brown will the key factor of the defence tomorrow.. & the weak link will be Smalling.. that's what they should be careful..

& Berba should start i think? Chica is still not ready..

if Brown plays and if his defensive duties are sloppy, hopefully he can make it up with another goal, like how he scored with his back a couple of season back tongue.gif

btw, am i mean if i am thinking that if barca beat Arsenal this midweek, they will have bad morale coz 2 lose 1 draw in their last 3 games? unsure.gif

on the other hand if Arsenal managed to overcome Barca whoa, high morale and will be back on track!

but then again there's jinx.

ok la my brain reli going nuts, gonna sleep!

That Germ is certainly starting well, an ideal mid general who can hold the ball, defend and spray passes as well. Too bad we had Carrick already. Wonder if United had signed any Germs before...

Just sharing a quote from somewhere, it was a reply to an Arsenal fan by a Liverpool fan..

"Liverpool were the same in the 80's. They had decisions go their way. It happens around big clubs. Arsenal, i am sure have had decisions go their way during the invincibles. It happens but to flag one team's misfortune as consistency and then saying the refs are cr@p when it happens to your team is two faced"

What he said is very true...

It really is true, nobody is denying it. Sorry to go back to the same issue again but it was 3 games in a row against Chel for us,and MU v Che is a huge game,so it really is disappointing when we get screwed 3 times in a row. But of course certain things go our way too.
Consistency is very important, and that is all we want from the refs.

let me just requote myself for tomorrow's match.

QUOTE(Sheep319 @ Mar 6 2011, 12:58 AM)
as for the Anfield game, awal saya cakap ha, anything can happen. win lose draw. Liverpool right now are as unpredictable as Wolves. they can go bottom, but they could actually win it somehow somewhere.

motivated by a hunger to win under Dalglish and to bounce back from their loss, gee wiz it's gonna be a hard battle, with Vidic out even.

i just have this gut feeling that he won't be a one club man.

The thing i really hate about it is how they don't even mention, let alone acknowledge their mistakes. In every other job, when you perform badly, your duty would be to apologize or at least admit the mistake, but the refs here act like kings!

WTF, go back and mind your own business lah... ref. saw the incident, awarded free kick already, FA hear and consider ref.'s report, conclude no further action needed, what else you old man at the top want?

Ask you guys to consider goal line technology also like scared technology to death; don't you see that technology can help as in NBA?

Or we might not (turning those draws into wins) as those draws against the likes of Everton & Fulham were more of defensive errors (last minute goals by opponent) than scoring goals.

Plus if CR still with us then we might not able to see Nani to play as well as he is now.

We had to go 4-5-1 cos our unproven CB partnership.. Its the right thing to do at the moment..

I just hope Dowd will be fair.. no more hanky panky refereeing.. we had seen enuff....

We tend to play 4-5-1 in big and European games but sometimes I do feel that because of this formation, we always let the opposition to run as ragged.

And again, I pity Berbatov. 3 PL games. What he has to do to start?

I am guessing Nani is more mentally injured than physically. He seems devastated at having "assisted" that second goal.
