I made a CWM package for XXJVE modem for those who may afraid that the imodem.zip is only compatible for insanity rom. I've tested it and should be compatible for all roms.

Download: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17959/XXJVE-Modem.zip

If possible, can you send me the zxjpg modem?
Anybody has any comments regarding my attempt at making the flowchart diagram? http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=40490588

You can start by flashing kernel and enable lagfix first. If you do not like lagfix, you can try 2.2.1 firmware.

for those who using XXJVE modem.. one question here..
still need to use GPS Aids or not?
*

Um, since i started to use it for the past 3 days, its very easy to get lock. less than 20sec cold start. Different location, time would result in different story. Tried it first! If still not satisfied, Gps aids always there for u.. tongue.gif

Hi guys,
my phone currentlt is

PDA : I9000DXJPE
PHONE : I9000DXJPB
CSC : I9000OLBJPA
Build Info : 2010,12

So do i need to update? Is it still latest?
*
It is the latest for Malaysia (Asian region). The latest production version is 2.2.1 which is XWJS5 from Europe.

It is certainly faster than DXJPE.

hi sifus,

i'm a noob in android..

planning to get a samsung vibrant. since it is ap... any problems with updates?

any difference btw ap and original..

thx a lot
*

Vibrant is slightly different from the international galaxy s i9000, noticeably from the missing front secondary camera and the soft home key (with additional search key). Other features should be similar. Since vibrant is selling in usa, the update might not be similar with the galaxy s (including installing custom rom.)
Normally the only thing that differs ap and original is the warranty. Check also accessories provided (should be as similar to the original content).

High quadrant score does not mean good performance.

Anyone tried the Super Optimized Kernel yet? Any take on the stability/speed/battery consumption?

The last few updates includes Laptop mode, RAMZSWAP and some enchanced memory settings. I wonder if that could 1-up hardcore's speedmod stability/speed/battery consumption.

Many benchmark softwares aren't optimized for the hummingbird chip used in our galaxy s. Thus, the score doesn't really measure the speed of your phone. Many of us do not care about how many quadrant points we get as long as we get a smooth and speedy phone.

As you have flashed speedmod kernel, have you enabled all recommended tweaks in recovery mode?

The last one I tried was 4.7.4. Overclock was not stable yet although undervolt gave noticeable battery saving. Haven't tried the latest SO kernel yet.
