So long already..... still the rattling sound in my rear right door panel not solved. Brought it to the servicec centre so many times liao. Sien man. blush.gif Today go checkout the C200CGI. Maybe.... that's the way to go hmm.gif . Wonder how much can a 4month old GTi fetch? Maybe just leave it to the wife to use lah, since she doesn't mind a little rattling. sweat.gif
Nothing more sien than to sit in a car with constant rattling sounds, definitely spoilt the driving experience.

Hi golf TSI drivers, I have a question, about the rims/tyres.
I noticed there is a small difference, between the ones on the road and the ones printed on the brochure, attaching the pics..anyone noticed this as well? Thanks..

Because VW also knows that the 16" on the TSI looks fugly, that why in their brochure they show you the 18" rims.
Even GTI's brochure shows the car with 18" Detroit instead of the 17" Denvers.
But still, GTI only comes with 17" Denvers.
In some other countries they have different specs for all models, so you can choose what you want.
Here you can only choose between GTI and TSI. doh.gif

The one i the brochure is the 18" Michigan. I'm currently looking for a set of Karthoum 18". Will look good on black car. Anyhow, for the rattling, I have a done quick kaizen style fix. Get a good contact cleaner, spray it on the door striker. Then put a good electrical tape around it. I did on all 4 doors and the rattling sound all gone. When I send my car for service the SA was quite shocked to see it. I told him not to remove it. Hahaha..

thanks for the info guys~ so that means if one wants to change the rims/tyres, he will need to void the warranty? else will be stuck at the stock 16" ?

No you got it wrong man. You only void the warranty for the original tyre and rim plus suspension and track. It's illegal to void the whole car warranty for a simple wheel and tyre change. But for all intent and purpose, Honda and Toyota seem to voiding warrantied because of this.

Added on March 27, 2011, 1:31 pmGuys, just want to share my experience today with my stock TSI. I've been in the UK for the past 2 days and missed my car like. Got back this morning and jump straight into the car to fetch my sweetheart (u know what i mean.......). Turned off ESP completely and drove in manual mode 100%. There's a straight road from my house leading up to the plus highway. So at the traffic light, there was a Gen2 with an ampai-kain-look spoiler and big exhaust. Light turned green, punch it wide. 1st gear, tire screeched, 2nd gear still screeching and up to the fourth gear. Left him there by 3 cars length. Hahahaa. I decree it was a good kill.

Just thought of sharing the fuel consumption from my GTI from the last 5 pumps.
    Fuel Type = Shell V-Power RON 97
    D= Distance, L = Litres
    * 24 March | D = 542km | L = 49.32 | KM/L = 10.99
    * 16 March | D = 539km | L = 52.06 | KM/L = 10.35
    * 9 March | D = 554km | L = 46.25 | KM/L = 11.98
    * 2 March | D = 520km | L = 49.48 | KM/L = 10.51
    * 23 Feb | D = 492km | L = 48.01 | KM/L = 10.25

Other owners care to share theirs? Interested to know in particular from Golf TSI owners.
