With so many complaints on the serving done by Cergaz, I am starting to have doubts in doing my first service there.

QUOTE(phas3r @ Mar 13 2011, 11:49 PM)
btw how much is it for a set of 18" detroits?
RM10k + ?
*
QUOTE(Mavik @ Mar 13 2011, 11:57 PM)
I saw in the other forums, people were selling from RM2500 (just the rims alone) to around RM4500 with tyres. But most of them are outdated (the WTS posts)
*
Yep, I got mine for about RM2.6k for the rims itself. It from a previous MK5 owner whom he repainted it to look like MK6 Detroits.
I know someone who is trying to sell MK5 detroits. If you interested to know, PM me for more info. smile.gif

oh so it's a used one? rm2600 for all four? as i know last time in jalan 222, detroits selling for 2.6k
*
Yep it is a used one. All four rims for RM2600 minus. I think brand new from VW could be very ex though.

QUOTE(futobuta @ Mar 14 2011, 07:14 PM)
Went to have a look at the so-called "GTi KILLER", Mazda 3 MPS today. Didn't really impress me. Other than a bigger engine which produces more power and torque, I don't see any other plus points. Ooops... there is one, the price brows.gif RM180k, 'so cheap'! The exterior is still ok lah, with a big scoop in front, big rims with low profile tyres, twin exhaust. But the interior is just typical mazda 3. Nothing to shout about. No leather seat, no eletric seat, the panels are all plastic. The clutch of the manual tranny is quite hard, need to stomp on it. I think I prefer our DSG more. Or is it just me getting lazier by the minute.  whistling.gif  All I can say is, I've no regrets not waiting for this to get launched and got the GTi instead. thumbup.gif
*
Beating German engineering/workmanship would be tough. The level of fit-and-finish in a GTI is truly top-notch. Of course, the more you pay, the better things you get. smile.gif

Wow I have been eyeing on it since I got my car. You got PM. tongue.gif

QUOTE(futobuta @ Mar 21 2011, 09:41 PM)
Today is a sad day. I just scrapped my virgin GTi on a wall when I was squeezing through a tight angle. When I heard the sound of it hitting against the wall, my heart sank. Now my front left side of my bumper... got scar liao. Luckily my fog lamp was spared. Can't stop blaming myself for being so clumsy n for the poor judgement. How much is it to replace the front bumper ah?
*
Sorry to hear about the unlucky incident. Definitely going back to VW will costs you a bomb. Repair workshops/"tung tung shop" should help you with it. Which one you planning to go?

QUOTE(hajicrespo @ Mar 22 2011, 10:44 PM)
erk, got a piece of questio here..

which one is heavier.. the 18" detroits or the 17" denvers?
*
Checked thru Google:

18" detroits = ~23kg

17" denvers = ~21kg

QUOTE(Mavik @ Mar 22 2011, 11:32 PM)
Can't be helped mah, coz for the Roc its a 2 door car so more emphasis on the front passengers. Hence no rear air cond vents and rear cup holders as well wink.gif
*
Thanks Mavik for the reply thru PM. So what's next on your mod list? tongue.gif

Just thought of sharing the fuel consumption from my GTI from the last 5 pumps.
    Fuel Type = Shell V-Power RON 97
    D= Distance, L = Litres
    * 24 March | D = 542km | L = 49.32 | KM/L = 10.99
    * 16 March | D = 539km | L = 52.06 | KM/L = 10.35
    * 9 March | D = 554km | L = 46.25 | KM/L = 11.98
    * 2 March | D = 520km | L = 49.48 | KM/L = 10.51
    * 23 Feb | D = 492km | L = 48.01 | KM/L = 10.25

Other owners care to share theirs? Interested to know in particular from Golf TSI owners.

not sure abt the Golf GTI .. but the Golf TSI has it.. and yes it's very noticeable... esp when it's a dark corner.. u will c the headlight bending and shining on the road as opposed to shining on the barrier /curb

Yep, GTI has it too.

So no one care to share with me the FC for GTI?

And no one else interested in the bulk?
*
My FC as stated earlier also was on normal drive (Max only hitting 4-5k rpm at certain times). So 10KM/L is pretty average comparing some of the stats given out.

problem is buying rims not from shop .... so hard to trade lah ...  havent decided wat rims yet.. still surveying... bbs, caractere ...    not sure which will suit my dark color scirocco best ... regretted spraying my 17" phoenix matte black.. now my car at night looks so dark...

btw tyres in singapore cheaper or m'sia ?
*
Yeah, usually for black colored cars, silver rims looks good. More contrast. I would suggest to go for 18" interlagos. If you wanna push further, someone is selling 19" Breytons at VAGSG. Looks pretty good on ROC.

However 19", I would think twice too.

For tyres, you can get 225/40/18 Michelin PS3 for SGD$280 each according to VAGSG forums. That's about RM680. Way cheaper than I got it here for RM725 each.

Here is my previous FC run 2 months back. All refilled as when the yellow refuel logo appeared:

D= Distance, L = Litres
* 24 March | D = 542km | L = 49.32 | KM/L = 10.99

Actually I have a program installed on my phone which populates all these details for me. smile.gif

QUOTE(ZeroSP @ May 3 2011, 09:38 AM)
Wow... RON97... And the FC above is for 90% City 10% Highway I suppose?

If I ever get GTI, think I am gonna run it on RON95 also... 97 way too expensive for me yet... And as long as FC will be like mentioned above 10-11 KM/L for city driving I will be happy I suppose, same like my Civic but with a lot more power.
*
No, actually it is more like around 60% highway, 40% city.
I somehow think RON95 on GTI could be underpower (maybe someone here would disagree?). Even on my previous Civic FD, I pumped RON 97. I felt much smoother acceleration and more power.

Which app is that if you don't mind sharing smile.gif I am trying out Fuel Log now but seems a little complicated for me tongue.gif
*
Yep I am using Fuel Log too. Interface is pretty simple actually. Just key in whats your odometer, how many litres pumped and how much the fuel price is (RM2.70 for RON97 now). In the Settings, I set "Distance per Volume" in order to get the KM/L data. For me, that's the best app for FC tracking. (on Android I mean)

I been to Jalan Ipoh branch few times since their offical openning and quite close to the service advisor..Mr.Ivan (friendly guy).
*
I believe the key here to having a good service to get close with a service advisor in any service centre.
The closer you are with the person, the better it is. Even when it comes to claiming warranty, he/she will close one eye on other modifications that you have done.
That's just my 2 cents. smile.gif

yup .. but that's exactly my predicament... i've became too closed to both SC Service Managers / advisors... so hard to complain to their management since so buddy buddy ..  sweat.gif    they are always very frenly to me, belanja minum, go yamcha etc... and still attend to my car just that each time not 100% resolved. so wasted a lot of time goin back and leaving the car there ....

so gud n bad... ... gud is my HU player.. they can help kaotim...  tat's the trade off...

Yeah agree, they are good and bad. I guess in end you need to stand for your customer rights. If they are doing their job well enough, make a complaint.
