Think the powerplant for the Polo will remain the same (1.2TSI). That said, I think the hatchback Polo is much nicer than the sedan. Much, much nicer...

However, jwrx is right; if was a CKD unit, and was in the price range of a Honda City, Insight and Totoya Vios... it would really kill the market. Heck, why Japanese when you can go German?(!).

My friend who snapped pics of the new polo and the new passat in the VW garage the other day showed that the Polo had a 1.6 badge on it. Very weird there.

Cause there are still plenty of ppl who doesn't know the poison of VW and just plain comparing it with CC to CC which most of my friend did.

the 1.6 unit is a test mule, most likely will be stripped. Engineers here will see what parts can be CKD, etc

Yeah definitely, like when they had the bare and manual versions of the Golf TSI and Polo before it was brought it.

If the Polo had the 1.4TSI, then it would be in too close competition to the 1.4 Golf TSI. Same issue if it had a 1.6 I reckon.

I think 215k for the normal passat is too high.Reason i say so is because the gap between the E class and the CLS is huge. Hence the diff between PAssat and the CC should be about 20%-i.e 50k. I speculate it will be about 200k++. But then again....I might be so wrong!! tongue.gif

what's the difference between mk5 and mk6 rims anyway...it looks the same to my untrained eye lol

My guess

Polo Sedan vs City, Vios, Mazda 2
Jetta vs Civic, Altis, Mazda 3
Passat vs Accord, Camry, Mazda 6, Teana.

Depends on the price. If its within 5-10% difference of the Japs then it will be a very exciting 2012.

Yesterday on the way back from work my wife asked me to stop at the roadside and she bought this particular Malaysian fruit and put in the car boot. So I'm proud to say that I think I have the only scirocco tsi in malaysia

Do a google on 18" Detroit rims (from the Mk5) and 17" Denvers (from the Mk6)

I am getting those with the S3 Suspension bush. All in all, meant to improve stability more instead of just lowering the car. Can't stand the amount of bodyroll from the car especially when cornering. The full setup should bring the ride comfort to about that of a GTI.
*
hi bro, can u comment/review on th ride after the eibach installation? Am planning to get a golf TSI soon, but i thought the current stock suspension is good enough? no?

mavik, S3 bushes will make your ride harsher, something u might want to consider. Some ppl dun notice a diff, but it confirm will make your ride more niggly

advantage is much better power delivery to the ground, offset by the harsher ride. it will give marginal improvement to handling, stiffer steering thats about it
