QUOTE(wira1979 @ Oct 7 2020, 07:31 AM) I'm hearing RM7 - 8 per sq ft for tiles installation. Is this inclusive of removing the old tiles as well? Usually, the psft rate is for more than 500sqft. Planning a reno and would like to have a budget in mind to avoid being charged too high. Our prices is as follow 1) 2x1 or 2x2 Tiles Install only - RM6/sqft (cement, tiles adhesive, labour) 2) 2x1 or 2x2 Tiles Supply & Install - RM10-12/sqft (Tile - MML/Kimgres) Aside, if you haven't engaged a contractor, can contact us. We cover Melaka, N.Sembilan & Klang Valley. We can provide a quote, after viewing the site; no obligation la |

QUOTE(ongonglai89 @ Oct 24 2020, 02:34 PM) Hi guys, any recommendations tile brand for toilet? If possible, state also why and the price. All the leading brands will include tiles that are suitable for toilet. Some popular tile brands in Malaysia are Niro Granite, White Horse, as well as China brands. For toilet tiles, what's most important is that the tiles have texture, not slippery, easy to clean and easy to cut. I'm planning to change all tiles in my toilet. 33sf. Heard good things about Niro Granite. They have a large selection of textured tiles, and the formulation is not easy to crack when you need to cut the tiles to fit around pipes e.g. your shower head, etc. For price, it range from RM10 psf to about RM30 psf. This price range us huge because of the huge range in tile grade, material, finishing n looks. There’s plenty of brand carried both expensive n economic tiles as the same time, even from the same brand, design n finishing price might be different due to the grade. What is a tile grade? Grade 1 tiles are good for walls, grade 2 are good for homes flooring, grade 3 is for light to moderate foot traffic, grade 4 is for commercial use, grade 5 is for heavy foot traffic (e.g. shopping centre) Higher grade tiles also promise more consistency. So the joint, levelling, colour, thickness will be much more consistent on higher grade tiles. ThengTurtle, tony_mw, and 1 other liked this post

QUOTE(glennmaverick @ Oct 24 2020, 10:13 PM) Price really depends, from RM15 psf to even RM100 psf for the really nice tiles, and moulded plastic can be thousands also. Super big tiles are really nice when used on feature walls, because there are less joining lines. Nowadays you can get super large tiles, solid surface, quartz or even molded plastic that is exactly the size that you want and no joining lines. Do note that the larger the pieces are, the harder it is to stick to the backing surface. So make sure your sifu apply the glue evenly over the whole surface (this is called back buttering). Otherwise you may get hollow air bubbles and the piece could crack as it ages. Actually, if you want a super large piece that will fit your wall perfectly, you can also get a big piece of marble, granite or quartz stone. Then it can be cut exactly to your size in one big piece. Another thing to note is, in our experience so far with large tiles, sometimes the contractor will add lump sum surcharge to cover the work. |

The sifu need to mix the mortar correctly, and apply correctly also. Not in this industry and less knowledge of these stuff. But, you also need to select the correct tiles for different surface. Even in bathroom, the tiles for the wall can be different for the floor. If you want to be more economical, you can save on the wall tiles first. Because wall tiles will experience less impact, and hence do not need to be premium type. |

QUOTE(scorpiok @ Dec 11 2020, 09:10 AM) Why need to put tile there? If the foundation is stable like soil is not sunk on one side to the other, then nothing will crack. Why not just but pavement block like those on walkway? |
