Googled told me that Porcelanosa is Italian tile manufacturer. laugh.gif

I think any tile from known manufacturers is as good as the others. Even each one also has different price according to series. You have to compare specification if you are looking for anything specific.

It's actually Spanish. Price is a little bit on a high side, but still affordable. I am planning to use it for my kitchen. Area isn't that big, only 180sqft. But compare to China brand of same design, the price is almost triple sweat.gif

My concern is, if I use china brand with printing, will the printing faded over time? Thickness is slightly different as china is 9mm vs 12mm. Is it worth spend extra for reliable manufacturer.

I wanted to use Malaysia brand, but non of them carry the design I wanted.

Google was correct but my brain malfunctioned laugh.gif

I think there are good China made and there are also poor one. I saw some some using China one the tile absorbed dirty water from underneath and surfaced as dark patches on tile surface. The only solution is to replace the whole tiles doh.gif

Yes printing is another matter. My office renovated with lovely wood-like rectangular tile. Just over a year the print has faded doh.gif The different is the tile meant for public place and for home. Price is different too.

I think it is best to ask the shop that sell the tile and what kind of warranty offered by manufacturer. smile.gif

If the price is one third of non china one, I doubt the china quality is on par. But I hope people here can dismiss my doubt. But instead you confirmed my doubt laugh.gif

I didn't ask about warranty. I googled the standard warranty offered by that brand throughout the world is 3 years.

I guess I just spend extra now and maybe next 15-20 years then only I have to worry about my tiles.

Actually I want to say when asking for warranty is to test how confidence the shop that sell the China tile. Usually when shop sell China one, the warranty void once you pay them laugh.gif

I think this one has better warranty. Warranty stops few days after you receive the items laugh.gif

Some says China tiles is way cheaper than Malaysian made..

Me just lurkingaround saw it's really not so much different...

Around 10% +/- cheaper only..
Was thinking Chinese made would be at least 30% or even 50% lower price 🤣

Hi guys, I'm having my house renovation now. landed house at subang area, looking for tiles at my bathroom and kitchen. Saw that there are different brands of tiles such as feruni, Niro, white horse and goucera. What's the difference between these brands? And which is the better quality?

Also any recommendation on where to find for tiles around subang area?

dear sifus,
all 3 bathrooms are undergoing remake for own stay.
tiles already start putting up and i would need suggestions on the grout to be used for bathroom.
Since all the materials are purchased by myself and i would need something more suitable for bathrooms grout lines.

There are grout meant to be specific for wet area like bathroom instead of just normal cement base. It will not stain like my bathroom (by developer).

I am thinking of scraping it and use silicon (commonly referred as caulk).

Grout will crack if there is pressure applied to its contact surface but easy to apply. Silicone is flexible but harder to apple like pro. Need a bit of practice laugh.gif

Your choice wink.gif

Hi all, I am planning to install subway tiles on top of my existing kitchen tile wall. I heard that it is possible to just use adhesive? I have several question:

1. Is it possible to DIY?
2. If yes, with what minimal tools that I need to prepare, the one problem that I think is when I need to cut the tiles according the my plug/switch. In my mind is just by using those handheld cutter for straight line and chipper (not sure what it is call) to chip bit by bit for the plug/switch area
3. What type of adhesive I need to use
4. Do I need to prep the existing tile?
5. Do I need to put spacer if installing subway tiles?

Need some suggestion. Total newbies here about tiling. sweat.gif

Why you want to do that since it is already tiled? Any difference? You want something new?

Yes possible. There are many brand and I don;t have name. You can just go to tile/hardware shop and ask. They can recommend.

Existing tile just need to clean from any oil or grease. Just follow the adhesive instruction.

Putting space will make it look more professional with uniform spacing. Some just use match stick. No need to buy those plastic spacer.

As for the existing socket, remove it and you just need to drill hole to pass through wire. Socket can just crew over the tile. No need precise cutting whatever.

No need to hack. My bathroom floor also put tile directly on top of existing tiles. I want to create different level (just a single tile thickness) to separate wet and dry area by preventing water from shower to overflow to sink area. I just put simple curtain to prevent water splash.

It is more than 10 years already and still fine.
