QUOTE(jake9110 @ Aug 3 2020, 12:17 AM) Hi guys, I'm having my house renovation now. landed house at subang area, looking for tiles at my bathroom and kitchen. Saw that there are different brands of tiles such as feruni, Niro, white horse and goucera. What's the difference between these brands? And which is the better quality? used Guocera, MML & Alpha Tiles...so far so good... Made in Malaysia others I don't know... can ask those shops for details.. size also different.. the bigger the size, the more expensive... then the polish thingy... more polish the tiles.. more expensive... mine is tiles range from rm2.30/pc to rm6.80/pc depends on size, polish level & types |

Is it cheaper to buy tiles by yourself rather than having a contractor to get them for you? If so any shop to recommend?

Car Porch Floor Tiling,
1x2 Tiles for 420sft, at RM 7,500./ (lum sum quote from contractor) I guessing the breakdown is something close to: Tile (1x2) @ $8/sf [210pcs = 420sf/2sf , so that makes it $16 per tile - yikes!] Labour (cement + sand) @ $6/sf Hack Existing cement-screed floor with BRC @ $4/sf What are your thoughts, is $7,500./ for 420sf car porch - decently priced or overpriced? I'm thinking tiles could be cheaper, considering it's only 1x2 size. I have a quote from Feruni for 1x2 (300x600 VP01N) for $8.90/pc - so $16.00/pc above is quite mind-boggling to me. QUOTE(Hagendaz @ Aug 28 2020, 10:41 PM) If u can remember the brand of the tiles even better...Because sometimes the shop have old stock too.. not in box, but pieces... So easier to replace the broken tiles... 30x30 is standard.. Should be non issues... Any shop should have... And its white gloss.. basic type... If yours like marble gloss white. Then problem... Different batch got different color tone... |

I'm hearing RM7 - 8 per sq ft for tiles installation. Is this inclusive of removing the old tiles as well?
Planning a reno and would like to have a budget in mind to avoid being charged too high. |
