I am looking for a DVD/Media player for my new Vios. What is your recommendation ? Budget below 1.5k (without GPS).

I was recommended by one of the shop the following brands and models.

1. PHILIPS CED1700 Double 2 DIN 7' HD Touch Screen Car DVD Radio Player

However, another shop told me this model got problem. Under the hot sun, the power will auto cut-off. Anyone face the problem ?

yeahh..same with me..i went to SC yesterday for servicing..they fixed it..i think the sounds disappear.
you can try ask them about it..it comes from the dashboard..its a common problem actually..

which SC you went? any idea what they did to fix the problem?

i went to cheras SC..the one somewhere tesco taman midah..it is opposite..you can google the map.
they told me they put some sponge in between somewhere that got space in ur dashboard..

they said if the problem persist, you can come again to clarify..they will dissemble the whole things to fix it..hehe
just need your time and patience only.

I'm using CED1700. How much they quote you?

So far ok. Power cut off never experience before, but radio cut off experience before
Suddenly my radio no signal, has to restart the player a few times then ok.
(now less frequent)

The reason i chose this is tight budget of course. If not JVC or Pioneer would definitely be a better buy.

One thing you need to note though, the video format compatibility with this player is really not that good.
Only AVI supported, with bitrates quite low as well.
(gotta convert all my mp4's to avi for this )

A rating of 5 i will go with 3/5, due to the fact that it is competitively priced and it works.

P.S: Almost forgot one last important thing, sound is definitely good enough.
Compared to lower end JVCs/Pioneers, this should kick their ass. (told by salesman )
I am not an ICE fan, but the sound was good for me

I feel that G limited bodykit is nice. It makes the car looks slightly bigger in size comparing to other specs.

TRD spec bodykit nice too, it looks slimmer, just that the rear spoiler is a little bit tall.

For interior, I like the TRD spec's black leather, it is easier to maintain compare to beige color leather interior of G Limited.

How nice if can get combination of G limited bodykit + TRD spec's interior and the TRD gold colored rims.

thanks for sharing. I was quoted RM1100 and RM1380 by 2 diff shops. How much you got it?

i think it is underneath the drawer, something like plastic component is knocking and vibrating whenever the car moves through uneven road, thus causing the rattling noise to come out. I read somewhere before got people mentioned that the noise probably coming from the side passenger airbag cover.

I sit my friend's J spec Vios before and my friend never encountered this rattling noise from that area, maybe due to J spec does not have side passenger air bag.

where did you sent your car?which SC?i think they lazy to open ur dashboard la..
the toyota rep before handing me the key, he said i can always come if i got problem again..
