i got a problem... my friend don't believe in Jesus but he believe in God he dont believe jesus is son of God he think Jesus is just a prophet only..same like the Muslim Muhammad. how should i explain to him? he is a chinese..
You can start like this.
Just tell Him, of all the religions in this world, Jesus is the only one Alive today in Heaven.
The Bible was written by different writers in the span of 1500 years testifying this same person name Jesus Christ.
There's 66 Books and the authors does not know each other as they lived in different centuries but their writings all point to this one Messiah. Messiah means Saviour of Mankind.
You can add, why would anyone bother to spread this story about Jesus? Think about it.
If indeed the Bible is nothing but Man's creation, the interest would have stop a long time ago because authors would write to the benefit of himself. But in stark reality, all the 40 authors of the Bible talks about nothing but God and his grace and promises towards Man.
So it's safe to conclude that the Bible was not written to the benefit of the authors but was geared to offer hope to everyone who would believe God. And it's amazing all the 40 authors collide on the same course of unfolding this person Jesus Christ.
If it was for financial gain, it would only benefit the respective authors of his time. But remember this, the Bible consist of 40 authors talking about God and Jesus Christ. So to say the Bible is man's creation doesn't hold water and fall short of the rationality of the purpose of it's existence.
And as written in the books of the Bible, of all the religion in this world, Jesus is the only one who claim to be God whereas all other religion key person are either a teacher or a prophet and they are all dead or no longer in existence.
In the book of Acts, the last few disciples of Christ witnessed this same Jesus lifted up to the clouds, promising to come again to resurrect all who are dead and bring those who are alive home to Heaven living eternal life. This promise of Eternal life is given freely to all who believe and those who are willing to have, change of mind about right way of living, Jesus way.
Your friend would probably ask you what is the prove, all of this is true?
Tell Him, Christianity is not just about words or reading books. It is power of life transform. It must be experience first hand.
1 Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
You can share to him the testimony of miracles and healing.
Because Jesus is alive today, He's able to heal the sick. I believe of all the religion in this world, we are the only one in the ministry of healing despite of having thousands upon thousands of Churches worldwide. We all have this.
And I'm sure there's bound to be somebody in your Church who have testimonies. You can get their powerful testimonies as a sharing tool.
Hope this helps you.
God Bless.

Definitely not . It should be under the Lord's light or His Person. What does the Lord say on this matter? Did you go through the Lord? We are those not living according to our heart, which is, corrupt and full of the self. Our heart should be open to the Lord to shine over our being, opinion, feelings and motives.
QUOTE(Patrick Star @ Nov 26 2012, 10:58 PM)
if we refuse to befriend with that buddy again, is it mean we din really forgive that person? o is jus a normal human reaction?
If you are asking this, you are already know what your conscience is telling you. Suppose a certain brother offends you, and you forgive him. Your forgiving of him will annul his offending of you. Then there will be no problem between you.
But then, is this friend, an unbeliever or a brother?
In principle (situation may varies - if he/she is a brother in the Lord), the Lord Jesus did not speak in a light way. What does it mean to forgive? To forgive is to forget. If you cannot forget, it means that you have never forgiven.
This is one testimony that I have read:
Once a brother came to me saying, "Brother, let me tell you what a certain person did to me..He really offended me, but I forgave him." Immediately I told this brother, "Your forgiveness is quite different from the forgiveness in the Bible. The Bible says that to forgive is to forget. You say that you have forgiven your brother, but you remember everything well enough to repeat it to me. This means that you have not forgiven your brother because you have not forgotten the offense." When God forgives us, He forgets. Although God is omniscient and omnipotent, He is able to forget. He simply cannot recall our failures and transgressions. Once He forgives them, He forgets them.

Nope.
Its called subconscious preparation to deal with future political occurences.
This is a learning situation for me and the youth pastor alike. So next time I come across this type of situation, I know how to deal with it.
For example, when I got involve in a music ministry, I detected the same clickish politics as that I dealt with at that youth church. So I pulled out. I learn from this, to choose those ministries that are most compatible to my talents and my interests. Also I am able to enjoy the company and enjoy wider cooperation.
From there, I also was able to learn how to deal with people. After that bad experience, I went to another church and decided to behave more conservatively. In the past, I have an open speaking kind of character. I like to talk to people and befriend people. Now I have learn to be careful because it may incur political backlash. When i went to the new church, I became timid and quiet but not anti social. Only speak when there is a chance, don't make myself open too far out. And from thereon, after 10 years at this church, I have gotten well with others.
If we just learn to forgive, forgive. And not go into the underlying reasons then we just go into another myriad of conflicts with other people, not realising what is the underlying cause. WHich is of course, political motivation.
You must learn to forgive and how to deal with the situation better.
You can'[t forget something like this. You must know how to let past experiences shape better in your decision making and getting along with others.
You can never forget because it will happen to you ! The Devil will surely put you through another situation or trial like this. You must face it ! And conquer it !
Dude. Shut the f*ck up. "Subconscious preparation to deal with future political occurences"?
Bullsh*t.
If you weren't unforgiving subconsciously in the first place, why would there be a need to prepare for future politics at church? Are you trying to say that you are not even the least being emotionally motivated to think about being "prepared"?
You also said:
QUOTE

Another self-conjured bullsh*t.
Let me give you something that you already know. You wanna know what is the underlying cause?
They are SINNERS like YOU. You know, similar to the one in the MIRROR too?
That is the cause. If you think that they indeed have problems with you, why wouldn't you go to them to clear things up HONESTLY? Are you that SUPERIOR to others that you think that THEY MUST COME TO YOU instead? If you think you have done nothing wrong, why not talk to them about it? Why is your bitterness towards them not clarifying things with you?
Where do you think POLITICS come from? Of course there will be politics! It is human nature, and plenty of them aren't all that kind and benevolent. It is inevitable. And it is inevitable, because sin is inevitable. And you begin to think that they are lesser than you in SINNING, then ALL THE PROBLEMS YOU HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT, have no one to be blamed for except for the one in the MIRROR. Go ahead. Look into the mirror and boast that you have every right to blame them, and that you are blameless in the ordeal that you are referring to.
Do it now. Boast in front to of the mirror until you remember this verse:
"Please forgive them father, for they know not what they do", as His hands were nailed shut into the cross.
So shut the f*ck up, and if you think you know what you are worth, go get it. But you must be willing to understand that you are a sinner walking the path of life with other sinners, and until you UNDERSTAND the IMPORTANCE of the FORIGVENESS given to HUMANITY and to YOU by the One who died on the Cross, you will continue to b*tch about your problems, blaming and pointing fingers at everyone else BUT YOURSELF.
COWARD.

They removed the 2nd commandment which in return replicates the "Thou Shalt Not Commit Covet Your Neighbour" into 2 different lines.
This removal of God's original commandment allows them to practice paganism.
It is also unclear that they allow themselves to worship the "Mother of Heaven" and their pope to be the mediator between God. In the protestant believe, we can only reach God thorugh Christ who took away all our sins.

Anyone care to explain why?
Dear sis/bro, do not believe everything you see first sight. First of all, Catholics are also Christians. Since I am like the only catholic active here (for now), Ill explain what I already know, and forgive my ignorance on the part I had not. You are also christian, and you have the Spirit of Discerning, Knowledge and Wisdom to know what is right and what is wrong. Now thank God u have that, if not u would not ask.
to the 1st part: This is the Christian Community Bible- Catholic Pastoral Edition. Is it not the same as Protestant Bible? (I dont know where the video maker get his source but its clearly done without much research)
to the 2nd part: Why Catholics do not have gifts of the holy spirit? This title itself is so effin wrong. Catholics believe in Christ too, what is there for this person who made this video to judge or post smtg without doing proper research, and that RCC believe in Is but discard Corinthians? No, we all believe the same, Catholic or Protestant.
His half-baked story and condemnation and judging....
Let us look at Isaiah 11
Judge me if I understand the Scripture wrongly, RCCs and Protestant do believe in the same
QUOTE
The Branch From Jesse
11 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. 2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord— 3 and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.
First, to understand this, one also must understand that this book is about Israel's glory and prosperity declined after kingdom of David. Judah is between two great nations of that time, Ashur - Assyria and Egypt. Days of Anguish indeed. The israelites knew about Yahweh because of their books and because the old people told their children, therefore they still go to Jerusalem to offer sacrifices and follow religious customs of their elders. BUT, Isaiah will reproach them, all of this is nothing more than human laws, a religion that is learned and does not spring from the heart.
This faith has no power. It is a mustard seed but without water. Isaiah is the man who at this time lived this experience and encountered the living God. (Chapter 6)
This book is about a persevering struggle to arouse faith in those deprived of vision. and about God's promises to David's descendants.
Isaiah 11: Israelites live their lives as normal, after David they only hoped for a future King better than David or at least at his level. Why? Because the promise that God made to David about his descendants (2 S 7:14) was not understood to be announcement of future Messiah. Isaiah is the first to announce the Messiah, HERE. Presented as 'A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse' and better than David, Emmanuel (he is also called son of Jesse like David).
Better? the Spirit of the Lord dwell in him always, and unlike the prophets inspired by Spirit of God which is only sometimes.
Spirit of wisdom and intelligence, as Solomon had Spirit of prudence and strength, like David Spirit of knowledge and respect for the Lord, as Moses and and Patriarchs had.
The RCC 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit that he presented (author did not write clearly, but only condemn), from this Isaiah passage are in accordance to St Thomas Aquinas (Doctor of the Church for RCCs), in his Summa Theologica and is the guideline for Catechism of Catholic Church, BUT
like our Protestant brothers, we believe in all gifts (they do overlap) listed by St Paul please refer here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gifts_of_the_Holy_Spirit and there is one sentence there which sums up: In addition, Roman Catholicism[17] and Eastern Orthodoxy also continue to believe in and make use of all of the spiritual gifts. - We believe in all, not that we do not have (like the video maker said)
I do not possess theological knowledge to tell you why CCC chooses from Thomas Aquinas as guideline, but not from St Pauls sources (let me get back to you on this one after I asked priest in church)
Part 3 (RCC “Catholics break the biblical command to not call anyone on earth father by referring to their priests as Father”.)
This passage is often taken out of context, but is wrong to do so. You should not read the Bible and take verses and apply it to whatever you wish. As we dig deeper into this passage, if we were to read it literally then no one can be called father. This would include our biological father and the “Founding Fathers” of our country.
One of the Ten Commandments given us by God was to “Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother.” It doesn’t say “Dad”; it says Father. Furthermore, there are also passages where Jesus refers back to the “fathers” of Israel. And, St. Paul in describing his very own church leadership refers to himself as the father to his children in 1 Corinthians 4: 14-15.
“I do not write this to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel”
In James 2:21, James refers to Abraham as our father. In 1 John 2:14, John is writing to the fathers.
Now, In taking the full context of Matthew 23, you see that Jesus is condemning the scribes and Pharisees for lack of humility for not looking toward God for authority but rather setting themselves up as the ultimate authority. In the chapter, Jesus condemns them for using the titles rabbi (master), abba (father) and moreh (teacher), for their own selfishness and personal gains. A very crude example of this is a man having children so that he can get a tax benefit and treats his children as such. He is taking the role of “father” for his own selfishness and personal gains.
For RCCs, Catholics refer to Priest as “father” as a term of endearment and respect. The priests provides for our spiritual welfare just as a father of a family provides food, shelter and love for his family. Priests, through the Eucharist, provide us with our Spiritual food; through Reconciliation, provide us with forgiveness; through mass and the Bible, they teach us about God and His teachings; they listen and give us advise; and by their vocation, they sacrifice their life in service for us and our families. The Priest is our spiritual Father and we are his spiritual children.
“The world looks to a priest, because it looks to Jesus! No one can see Christ; but everyone sees the priest , and through him they wish to catch a glimpse of the Lord” – Pope John Paul II
Hyperbole is used in the Bible in several places, in order to make a point. The point with “call no man on earth your father” (Matthew 23:9) is to let us all know that our Heavenly Father is the Father of us all (“Our” Father). Other examples of hyperbole would be “all have sinned” (Jesus, 1 day old infants have not sinned), and “all Israel will be saved” from Romans 11:26 (Israeli murderers, robbers, sorcerers, fornicators, etc., who do not repent will not be saved). Jesus says in Luke 14:26 ,"If any one comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Does anyone really think that statement by Jesus is to be taken literally? And we have this holiday called “Father’s day”. Do you celebrate this day with Catholics?
About Mary, about Pope (who say he is mediator to God? only Christ is, as RCCs and Protestant believe the same) ), tell me what you believe now and why you think RCC is wrong, and I will reply to u another day.
And from what I see, we should not attack each other, if only we have the good will to try to understand what went wrong, what had to be right, this Church on earth would be united as one. It all happens when 1 try to justify his claim, this is human error, not God's. What is to say the protestants are more true than RCCs about gifts of holy spirit? I know that Assembly of God only accepts people for baptism if, and only if, they have the power to speak in tongues This problem happens when 1 tries to justify his interpretation of the bible above all others, and hence even though pastor do not call themselves 'father', they are akin to the 'father' that Jesus condemns in the same Mat 23:9 that they use to attack RCCs, when in truth, they argue btw each other and break off forming their own church etc problems. So, let us try to be open to each other, bros n sis in Christ Have a blessed week!

The 2nd commandment was known to be taken out from the official Catholic doctrinal ("Growing in Christian Morality" by Julia Ahlers, Barbara Allaire, and Carl Koch - page 40) which was declared FREE of errors when published. This book was used by the Catholics for their dicipleship courses). The Vatican themselves had fully approved of it. Somehow it was retracted and translations of the Catholic bible was corrected later to include the same commandments as the protestants as what the Jews have verified. This has already been reported since 10 years back in 2000 so I'm sure they've did a lot to cover the whole case to correct their own image. http://www.ianpaisley.org/article.asp?ArtKey=tencommandments
No matter how Catholics argue, it still stands true that Catholics still practice paganism. The most convincing proof is the worship of the Queen of Heaven - Mary statues and images. Even your highest leader - the pope bows down to Virgin Mary. Is this not a fact put forth in front of your own eyes to believe? Idolising Virgin Mary.
Even the SDMC case where so many went and bow down and worship the image on the window?
Many believed that many of the Catholics priests are secretly Freemason members. The underground section of the Vatican city has been known to store many ancient artifacts of idols and deities. It is also known that the pope himself establishes himself with Islam and the secret world order societies. You wouldn't believe it yourself until you see this pictures as proof before your eyes.
An inverted cross behind the pope?
The pope receiving a Quran as a gift.
The pope kissing the Quran.
How would you explain those pictures? They were photoshoped? Does he try to potray his importance on the same level as Christ?
Preserving skulls of monks/Saints
The "eye" of Satan
If words are unconvincing enough, are the pictures telling you more of the truth? It still doesn't change the fact that Catholics practice paganism which directly is an abomination to Rule #2 of the 10 commandments.

from the Church of Rome itself, that you cast your blame upon.
and to quote what I replied on another thread previously
QUOTE
It certainly would be idolatry if any Catholic thought that the plaster and paint before him in the form of a person was actually a god. When God wrote this Commandment, the Israelites at that very moment were
worshipping an Egyptian god, the golden calf (Exodus 32:4). They were worshipping it as a god. It is not forbidden to have statues. The Ten Commandments were carried around in the Ark of the Covenant, which had 2 statues
of angels on top of it (Exodus 25:22). Solomon had statues of cherubim in his magnificent temple (Ezekiel 41:19). Moses had a serpent statue made in the desert, so that all who looked upon it (not worshipped it), would be
healed of snake bites (Numbers 21:8). When people stand up, place their hands over their hearts, and pledge allegiance to a red, white, and blue colored piece of fabric, that is only honoring what it represents, it is not worship.
The exact same thing goes for statues. The devil uses evil imagery on TV, in the movies, on web pages, in magazines, and on billboards to ensnare humans every day; conversely, the Catholic Church uses sacred imagery and
art to inspire people to holiness. When you look at a picture of your dead child or parents and start crying, you are not “worshipping” the picture; it is only a reminder of what the person looked like.
Second, refer what bro Unknown Warrior said (pages 150-160), ' the law ' which Catholics and Christians are no longer under the old law, which never saved a soul, but they are saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. many people have never been able to accept the true message of Christianity, which is love … NOT law. … that the old law was really just a curse … to prove to sinful mankind that Jesus the Messiah, is absolutely essential for salvation.
Jesus perfectly fulfilled and set aside the entirety of the old law. Then on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit presided at the birth of the Church, which replaced it.
No more Old Covenant. No more Old Law. The Beatitudes are to the New Covenant what the Ten Commandments were to the Old Covenant. New Covenant Christians are now under grace … not law. And that’s a good thing, too … because the law was never capable of saving a soul. Old Law – Fulfilled and Set Aside By Jesus Christ Thanks to Jesus, New Covenant Christians know precisely what God looks like, so there’s no danger of our worshiping anyone or anything else. Also, please note that in Old Testament times, God commanded many types of graven images to be made and used, for his own sacred purposes. Since Jesus remains the head of the Church, and he personally gave the Church the power to bind and loose, on earth and in heaven, it was long ago officially decided that sacred art and statuary pose no obstacle to the authentic Christian faith. In fact, sacred art and statuary have been used for practical catechesis, since long before the average citizen was even able to read. Thanks to the Catholic Church, every Christian now has a very good idea what Jesus really looks like … while Jesus himself remains the flesh image of a heavenly thing … something which apparently breaks God’s very own commandment.
On the first Christian Pentecost the Church officially replaced the old system of things. From that moment on, according to the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority that Jesus personally gave his Church (binding and loosing, on earth in heaven … along with the Keys to the Kingdom) the New Covenant Church would be the only definitive path to salvation. The time for all the old laws, statutes, ordinances, feasts and rituals was over. They never had the power to save a soul, anyway. The New Covenant Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, headed by Jesus Christ himself, and paid for with his blood would now be the sole governing authority for every Christian … and things would remain that way until the end of time. Sorry if you don’t like it … but that’s the way it is!
My heart is with Christ, like you, like our bros n sis, but my heart is weak, as I am man, and man ERR. Like the branches and Vine that must remain in Christ, so that I do not BLUR. the Grace of God flows to us, in the name of Christ, through Holy Spirit, so we do not stutter as we are Body of Christ, Be it Christ, be it Saints on Heaven and Earth, be it Mary, it is Unbreakable, devils cannot stir, clear?
The whole Bible is about Love, Marriage of Men to God and returning to God, Christ is the centre figure, but Heaven is not about you and Jesus Christ only (that is so boring), its about all of US, angels and saints alike, and His creation, and Him.
And what about the protestant Jimmy Swaggart visiting prostitutes on Bourbon Street? The protestant Jim Bakker seeing a young woman on the side? The protestant Jesse Jackson fathering a baby out of wedlock? The protestant Al Sharpton making up the Tawana Brawley story? The protestant Jim Jones murdering hundreds of his followers with poison? The protestant Tony Alamo getting caught molesting young girls in Arkansas? The protestant David Koresh molesting young girls in Waco? The protestant Puritans murdering women in Massachusetts accused of being witches? Latest being, The protestant Kong Hee misusing funds of City Harvest Church
Do any of those protestant scandals "prove" that the Protestant Church is evil?
And besides all of that, there were scandals in the early church, namely that of Judas who sold Christ to the Pharisees so they could hand him over to the Romans, and that of Peter, who denied Jesus three times. The Church survived those apostles, hand picked by Jesus Himself. Sinful leaders of the Church do not necessarily equate to an evil Church. It only means that the leaders are human, not gods. Just look how evil politicians in charge of our country commit adultery and steal money. That doesn't mean that America is a rotten country and we should leave it; rather, it only means that we elect weak people who sin to office. The exact same thing goes for the 2% of priests over 50 years who have fallen into grievous sin. The other 98% are clean as a whistle.
so pls dont start this, we are humans. I am really reluctant to answer questions pertaining to errors of people and of Church. the Bolded sentence would practically answer everything, Let us turn to peace and love btw bros n sis, and help each other to grow in love, and to be more of living images of Christ, in Christ's name, amen?

You sounded like a conspiracy theorist. You obviously took every single information from those videos you see on youtube, and believed everything you see from the sites you have found. So a more appropriate question isn't if what you have seen is true, but whether if you have done your own research to compare conflicting views from both sides, and then came up with a conclusion with EVIDENCE? Those photos are evidence? Are you serious? With goodness sake, do a research before sounding like another conspiracy theorist, because I have also heard enough that Catholic priests are in fact, LIZARDS. With so many conspiracy theories around like yours, it becomes hilarious, almost to the point that they were merely an exaggeration.
Go search in Google, and type, Catholics are lizards. They too have pictures of how they were supposed to resemble a SECRET RACE OF LIZARDS CONTROLLING US BY THE ORDERS OF SATAN.
I laughed.

When we sin against God. Try to keep short record. After you have committed the sin ask God to for forgiveness there and then. On the spot. Don't wait until at night or the morning when we do our daily prayer.
