@limhongwoon : The Optimus driver which enable switchable graphics, if I'm correct, could be hacked from the standard nVidia installer, so long that at nVidia's website stated that your hardware supports it (well, GTX 460 and above should support, no problem over there).

Well spare parts is quite costly. The caddy case itself is about 40-45 USD. I'm upgrading to 2nd HDD, but not now, waiting for SSD price to drop haha

QUOTE(This is a Lamp @ Apr 1 2011, 07:58 AM) New Clevo models sighted!! Finally a chance to fight on Asus N series fitted with gt550s. Can't wait to see how much this mini-beasts will outperform NP5160/NP5170s I don't know the difference, probably 17" and 15". But they have switchable graphics with NVIDIA GT 555M, finally! the SSD short connector wasn't much expected. Thought that these connectors are same throughout different manufacturers (i mean, isn't there SATA-IO which governs everything bout SATA? Surely they should include the connector dimension as well, right?)

yes it might, but probably not a lot.
imagine that when you used DVD, although it's connected to the system, you only truly use it when you are accessing something. else, i think it would go into a idle state. Hard disk, well, i think you're going to access it a lot of time. |

Lamp, the seller at the link said about 12.7 mm thickness requirement, are these the same specs with the one you bought? QUOTE 3. Make sure your laptop existing optical drive is of the 12.7mm thickness/height, and of universal shape, as you can see in our photos here haha ok found it. quote from Sager's website: QUOTE Storage so, can buy the item already for 60 hengget (not including RM6-9 for shipping purposes). who wants to try? kahjye?1 Detachable 2.5" 9.5mm (H) SATA Hard Disk Drive 1 12.7mm (H) Optical Drive Bay, SATA Interface, Interchangeable with DVD±R/RW Combo drive, Blu-ray/DVD±R/RW Combo Drive This post has been edited by carbonytte: Apr 4 2011, 01:23 PM |

QUOTE(Pewufod @ Apr 4 2011, 04:44 PM) hey guys just a lil question it should be using the same 5V VBus, so in term of voltage across your cooler, it should be the same. also, your cooler usb 2.0 mane connector only has 4 pins compared to usb 3.0 supposedly 8 pins, so still not much utilize. my 2 centswill a normal usb 2.0 nb cooler gain performance if i plug them into the usb 3.0 port ? a lil dumb thou but just wondering if it works since the power output is greater |

I'm confused. Will NP8150 and NP8130 share the same BIOS? i know at NBR Sager/Clevo BIOS topic mentioned P150HM(NP8130/NP8150), but the model name for NP8130 at Sager's site is P151HM wor. Anyone tried the P150HM bios over 8130 already?

np8130 is possible, but you would possibly need to buy 180W adapter to support the beast (in case the 120W is not enough).

by the way, anyone knows the TDP of each product in our laptop? I'm trying to calculate if 120W is actually enough for NP8130 to sustain the AMD HD6970M.
i7-2630QM TDP should be 45W (maximum). meaning there's another 75W for other stuffs. our laptop display shouldn't use much (i assume that ours are LVDS, which uses lov voltage thus should decrease the power consumption). |
