just some FYI :

wonder why some resellers are afraid of using USPS?

Consider that USPS is practically the same like PosMalaysia. Because they are the same, the only difference is one is Malaysia, the other is US. So people would generally go towards private courier service instead (like DHL, FedEx, GDex and etc)

If you're urging the reseller to use USPS (like for instance over here would be malibal) make sure you confirm with them to use USPS Express Mail International, so that you can us the Track & Confirm link :

I think what is needed is to also update the EC firmware together.

There's a hard way to do that, in which you need to specifically find the BIOS chip, desolder it and use external programmer to do it.

Anyway, something to ponder on : http://antitheft.intel.com/get-service.aspx . Our laptop should have this support (since we're using Mobile Intel HM65 Express chipset which has the Intel Anti-Theft Technology)

Just did a comparison of buying Sager laptop (whole system, not barebone)

NOTE:
1. Consider you only want the warranty package covered by Sager, not covered Mucro/CubeHub.
2. Price comparison is inclusive of shipping cost.

If buy from Mucro/CubeHub/U.S Online reseller and send to Singapore:
- Buy from Mucro/CubeHub is cheaper than U.S Online reseller.
- Buy from Mucro/CubeHub (in SGD) is more expensive than buying from Mucro/CubeHub (in MYR) and send it to Malaysia.
- Laptop bag is given by CubeHub, laptop bag is not given by Mucro.

If buy from Mucro/CubeHub/U.S Online reseller and send to Malaysia:
- Buy from Mucro/CubeHub is cheaper than buying from U.S Online reseller.
- Buy from Mucro/CubeHub, laptops do not come with Laptop Bag, but from U.S Online reseller, most laptops come with laptop bag.

I did this based on what I saw on the websites, not sure whether you actually get a bag from Mucro/CubeHub.

Depends on order. For LPC-Digital, there's no bag unless you opt for Targus 69.99USD Bag. This is for NP8130 case though, not sure about other Sager notebooks.

Seems like ordering from U.S is different than ordering from CubeHub or Mucro.

Advantage of ordering from CubeHub or Mucro:
If you include CubeHub or Mucro warranty package during your purchase, anything happened to your laptop, they can service for you and you might not need to ship it back to U.S. (expensive shipping cost), you might be able to fix it if it is not very big issue.

Advantage of ordering from U.S reseller:
You get a shipment tracking number, so you know when your laptop will arrive Malaysia. If order from CubeHub/Mucro, they track for you.
*
Yeah. You can only track it when the item is being shipped from them in Singapore.

Actually for US resellers, it is the same process. Larry from LPC-Digital just told me about the shipping when it was being shipped from factory to their office, but when the item is shipped from their office to me, he gave me the Tracking No.

RM305. (RM290 + RM15 for shipping). a friend of mine knew a dealer, so got quite a cheap price la~

8 GB should be enough, since games use around 500MB-1GB (some might go beyond that, but >4GB system was usually meant for system running video editing which requires more than 4GB system). but I would say getting a 8GB might even be better than 12GB. My assumption is that our laptop has dual-channel capability but not triple channel, so best optimization if you got 2x 6GB (if there's a 6GB RAM la), having a 3x 4GB vs 2x 4GB, difference won't be much I think.

yeah i know you might regret since it's not the 2nd gen Intel Core i7. but at the same time you've already got a multi-GPU card solution. why regret? once you hit the i7 limit, the next big thing you need to worry is just your GPU. All i7 should be 8 threads (4 physical cores but with HyperThreading enabled) thus the performance difference in term of speed might not matter much compared to GPU vs GPU. Yours could even probably survive for 4-5 years smile.gif

I'm interested in getting NP8150-S1 but i kinda have a tight budget ( <6k ) so..
1. Are all Pc games gonna be in blue ray disk in the future? If so how soon?
2. Buying OS from sager. Cheap/ expensive?
3. 500gb with 4 GB SSD worth it?

Thankyou.
*
You are so dead wrong in number 1. Well, ok la not so dead yet haha.

People are actually beginning to download games instead of buying the hardware. I'm not talking about the illegal ones, but look at Steam and EA Store. With the internet speed we have right now, and global internet penetration increasing by day, it is no more of a hassle to download them instead of buying. Look at Ubuntu for example, even they stopped their free CD distributions already by saying that great internet accessibility throughout the globe being their reason to stop free CD distributions (although, some might argue and create some conspiracy theories smile.gif )

The blue ray will be most probably used for videos, going more and more into HD. Even on video side,

Buying OS with any manufacturer should be cheaper than buying the retail version, unless you get like a discount on the retail version, or through some other methods. Well if you're wondering they're good or not, maybe can try googling some website like tomshardware or anandtech and see the performance difference for yourself smile.gif

(Well if you buy it, show us the Primary Hard Disk Windows Experience Index, eh tongue.gif )

Currently, the Seagate Momentus XT sits at 5.9 WEI. It still counts as a harddrive not a solid state drive.
*
hoh. Same like stock SATA HDD blink.gif . Hmm, well that might be true, since WEI seems to be checking on data rate transfer. So it is still 7200 rpm. So the controller learns which file is always being used, and then swap them between the SSD DRAM and normal platter disc. Interesting.

I think i should wait for monday , im getting impatience because its my first time to be involve in a big amount of internet business transaction hehe.

thanks for the help !
*
haha. customer should be always right, but having a customer who keeps pestering you, i don't think anyone would like that. imagine you are like the cashier at MekDi, then suddenly someone ordered a Dabel Spicy MekCiken Delaks Value Meal, then suddenly you realized that the pepel behind still haven't got fries redi yet. So you told your customer "5 minit can aa?". And the customer keep on asking you every second "Oi, siap already or not my fries?". For sure you'll get angry as well right. Haha

Imagine yourself filling in their shoes.

*
You're buying from Mucro right? I would expect Mucro to only give the tracking num when item is being shipped from them to you, not from Sager to them. My experience with LPC digital la. Larry just said that the item was coming in his store from factory, only when he was shipping the item to me that he gave the tracking no.

I think they will ship from Sager to their office first. Only from there would they then use either DHL or PosMalaysia, depending on which option you took la.
