based on exterior design look @ sager's website : looks like both are actually sharing one fan (seen below), but it still got two vents from front point of view

Alright thanks alot for the feedback guys! I was thinking of either getting the NP8130 or the M14x, but it seems that the NP8130 is cheaper and also has a more powerful graphics card.

Just that with the M14x and the GT555m, nVidia's Optimus is available and test reports said that it can last about 4 hours+ on the integrated graphics, which is quite good.

I'm trying to find a balance between performance and battery life, cause I'll be using the laptop for gaming and also bringing it to uni for uni stuff.  laugh.gif

oh. well actually Optimus is possible with GTX460m. if you look at nVidia's website (http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-gtx-460m-us.html) GTX460M does have Optimus technology, but in Sager it is being disabled through graphics.

i believe at NBR there's a thread about enabling Optimus. I know how to do it, but quite lazy to open up the inf file and add in Clevo P151HMx into Optimus (my guess that it is the same like enabling latest graphics NVidia driver for Sager NP8130).

Added on May 16, 2011, 3:27 pmheheh. Clevo P151HM mentioned in Anandtech couple of days ago :

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4339/cyberpo...r-mobile-gaming

CyberPower X6-9300 is Clevo P151HM which is also Sager NP8130 smile.gif

nah. 480MBps is a theoritical data. hitting 50-60MBps is already good.

try this for reference : http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Asus-N61-Lapto...iew-1507-3.html

and also the page after that. look at the numbers. they don't even reach 100 MBps.

Nothing to be afraid of, really. The only time I'm afraid if it somehow did not work. I'm getting some probs connecting USB 2.0 HDD to the USB 3.0 ports sometimes, but no prob with USB 2.0 port. Maybe downgrading the speed just fails sometimes haha

Zzzz. My CPU just have a sudden high temperatures spike to 90+ 'C on all cores for no apparent reason. The load is like 0-10%. WEIRD!!!

Btw, who bought new laptop bag for their laptop? I want to know what brand/model you all have.

Bought mine (like what I posted earlier somewhere in this thread before) TheNorthFace Surge. USD 115 smile.gif.

They have in several colours (all available here : http://www.thenorthface.com/catalog/sc-gear/surge_3.html) , mine is zinc grey smile.gif

all light up without display could mean a lot of things.

easiest is always to check the RAM.

else, I usually check on the display ribbon

used to happen a number of times with my old Compaq lappie.

notice that even the details are copied from 460M http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForc...0M.48313.0.html

anyway I'm not expecting much.

Optimus should have been enabled since the 400M series, since this was firstly introduced in Fermi and us Sandy Bridge CPUs have the integrated GPUs to do this Optimus thing.

Personally I don't see any real time usage of Optimus, since I'm always using power brick.

unless you use an external keyboard, you hand is gonna hit the expresscard slot.

but then again, expresscard slot is something that I've rarely use. the only time I use it was when my internal network card in my very old laptop went kaput, thus need the pcmcia card instead.

but nowadays we have USB for almost everything. Thanks to ajay bhatt and friends
