I like their calculators, much better than casio and never failed me in exam. After so many years still running strong.  thumbup.gif
I like their L lens. At least they dare to say officially that their lens are weather sealed unlike nikon so that crazy and rich people can bring it when they bath and shower with their rubber ducky.  laugh.gif
*
No doubt the built quality of the L lens is amazing, not saying that Nikon is bad tongue.gif .. Well u cant go wrong with Nikon nor Canon la, both are good cameras anyway... anyway we are here to discuss Nikon not to bash Canon

Correct ah, I was talking about that laugh.gif
Read properly tongue.gif

laugh.gif The failure of their product differentiation is only a recent phenomena. So we'll see the coming near futures. The competition now between the big 2 is getting ever so intense because of what Canon did to their entry-level dslr. Nikon offers more value for money now.

No one is bashing their products, just their marketing. Their L lens build quality is really amazing. Nikkor is too.

More competition=more price cuts which is good for consumer like us, but that only happened on DSLR body not on lenses cry.gif

Eh guy , currently there are a few options come in my mind

I wan a wide angle zoom len for DX body , i will stick to DX for quite long but i wan to change to a better DX body soon. and want to start fund for N len before move to FX.

First i was thinking tokina 11-16 f2.8 , but too bad i cannot auto focus using my current body now

1) Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6
2) Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 VC
3) Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 OS HSM
4) Suggest me nikkor as well

I keep asking myself whether f2.8 is important , yes it is important for me , but how do you all think ?

I need wide angle to shoot environmental portrait , adding drama to people , something like shooting people doing their works..

thanks for guiding me !

Would like to see more of such competition for FF and FX. Then the bodies of FX would drop like dead flies. Yay! rclxm9.gif

the wider aperture lets you blur the background so that your subject(people in your case) can stand out more. Also, it would come in handy in low light situation where you doesn't need to bump so much on your ISO.

If you can, find a cheap used nikkor 17-55.

Nikkor > siggy 17-50 > tammy 17-50
Never tried the siggy 8-16 before

The FF are all semi pro or pro bodies, they do proper RnD on them and they are to last.

The entry level however are their playground to test market~

But there's more and more rich kids nowadays. You never know one day all of them fell in love with dslr. Look at the kids with Macbook Pro, iPad,Iphone 4, Ipod nano, buy honda the second day they got their p license. laugh.gif

If this rich kids around the world would go and buy some FX I'm sure the price would be more reasonable. rclxms.gif

Yeah, that's what happening to those kids with rich parents nowadays.
Let's enjoy our life as just some ordinary people.

BBuser, you should let people know your budget too so they can suggest you something better or the best for your budget and your needs.
