It's heavy tho, don't think it'll feel nice on a DX entry-level body.

so the verdict will be 70-300mm vr instead of the 18-270mm tamron?
since both more or less same price range.

Drop the idea of getting that 18-270. If you need tele lens, get 70300.

28-300mm not bad la. for the IQ.
only diff is 24-120mm got N and f4 all d way.

of course cant compare to 70-200mm. same does the price tag.

almost wanted to get it last time but went for Tokina 11-16 instead ... no regrets getting the Tokina ... brows.gif

yup ... i have to agree that the Tokina is a bit soft ... but i usually use it @ f/4 & above plus the distortion is well controlled ...

the 12-24 has a longer range & is slightly better IQ ... but the Tokina is a bang for buck lens to me cos i usually shoot at 11mm ... whistling.gif

but tokina doesn't AF with my D3100 right?
