D3100 cannot AF with prime lens right since prime lens dun have AF...and D3100 body dun have AF too?

only find d tokina are bit darker compare to nikkor.

in general gua... duno..last time discuss with friend he said in general Prime Lens dont have built in AF motor since the lens is short..and if use beginner body then had to manual foucs. hmm.gif
correct me if i m worng...my question is about Auto Focus only. nod.gif

no. it's actually depends on the model.
newer lenses (including prime lenses usually come with AF-S) therefore it will be able to do auto focus with entry level body.
however lens those days old old lenses. like 50mm 1.8 which doesn't come with AF-S won't be able to auto focus with entry level body as it doesn't have AF motor.
