Generally, WPA is very strong already compared to WEP,unless you are using easy password.. Anyway, you can disable the wireless in the admin page
*
Well all I want is to disable 100% wireless. Meaning there no wireless sign on what so ever. I edit to the admin page, disable everything and switch everything. Then on my pc test on my hp still there's there's wireless sign. Wonder y is there. I was thinking to get a knife and cut off the router antenna to disable wireless. So annoying people can get my wifi for free vmad.gif .

You should actually just use wpa to solve your problem. And... Always monitor your router and see which wireless device connected. If it's not your device, just block their access. But this can't kill the problem to the root.

Since you know how to get into admin page, if you insist to disable wireless, just go under SETUP TAB-->WIRELESS SETUP-->MULTIPLE WIRELESS NETWORK NAME SETUP and untick the box on the left of your SSID. This should do the job.

I actually still suggest to use wpa if you got wireless devices... If you're just connecting 1-to-1 to ur desktop, then disabling wireless do no harm to you. So far my monitoring on wireless devices connected to the router shows that no one other than my housemates is connecting to the wifi.

oh... for disabling wifi, credit goes to rizvanrp (hope no spelling error here)

I had some pronlem with my unifi (Biz5/VDSL)

The internet was down last Thursday,so i did the standard troubleshooting; replugged the cable and restarted the modem/router but problem was not solved. I called Ubifi tech team, but they said the report could nit be created since my application was still procrssing. Frustated by the answer,i turned off both BTU/router..

When i was going to go to bed, which was about 30 minutes after the incident,i turned both equipment, and suprisingly, the internet went back online. I was very excited. However,it didnt last long as 5 minutes later, the internet went down again sad.gif

The next day I lodged again a report with TM. They asked me to check on the phone for dial tone, and there was dial tone. She asled me to changed some setting on DLINK setup page (wireless channel,to be specific) and I did. But it didnt help to solve the problem.

Now,is my conclusion correct that the root cause is the router? How can I access the Huawei to check my DSL status and parameters? If i were to flash it with DDWRT,will it help tp solve it.. I dont have the IPTV, so not an issue. Plus ive been using DDWrt for many years.. And was very satisfied with it..

Anybody here has similar problem like me?

Thanks..

Bump! Just wondering if anybody can help me on this? TQ

DIR-615 router must really suck. I can't surf if I download more than 2 torrents at a time. Even the QoS does not help! Any other settings that I should be looking at?

Hi bijanto,

How did you resolve your problem? Ironically my friend is having a similar problem as yours, but I can't help him resolve. Check the setting in STB everything ok, and the STB can even obtain an IP, just that there isn't any picture but a satellite with a cross. Hope you can share more.

Thanks.

i done nothing actually..
i unplug all the cable...restart the router. tried connecting with my lappy via homeplug..

then switch back to IPTV..and suddenly picture out...no more crossing satellite signal.. laugh.gif

I tried downloading iTunes, my connection maxed at 600KB/sec for a VIP5 package. Anyone on 10MB or 20MB package can shed some light if they get higher speed ?

Note : Downloaded without IDM

Guys...
To pay the bill, which corporate name should i choose if i'm using public bank e-banking? From the guide HERE, only maybank2u is stated and the corporate name is Telekom Malaysia Berhad - UniFi while in PBeBank, I can only see TMNet and Telekom Malaysia Berhad(TMB). How to pay it? I don't wish to use my maybank account to pay because my maybank account contains my "spare"/emergency money... Don't wish to touch it! Enlighten me please, anyone who is paying using PBeBanking!! Thx!!

either you've set it as NG-mixed or wall too thick or time to consider another USB dongle .... tongue.gif

I've finally set up another computer with fresh Windows 7 SP1 install and TP-LINK N150 USB adapter and tested Windows single 2GB file copy. The Windows 7 SP1 source computer is connected to the router using 100Mbps Cat6 UTP and the destination computer was tested using both 100Mbps Cat5e UTP and the TP-LINK wireless adapter located about 1m from the router. Router was set to N300 mode with WPA2 AES security on channel 12.

The wired connection achieved around 90Mbps sustained while the wireless connection achieved around 80-85Mbps sustained. Will retry the test after the computer is placed at it's final location downstairs (distance about 5m straight line).

If Unifi is not listed separately in online banking site, don't use it to pay. Unifi is still separate payment system than the rest of TM. Unifi is not even accepted for TM Autopay or the TMpoint payment kiosks. What I currently do is wait until I am 2 months overdue and go to TMpoint and pay 4 months.
