as long as there's sufficient ventilation, i.e. not in a closed room, your modem should b good.
my modem is located at the living room side table, plenty of cooling |

Hey guys, I am getting UniFi next wednesday, can anyone tell me what to expect? Eg how many power socket will I need, how it's done, need table or rack for the stuff etc.?

You'll need a power extender. You'll be using 2 power slots, 1 for router and 1 for modem.
Oh ya, 1 more power slot for the TV decoder thing. |
