Was wondering whether we could actually, in anyway, retain our existing TM phone number instead of getting a new one. From the online application, it seems like it's not possible. Anyone done it b4?

may i know whether the rm200 installation fee waived by TM includes any extension and drilling for wiring for landed properties? I am worried there's xtra charges for those things on top of the rm200 waived.

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Mar 26 2011, 02:03 PM) They will still charge you if extra cables are required. wat does xtra here mean? do they have standard length tats considered free? if any case, if xtra length is indeed required, how much is the rate we are talking about here, per meter? and we sort of need to pay no matter wat right, since they r the only one doing it...?

QUOTE(jAkUn @ Mar 27 2011, 12:22 AM) climbing the roof also includes lay cables + drilling + workmanship and all until to FWS. so in a normal installation w/o climbing, drilling will be free. thx for the info bro, i know it's abit 'late' to ask this but don't u guys think this is a rip off? Installation of a high speed broadband tat costs hundreds of ringgit? wats worse, everyone (landed property owners) has no clue tat there's extra charges on top of the so called free rm200 installation fee. i cant imagine wat the fee would b like if there's no promotion on the 'free rm200 installation fee'.

QUOTE(ultraman259 @ Mar 27 2011, 09:59 PM) Aiya... Why like that one? I'm trying not to be so kiasu. I wanted to try VIP5 but since there's a download limit, if every month I exceed the download limit, die lorh.. Need to change to BIZ5. But if I don't exceed, it's fine one.. I'm heavy in streaming and downloading stuff and there are also other 3 people in the house... Should I just get BIZ5? i tot there's no download limit for now?

QUOTE(VerM @ Mar 28 2011, 09:02 AM) for now yes... for the foreseable future no.... ok. damn, i'm still thinking whether to have unifi or not given the fact of the expensive installation fee. if i have made appointment with them this week but they have yet to call me to confirm about the exact date, is it possible to cancel it? Just to ask again, anyone here from BU mind sharing how much is the installation fee? This post has been edited by janson_kaniaz: Mar 28 2011, 09:15 AM

how much usually is the climbing part?
and your modem is on ground floor or 1st floor of the living room, assuming your house is a 2 storey one.

QUOTE(Something Else @ Mar 30 2011, 07:28 PM) Just installed my unifi, and my download speed is pathetic. Tried everything, restarting modem..different computers, different speedtests. Still the same. The installers couldn't figure out the problem either and said that it was TM's problem or something like that. On a positive note, I notice that my torrents pick up speed ALOT faster compared to when I was using streamyx. Although my current speed is the same as my old streamyx lol. location?

For all vip5 users here when u say u r getting 0.8-1.5 mb of dl, u mean to say it's Mbps or mb/s. If it's Mbps I need to divide by 8 right to get the dl speed?

guys, i also noticed yesterday tat my speed dropped from 4-5MB (<7pm) to 1-2MB (>8pm). Speed decreasing at night is quite common when i had Streamyx as well. So should we b complaining to TM about this peak hour decrease in speed?
