at the moment, its better to keep track and records every changes in your speed and send it to unifi@tm.com.my so that u can show the proof that u are having unstable speed. later on, after issues resolved ask for rebate.. profit!

agreed, probably connection to the seeder/peer was reset

i hv no major problem with unifi just yet... only sometimes direct download from filehosting provider (premium) was not up to speed... occasionally i have to reset (or stop and on again) the downloading or if i'm in no mood i simply reboot the router for fresh ip...

p/s: i stop use torrent a couple of years back (when the p2p throttle issue first arise). These days i rarely download anything even when i'm currently on vip20...but when there is a need i.e freebsd8.2, it was excellent... did it in less than 10mins...

apparently the router itself is having difficulty recognizing its own public ip address...

since i dont have time to test openvpn (a bit lazy to play around with the settings) i'm just gonna use my existing freebsd (virtual) to test portforwarding

in my case, i simply want to ssh from extenal server to my box... but for some reason i cant use port 22 as public port so i just use 2222...

private port remain 22 (changing to different number requires me to change the sshd listening port)

as mentioned above put your lan ip and make sure the related services is running such as sshd...

google any public portscan tool and test your public ip with port 2222

try ssh from external server
CODE
ssh user@publicIP -p 2222

so to kiwlm, adjust accordingly for your openvpn server

and thanks to dimenxion for this tips

i think it is also possibe for you to still use the same listening port for all other devices (if you happened to have multiple device using same listening port). for example RDP connections. i think you can change the WAN port to other number and remain the private port as it is. so for me logically the external connection will come in as 3390 (for example) and when it come into the LAN it will translate as 3389. this works on modem/router that i had ever configured (cisco, etc) so i guess it should work this dlink as well

RS/HF/MU? Most of the filehoster always got problems and can't even determine the fault was either from our side/TM side/filehoster side. U use DDL using any download manager?

well, on VIP20 torrent usage or p2p throttle is not the issues since u can squeeze the speeds in no time. freebsd seeding is always fast bro.

yes, the external port can be the same i think since its purpose is only to listen for any connection to said port...the forwarding port will redirect the traffic accordingly to the internal server/ports...

this perhaps will cut down the number of external listening port (hence reducing number of open ports)...

yeah, i think dlink has a limited number of how many active session one can establish... perhaps forcing all 70+ threads (with perhaps min 10 active session per thread) will affect the whole downloading process...

i guess the filehoster could be blame for this... that's why i said its a minor problem... i use jdownloader

maybe i'll try torrent next time (or on next version of freebsd)... for the recent one i just direct download it from the server...
