i started to have those random crashes with 3 beeps since playing UC3. back then i thought it was the firmware 4.0.now ffxiii-2 made it worse.can't even play for a minute.and yes i can launch up till the menu and all.usually though,it crashes at the same point in the level of the game.other games ffxiii batman i could play no problem.

been reading around and many says its a sign for YLOD.logically thinking we surely would think its the game or firmware issues but i thoroughly search the net and lot of ppl says its YLOd in the making due to hardware problems.

so new ps3 it is :-/

What are the tips to prevent ylod? I have a slim 320gb.

Don't have the game

I dont think it is the game's problem. Previously my phat PS3's fan was already quite loud even in air-cond room, almost like it is wailing and there were no dusts clogging the vents too. Maybe it just decided to give up finally.
Anyway, I have gotten a Lightning Ver2 PS3 as replacement, cant find reasonably priced red or blue PS3 in Penang. My phat PS3 will be my full-time blue-ray player from now on.

yeah, but i think urs still in early stage, mine straightly shutdown and unable to open anymore even after i leave it few hours...

try giv it as cool as possible is wat i think, some ppl said make it stand vertical can let it cooler and stay away from everyside 4CM if i not mistaken if possible as far as possible from anything, especially wall, for my fren he straightly use fan blew from behind to inside and wat i think this method is very bad, because based on theoritically it will juz blew all the hot air back inside and cause the things inside more hot, but wat my fren said it is much cooler, anyway is up to u to decide wat to do wit it ^^ this is juz my suggestion, i did vertically and give a special space for it... anyway after warranty each year u can take to deyamato to maintain by changing the thermal, i not sure this will totally prevent YLOD, but at least it will help at least a bit.

I bought it at RM1100 console only without the game and the soundtrack.
At 1st thought of getting the console from Sony Malaysia but the price increase from RM1099 to RM1199 and their workers told me there is a global price hike...wth? I know there are no price increase announced at all, it is just Sony Malaysia that are increasing the price only...

lol you misunderstood me, I should have state it clearer....I meant I went to a Sony Centre 1st, but they are selling normal black or white MY PS3 at RM1199. So I went to a normal gameshop instead, getting the SG set at RM1100.

of coz, tats y i said have to make a distance between the wall to let ventilation better...

owh cheh... of coz sony centre confirm will sell more expensive than outside, but there is always a benefit to get it from Malaysia sony centre tat is u pay extra 100-200 u will get warranty from malaysia sony centre...

100% gpu problem , and not all ps3 is the same RSX model to replace which like different region; i did tried replace 1 forumer succesfully

Editted: gpu rsx got different chipset model , the rest output is see region. My mistake.

for computer i can confirm is GPU going to die, for PS3 maybe is the same... XD

Shoot... now BD-ROM suddenly don't want to read disc
Any clues? Tried swapping drives, didn't help. Tried full/quick format, didn't help.

BD-rom cannot be swap,its like your drive isn't married to your motherboard, your Drive controller board is. therefore you can swap lens and trays out no problem.

which means father recognize son ,only can work together.

and theres a single lens and double lens model,you can try dissassemble it take a look.
