give 100 fan also useless,face the most important is gpu inside. , for those phat ps3 user its time to get slim lol. i received alot feedback its all about firmware and new games effected will give problem occur ylod again even do reballing gpu also depends on luck sometimes can tahan for 1hour or 1 month only(even you send to sony help also they cant do anything) their recertified phat ps3 from sg also useless the turbo fan always appear but wont shutdown(dont tell me about thermal paste whatever-any-branded will work its actually the same).not like back to lastime 3.41 firmware after fix ylod its totally like permanent fix but for now can cry waste time to fix

Trust me, ylod will come back anytime for only phat version ,unless u maintain before ylod appear do every 6/12month replace a new thermal (all thermal compound its the same),but still depends ,wont be last long depending what game u play.

try to notice theres a warning sign on top right "Overheating please shutdown immediately" , how old is your ps3? did maintain service before?

yes,theres a error msg when u gaming can see "warning message:Your system has become hot" this is what we so called early sign of ylod . so before got auto shutdown quickly turn off and check your gpu thermal-paste izit hardened dried-cracked.

i got 1 solution just to share everyone what i always do how to clean dust from some vent holes trick and also help to blow away the heat after when u stop playing ps3.

Read the disclaimer before you do , technical job always do .



For Slim just unplug the power cable instead of turning off the switch on the Fat one

somehow the fan test is most likely a diagnostic tool for Sony to test stuffs, anyway it's fine, it won't remove all dust, but it will help slightly; just don't do the one requiring you to flip your console upside down.that can spoil your system.

thats rumour, so far no problem for me . thats why i said read disclaimer lol.

the another thing sucks is sony release recertified slim ps3 with only few month warranty or not even 1 day .

means the factory still can build refurbished ps3 slim set just let go with no warranty whoever purchase.

for lastime (version 3.xx) repair YLOD is permanent fix,but now

to those who fixing 2nd time YLOD wont be last longer most of phat user after fix they do backup then just let go and get slim set.

yeah,now you know why so many phat ps3 so weak now;you play multiplayer even worse cant stable the performance.

few games are killing which is:
Battlefield 3
Uncharted 3(naughty dog forum alot complaints)
Modern Warfare 3

not sure the rest upcoming.

FYI,its the same before reflow or after reflow . and what flux ure using ? if brown flux please dont use that will dirty your gpu die faster.

slim set no need to worry different chipset between phat unit;can play last long 3-4 years without service ,but still better at least service 1 year once lifespan longer .

100% gpu problem , and not all ps3 is the same RSX model to replace which like different region; i did tried replace 1 forumer succesfully

BD-rom cannot be swap,its like your drive isn't married to your motherboard, your Drive controller board is. therefore you can swap lens and trays out no problem.

which means father recognize son ,only can work together.

and theres a single lens and double lens model,you can try dissassemble it take a look.
