bullshit my ps3 in on vertical mode since day 1

I guess it doesn't even matter on how your ps3 is place (i.e Vertically or Horizontally). In the end it still matter on the hardware and how the users treat thier machines

i not sure bout tat... yeah true blow the fan into the vent makes things worst, coz the heat nid to be released from there.

hmm... i'm 1 of them i dont play it often, but when i'm free to play i might start it from morning to night? of coz there is some break for my ps3, perhaps like 2-3 between?

yeah exactly still slim is better although the design sucks for me... XD

some said it concern, but still the most concern prob is how u release the heat in the ps3, as long as your ps3 can release the heat well then u won't easily affected YLOD. YLOD is all cause by overheating.

for 1 year ive been abusing my ps3 since 24/7 yes 24/7
i did not have class for 1 year period only doing project at home
basically i dun do my project but i play ps3... start from 7am after i send my wife to work will play till 12 then off ps3 for an hour for lunch n pray then play again till 5 to fetch my wife then cont play till 11-12...

still working like new

I actually love the Phat look. That's why I bought a refurb one.

Maybe after slim drop below RM1k, i'll get it.

Open case may shorten your PS3 life ler...all the dust will collect on it

great. now my ps3 is broken too. play my ps3 (phat, 80GB Malaysian Set) for 1 hour only and only 3-4 times a week but still affected by YLOD. i have try to call sony but their customer service is really sucks..i dont like the way they treat their customer.

Is it CECHL03? If yes, then I'm doom. I also got phat model CECHL03. Are you putting your PS3 vertical or horizontal?

btw mine 80G phat malaysian set too...my phat now frequently auto shutdown on a heavy duty game like uncharted 2...

i'm not sure bro. i have sent my ps3 to bernard (gamers solution pertama complex) to repair it.right now i just hope that he is able to repair it so i can play my ps3 for another 1 month before i buy a new slim set.

i put my console horizontally and give quiet amount of space for my ps3 to breath. i didnt put a fan to it since i only play 1 hour a day ( i do play uncharted for 2-3 hours max but it was a very long time ago).

my ps3 lifespan? 1 year and 6 month. my xenon XBOX 360 has longer lifespan than this shiny paper weigth.

mine phat 40gb SG set n slim 320 msia set..

all u can do to prevent is make sure don't block the air ventilation..if u block ur ps3 will be hot n nnt ada bunyi kipas yg kuat (prnh terasa dulu)..after that letak la yg angin lalu ok skit ke apa..

I playing Uncharted 2 now. Still not shudown after 2 hours. Hopefully it stay that way

I heard 40GB PS3 sure kena one.

i think i'll put fan and blow away the heat to be safe...

agree bro..luck do play a role (maybe a little bit). i'm planning to buy a slim set next month and it will be my third ps3. 1 60gb PAL ps3 (still usable and give it to my brother), 80 GB Malaysian Set (faktap already) and planning to get a slim one next month (not enough fund at the moment).

i planning to buy a new slim too after my ps3 warranty is over and it still spoil...

currently in egypt, if anything goes wrong to the ps3, i got nowhere to go amazingly the ps3 did work silently even when playing uncharted 2, it may be due to cold weather(its spring and the temp still below17) .. Malaysia is too hot for this thing + hardcore gamer, no way this thing can survive..sony should really put an effort developing hardware catered for people who lives in equatorial region.

dudes, sorry to interrupt and also if this is off topic. I'm about to buy a ps3 phat recond because i like its LOOK but many have adviced againts that due to its technical problems ie ylod, red screen etc how i wish i could put the internals of the ps3 slim model into the body of the phat...i guess thats the only way to have the LOOK of the phat but the REALIBILITY of the slim model lol
