QUOTE(Pain_X @ Feb 1 2011, 05:50 PM) Andy Carroll says Newcastle forced him out for the money which is why i am not so happy when fans, Newcastle or other club's alike, criticizes him saying he is not loyal after professing his loyalty. I mean Torres made it public he handed a transfer request after just recently said wanna stay in Liverpool for a long time, and whether u think that act is treachery or not that is open to discussion. But for Carroll's case, there are conflicting claims. while i wont so fast defend Carroll, i think there needs to be more info gathered, whether he is forced out or really handed a transfer request. One of them gotta be a lie and that guilty part will be branded a liar. I know this isnt man utd related but just thought i would share. Andy Carroll says he didnt want to leave and mike ashley forced him out to get money. He has to be one of the worst owners ever. Source Personally at this point of time, i would quite believe it is the owners who are lying because no news of him wanting to leave at all, not even after the Torres saga started. The only time his name was mentioned is after Liverpool tried to buy him when it is pretty certain Torres will leave (about 12 hours from the close of window). Then only newcastle release a statement saying he was sold to Liverpool, with him handing a transfer request. Very dubious if u ask me. |

Newcastle didn't even get a proper replacement for Andy Carroll, and probably wants to rely on the youngsters (Leon Best and co) and Shola Ameobi. |

It's very easy to demand of other people, without demanding the same thing from ourselves. Even amongst our own fans, there are many people who like to talk so much about loyalty, but don't think twice about throwing that player away if they don't like him.

any line up prediction?
VDS JOS Rio Vidic Evra Nani Scholes Fletcher Park? Hernandez Berbatov Sub: Anders, Smalling, Giggs, Owen, Rooney, Rafael, Anderson Villa is quite a physical side (Agbonlahor + Bent) hence JOS getting the nod from me vs Rafael. not to forget Young and Albrighton in the wings |

Although, I must say that I am still bitter over Rooney. I will support him as long as he don the colors but I don't think I could trust him after the fiasco earlier of the season. That is my opinion. It will take a lot of him to win me back. Anyways, on lineup tonight. Back four could be back. Showed on SSN last night and from Fergie's interview last week. I reckon that we will be putting out a strong team. I hope Carrick is back. Definitely would love to see Scholesy to partner him. Which means Giggsy and Nani on the flanks. Berbatov and Rooney to lead the line again. |

Theres a saying, one can forgive but cannot forget. When i see Rooney playing, what i want him to do on field now is no difference to before his saga. i still want him to score, i still celebrate when he sticks his header into the goal just 1 minute into the new year's game. Before this i rank him alongside Giggs and Scholes as those player that will remain at Man Utd because they cant bear to leave, but now i would just take it as he is willing to remain here because he is happy here, thats all. just like other important players like Evra, Carrick etc.
U gotta admit, the motivation of other players to remain at united is a bit different as to why Giggs, Scholes and Neville is staying. 1 is because they enjoy playing football at United, the other is simply because..they cant bear to even think of leaving. dont get me wrong, i am not saying the others are useless. Both is good in their own ways, but the later is a bit more "legend" material if u wanna put it It's like a wife and a mother...u love ur wife but if things goes sour there might be a divorce. But a mother, you cant hate her no matter what, you just cant bear to dislike. |

Speaking of tonight's game, anybody know of any place in Subang Jaya suitable to watch the game? I'm worried my regular haunt won't be open at that late hour.

Frankly, I do not care much for loyalty among the players. Players come and go, no player is bigger than the club. They are professionals, just like in the workplace people do resign or or asked to go.I have been supporting the club for a very long time, if I don't like a player's performance during a particular game, I think I should be able to say it out. Nothing wrong with that IMO, and we should tolerate discussions on poor performances while sticking to the forum rules i.e. no name calling on the players etc. |

Nothing wrong with stating what you guys see. But then as the other failures have shown, give it a bit more time especially when that guy is young. There's plenty players in the current side which shows that a bit of patience is needed for them to grow. If anyone don't rate the guy to make it a the club in the long run, fair enough. That's their opinion after all. But don't use that to cloud the view. Like with Gibbo against Blackpool wasn't it. Whole side was bad in that first half, but he's the one getting much of the blame as though his mere presence on the pitch makes everyone turn bad.

QUOTE(mhyug @ Feb 1 2011, 08:55 PM) but naming the greatest MU player will always be an injustice to some. For example, quoted from RoM, players like Robbo, Denis Law etc not in top 10? Somehow the top 10 is a bit skewed to the modern footballers, with only 2 of the 10 is pre-EPL players. I however still think the no1 spot is rightly given, no matter in what era |
