No and Yes. Bluetooth can tranfer files. But only to the i-family product only
No. After jailbreak. Facetime can use 3G as well through 3rd party apps I think.
Retina display is good enough. No need always SuperAMOLED.
Livewallpaper....SGS has limited nice wallpapers. Those from Samsung is excellent. But from other source.....Duh!!!
I don't know. I just wanna put my SGS to the full potential so that when I show it to my friend, they are the one to think that they should get SGS. Not the other way round.....Do you understand me?
I choosed SGS because I really thought that it's a great phone.....But now, it doesn't seem to me to be like that.....Can anyone help me to change that perception?
*
1) Transferring ONLY between the i-family product is already one of the CONs.
2) Still, it's through Wi-Fi/Data plan right? Not like SGS, can make 3G calls directly without any apps.
3/4) if you like Retina display and not superAMOLED why choosing it at the first place?

A lot of my friends who bought iphone DO NOT know these limitations. After buying it, they have to live with its limitations, but they do enjoy the simplicity and ease of use.

So, if you are looking for a simple phone, go for IPhone. If you are more technology savvy and wants a complex and great functional phone, get the SGS.

JUst my 2 cents...

I agree, a lot of people buy iphone just for the sake of the brand. Tech savvy people chooses android because they know it is more capable.

I hope once the iphone enthusiasm wanes, more people will choose android for its capabilities. It is up to people like us to educate.

1. Bluetooth - shows how restrictive and money hungry apple is. They squeeze every last bit of penny from you to only buy from apple-licenced products.
2. Yes, can facetime after jailbreak - which will void warranty.
3. Both retina display and super amoled are way better than other types of display in the market. RD is sharper, super amoled color is more vibrant.
4. Go to http://market.android.com look under live wallpaper. there are plenty of cool ones.

I'm sure as you learn using the phone, you'll discover more about it, and brag to your friends wink.gif

I want to add one more, google goggles http://www.appbrain.com/app/google-goggles...oid.apps.unveil can use it to solve sudoku!

it is featured on one of the android news blog. I don't use it because it is only for windows. Since it can sync photos, music, videos, I can't see why it can't transfer apk files to your sd card. Why don't you try and tell us about it?

i think what you really need is the SNAP and GO by our very own samsung apps, no need cable but you do need wifi though, both you and the phone need to connect to the same wifi, snap with camera what you want and it will automaticly transfer the file,

all you need to do is install both the apps on your computer and phone, no need to do other setting, all is automatic

Strange to my SGS also, can't download after click the app. Wifi checked and seem OK.
This also happened my others apps, like, Adobe Flash, Market keep display downloading and keep display the downloading screen.
Some apps after completed download but unable install successfully. This happen to many custom ROm that i flashed b4, like, Darky, Kitchen and Sconcau ROM that i using now.
Anyone here encounted this problem b4?
I'm asking the file transfer app coz i still remember someone have memtioned (sorry, i forgot who and where is it in the thread) you can use the app to build 'ftp' on PC and use it to transfer the files between PC and Phone.
Edit: @silentser, where could i download since i uninstalled Samsung Apps already? Thx!

Odd, both of my keyboards are working well. Did you install gbkb from insanity thread page or from other source?

I get it from this post. I've also tried the other method available on xda. Its ok. I'll try to reflash back the rom and see how it does.

my personal opinion... i like doc's its stable and snappier... used to be on darky's but after going bright not really fond of going back into the dark... XD

darky is more newb friendly, and it has a lot of functions built in directly, without themes u can have 4 lockscreens available, and so on...

doc's u need to use a kitchen to cook the custom ROM, i think its nice since u get to choose what is included and which CSC, Modem, and PDA to match... without any themes on Doc its really fast...

Seems like jd4eva is having the same problem as mine.

@Gmhafiz thank you so much for your helping hands and patience. May I know which Rom and Kernel are the most stable and smooth? I have zero knowledge on custom rom. If I'm rooting for the first time. Titanium backup just won't work, right? Wat should I use then? My backup pro (I'm willing to pay if it's good)

@kcwo May I know what custom rom u r using?
*
Hi Star_Knight79, I just migrated from Darky to Doc Kitchen rom. Both rom are great and depend on your taste. You can try to hardcore kernel first before you start flashing to custom rom. I still learning from our sifu here. My advice is prepared your homemade jig before you start. I experience stuck at USB/PC screen and can not boot into neither Recovery nor download screen. Make me sweating. sweat.gif

Hi guys,

For those on Doc's XWJS3, do you face this issue?

When you pull down the notifications menu, some of the texts are Black in colour and because the background colour is black, you can't see the text.

Example, the info on Lookout Mobile Security, or when downloading music using Gtunes, the text of the notification status can't be read...hope you understand what I mean...

I tried different themes, ie Doc's Theme, R64, Cozmic, Generation X and still have the same problem.

I flashed to Darky 9.1, the notification menu has a light grey background, so I can see the blacktext.

The stock theme also has a grey notification background but a bit boring....

Any idea how to solve this? Is there an option for me to change text to White?

Thanks

i used to have this problem if i flashed a theme like gingermix v4... its very annoying with all the transparent notification background... would rather use the stock 1...
