guys noob question,do really need external sd card before flashing?coz i,m rooting and check bootloader already and now ready to flashing new rom..

It'll be a good idea.... a very good idea ;-) Especially if you're planning to use the CWM/EXT4 based ROMS....

However, if you're planning to flash the ROTO-based ROMs, there's not much of a need for it, as it'll be done via ODIN.

But having an external SD card helps in a lot of other situations.... so, spend a few bucks and get a good one.

Yup... Stock ROM > Modaco Kernel EXT4 without ROM > OC 1.2.0

So Im on EXT4 now.

BTW, when you said it can't detect your internal SD... there's nothing there?

Could you describe the steps you did? In the reflashing process I mean...

OK... If you're comfortable with losing the data (I assume you've done a nandroid backup already)

Why don't you reboot back into recovery... do a full data wipe (including cache/dalvik, etc)

and reflash OC 1.2 again?

I've wiped everything before I flash OC1.2.0. So I've also wipe all the data in my internal SD.

Now that in the Setting menu, when I put in/remove External SD, I can see the notification message there. But when I click on Mount, nothing just happen.

Yup, I have backup all data so not afraid losing any data in Application Memory, Internal SD and even External SD. Its all empty as I tried to do a clean flash.

Haha.. now its as clean as I cant even see both my SD now. I will try to reflash OC1.2.0 again and see.

Yeah that's interesting. I remembered reading about this particular issue just late last night, and for the life of me, can't seem to find it now.

I'm doing a clean wipe now and reflashing OC1.2.0 now...

Let me see if I come across it....

You need the external sd card if you want to flash kernel change to ext4. Once you convert to ext4 you can use the recovery to flash new roms which must be placed on ext sd card

If you flash rom using ODIN, no need to have ext sd card

Flashed again also the same. damn......

If you lose you internal sd card you must reflash rom using odin 1.7. Select repartition, PIT and PDA. Use rotohammer jmi to revive the internal sd card. Then only proceed to do modaco recovery n est4 change. then use recovery to flash again overcome 1.2

Additional info : If you notice that that modem not working ( ie no GPRS, 3G detected ) after flash Overcome 1.2, flash the modem file too when flashing JMI just as a extra measure. Save you trouble the second time to flash again using Odin. You can use this JMF modem file:

So far, recorded 109 users for the TAB. Wonder how many of them are still using it ??

@Benny : this is what i did. But at default 1 ghz, the batttery was 36deg and not the usual 30deg (when i went back to modaco kernel for a couple of days last week). What has gone wrong? maybe i need to hard reset ? which is the messy loh.

Come to think of it , I didn't shut down after wiping caches etc in cwm, I went straight to flash full overcome zip. Is that the problem?

True, but I have yet to see any great number of the users I recorded selling off in this forum ( solely based on their nickname) . There are two users I noted who has sold it. These two who had sold, apparently is still using it based on their queries they have been posting in this thread. Maybe they are resellers themselves selling off the extra units. I noted also many of the sales are actually units contracted with telco and the sellers is just trying to resell it at a profit

Added on March 1, 2011, 3:41 pmProbably 'cos I would think a shutdown will complete the cleaning process. The higher temperature was distracting to me. I was worry probably due to my frequent flashing and testing of kernels plus O/C, my sensors were affected. But I was proven wrong. Everything is now back to normal. When not in used, my TAB records average 28 to 30 degree .
I have read ( forgot the link ) it is still alright for the TAB to hit mid 40 to 50 degree in temperature but I just don't feel confortable seeing such numbers. Anyway I don't use graphic intensive apps and don't play games, so the over-clocking tests is only an academic exercise to satisfy my curiosity

How to get the battery percentage appear at the top bar?

I've definitely done nothing, on and off, on and off, and both the internal sd and external sd now can be accessed.

That is also what others have reported in XDA forum. It comes back for no reason.
