BTW how to use the asus ai charger? Anybody used it and manage to get it to work? I installed it but the tab still cant be charged from usb port.

Easiest way is look for SME logo around the tab or on your accessories . Ori or SME units will normally have this sticker . Pls correct me if I'm wrong especially traders

Added on April 1, 2011, 1:20 amBro , any prob on your Overcome ? Currently using 1.4.2 but my bt is going beserk with this version . Ringtones can b heard from the bt but the minute i answer the call , its on speaker n i cant switch it back to bt . No prob if I'm the one making the calls , only if I'm answering .

I didn't test for calls though, because I'm using Celcom broadband simcard inside my Tab.

Overall it's quite ok to me. So far no problems encountered.

Oh yeah, anybody played Pocket Legends MMO on their Tab? I would like to know how long the battery last from 100% till it's off when playing that game. Seems like I got around 4 to 5 hours or so on low brightness (not the lowest brightness though) with wifi on.

Well, I can't blame you guys for since digi is working fine on you. Good for you then.

My bad for not making it clearly. Last few weekend when I was in Shah Alam it was working fine. That's the only place that digi 3g is working without problem for me. So far I've tested many places in Penang and all are same. So well, you are lucky if yours is working fine! You have better luck than I am.

Oh, fyi, Im talking about Tab ONLY. I didn't say its not working on other phone as well, did I? My same simcard at the same spot works very fine with my other smartphones and my iPhones too.

And if u still think I am making blanket statement, then just be it. But well if u read back the post, I am not the only one facing the problem. Or am I left in the dark that I am the only having problem?

Added on April 1, 2011, 3:47 amYo bro! Digi 3g data keep dropping. It always timeout then disconnect and reconnect back itself. U will see the 3g/H logo lost and come back. Maxis and celcom working fine, digi 2g also fine.

I think u have a faulty phone then a sim card or some configuration u miss out, i base in PG, bayan lepas, George town, BM, prai and very frequent travel (PG - KL (once per week)-SG once permonth) but i don't seem like having any trouble with DIGI sim .....


It seem like u diagnose ur sim card with other phone and it work well but u still complaint abt the sim card ? i do wonder ....

Good to know bout this! Hmmm, ya, its very pathetic and could probably true bout my unit is faulty. I've brought to Samsung and they told me the same thing, I'm not the only one facing problem with digi. So I go back to digi and they have replaced a new simcard for me but the problem still there. Last time when using stock rom already have this problem, then later upgraded to newer stock rom and now on overcome but the problem still there.

In digi email, they admit its that my location has no full 3g coverage but it in fact funny coz my other phone on digi 3g running at around 800kbps.

So, its still unresolved til now. Gonna change a maxis sim to use with it soon. Maxis speed test is hitting 4Mbps at my area and no data drop.

Anyway, thanks for the location sharing.

there is no SME sticker at all...he told me this is ori and i dunno how to verify what he said is true...send it to Samsung center to ask? there is only iSmart distributor sticker on my phone....
can any trader help me?

Just check your firmware but if you have bought it sealed new and boots up Vodaphone, it is obviously not SME set. There are many 3rd party imports or so called AP sets
M'sian SME sets firmware are DZ and DX . You can compare your firmware code with the listing in post#1 and you will know country of origin of your set

Hi all...

Any suggestion on how to nicely put a custom image as wallpaper? As I previously tried, the image will be super big and it wont fit as wallpaper i.e. only some part of the image appeared while major portion of it is not. I have tried crop and resize the image based on template (links: template 1 and template 2) but no luck. Other than that, some wallpaper apps ("wallpaper set and save","multipicture live wallpaper") also cant do the job.

damn...he must have cheated me as it boot up with vodafone logo...once confirmed, i will tell you guys who is it and don't ever buy from him...

To check your TAB’s firmware : Launch Phone and Dial *#1234#
Look for PDA - it should read , for example my set P1000......
Important are the 2 alphabets after 1000
Msian sets will be DX or DZ

If you see others, refer post #1 listing to check

This is T-Mobile Vodaphone - US or UK set . And check whether your sets can make calls as as far as I know US sets phone call is disabled. You need to flash a new rom and than several other steps to enable phone calls

i can make call with it and it is UK unit i guess.
now i am asking the seller what he can do to solve this problem..if he can give back my money and sell it as ap set, i will not name anyone here...i do not want to destroy anyone reputation in the forum...

Benny, i paid rm1850...as he told me is ori so i just bought from him...difference not much...but i kenna conned kaw kaw...

i can get AP for 1450....there is another forumner here is selling this price and i believe he is an honest seller....regret did not buy from him....
