Yeah, the reason you got stuck with at the Bootscreen, is because our asian partition ain't included in the intram.fs of the current kernel.

What I suggest you do is to backup your data (sms/pictures/etc... and copy it to your external sd/desktop) as well as your apps (via titanium backup) Do remember to move your titianium backup to your external sd after that! If not it'll be wiped.

Get the pit file from the first post of the Overcome thread & Roto-JME-Full-v4. Do a clean repartition, and just reinstall Overcome 1.2.0 and then the 1.2.2 update (which will have the 2.0 non-OC kernel) If you want to OC, then flash the 2.0 OC/UV kernel after that...
*
What is "intram.fs" as mentioned?
I also upgrade from Overcome 1.2.1 but without problem as basSist facing, strange?
BTW, i checked my Kernel version and found "2.6.32.9 frank@OVERCOME #96" but not #95 as basSist said?

Edit: Just found out #96 was non OC Kernel.

then i will just remain in the kernel 1.0. wait for overcome 2.0.0~
*
Hahaha...no worries mate. It's alright to remain at 1.0.

Looking at his latest post, ROM 2.0 might take a while longer. Seem's he's changing direction, and as such... might be a while.

Well, 1.0 with 1.2.x is still kinda nice.

Yeah, there were a few versions of the kernel that was uploaded/taken down/uploaded again. Don't worry, as long as the kernel number is above #45, which is 1.0, you're fine.

You've got the 2.x version of the CWM, with the Voodoo lagfix/more streamlined ext4 conversion with 2.0, which makes it a bit more smoother and faster.

As to why bassist is facing and you did not... did you by any chance flashed to roto's rom before? I think in the process, your partition image might have match the ones in the later kernels he updated with, which is basically the intram.fs table alterbridge was referring to.

I had the same problem bassist was facing too... which got me to troubleshooting with alterbrigde regarding the kernel.

Ah.... that's why! stock -> 2.0.... craps out! Anyway, hang on, I think alterbridge has finally solved it. Testing his pre-release now. I'll holler when he releases it.

Nono.... ;-)

What I meant... yeah, stock straight to overcome, not just 2.0, usually results in that...

That means, somewhere along the line, like myself, you didn't repartition before. Anyway.... this is going to be moot soon.

The new kernels tested out fine... and theoretically, you should be able to flash it soon, without a hitch. But should you get stuck, you can always re-ODIN back to 1.0...

He's pulled the older kernels now... and should be uploading it soon...

To be honest, I'm not the best person to ask about that... really clueless about that when alterbridge explained it to me too! ;-)

Just his guinea pig who tends to know how to flash and reflash his way outta trouble!

I'm just an enthusiast with no CS/programming background... ;-)

No worries mate. We're all learning too... and we learn by asking what we don't know, right?

I usually just lurk around as most of the other members here are quite knowledgeable and are helpful too. Just that I tend to hang out more at XDA, and with regards to this kernel issue, I was slightly more involved... (just by being his testing guinea pig/giving feedback...) hence I thought I could help those in need.

That's what these forums/user-groups are for anyway, right?

I know he's uploading the newer kernels now... so, why don't you gander over later and reflash to 2.0.1?

Though basically the same thing, it'll help standardise things, whenever anyone needs to give support for issues...

Cheers mate.

In essence, nothing much... just a bux-fix release, to solve the "getting stuck" issues people were facing.

Well, I was testing the kernel with the developer... so I knew he was uploading it! That's why... ;-)

already upgraded to Overcome v1.2.2 yesterday...but v1.2.3 already available now...huhuhu...will upgrade my Tab today...

So far no problem with v1.2.2...except battery suddenly drop from 35% to 1% then shut down itself...wipe the battery stats in Recovery mode...then fully charged it...seems ok now...
