GUysz i would like to ask, issit actually safe to dust guinea pig fur with baby powder? I bought pureen's pure corn starch baby powder though...

but everywhere i search on google, everybody say its just pure bad to be applied on guinea pigs.... are they just being paranoid?

I have been bathing my guineapigs quite often because all of them suffer from massive static lice infestation... so was thinking of applying baby powder to help out

^ i did apply baby powder on them after bath.. just to keep the fur untangle.. but only appy on bottom la

they are not paranoid but it is the truth... if u jus apply to dry of the moisture.. then is ok... but during dusting avoid their nose, eye and mouth area... after tat... remember to dust it off.. as they gonna lick their fur which risking them ingesting the talcum powder

how to properly dust them off? Just comb their fur long long time? ><" i bought pure cornstarch de...hopefully not as poisonous hmm...

Mine runs around the cage like F1 drivers and jumping too.

yes they do that a lot

so they always run and jump at the same time?? I thought something is biting them or they are itchy that's why they jump and run.
and mine squeaks a lot...

yes. The jump callled popcorning. you can watch in youtube. search for popcorning/running laps guinea pig. if it is similar means they are happy

if they dun do tis kind of stunt, u will need to start worry...
mine squeaks once they sense i m around...
gv some veggie then will ignore me after that

active gp is good.. u dowan find ur gp lazy laying around doing nothing then u need to worry liau..

mine will popcorning after i clean their cage ~ they like it CLEAN

after clean cage very excited jumping around but after few days they only go downstair find food and water (cos the ground already wet and full of poo).

and guys, when u all feed cucumber do u all feed it with the seeds? Or u all take out the seeds?

need help~ ah G look down and not eating since this morning ( i put his fav hay in front he no even go smell it )

if this continue later i get home, i wanna take him to vets.. but where in penang does have a good small animal vet.. i am very scare becoz most of my fren small animal die after visiting vet ><"

how is he? Have you checked for all the signs? Wet chin? DIarrhea? stuffs like dat? Or his appearance all look perfectly normal? If all is normal maybe internal problem or he just emo, but better take him to the vet nevertheless

Jaroque, does ur gps mites problem ok already? Last time my gps also got mites and then using advantage 2 doses cure all already...and I change my bedding to paper based. My vet told me those owner tat use wood shaving tend to get mites because the wood treatment is not good enough.To avoid the mites keep attacking you need to clean all their stuffs with dettol and vineger....to kill all the eggs...Then separate the hay from their wood shavings cos sometimes hay itself also got tiny insects...and grow become big one like cockroaches...
My gps likes wet bedding i really dunno why...they just pee on it n then after a while it goes on top of the bedding and sleep...haiyo fainted ar see this situation. It have been 3 yrs no mites since i change the bedding but got a few cases choking...eating too fast...LOL

erm the mites problem is improving with vinegar bath solution and also Machiko Flea/Mites/Ticks Shampoo for Cats...hehe..and i finalyl found revolution in the pet shop here... may get one just incase haha..

but i've never used wood shavings oh, have always been newspaper..and now change to fleece! awesome absorbtion! My guinea pig kinda toilet trained..kinda...LOL...

I think my mites was because of the Hay i brought back...i went to horse ranch and take like..super fresh hay for free...big bags of them somemore lolsz!! wht to do...need keep feeding it, but now i feed pun no more mites... cause the shampoo state "Prevents Mites from coming back" so maybe it prevent lah haha

morning~~ yeah~ he start eating back yesterday night .. but only pallet .. bite abit bit the hay only.. i think he is emo. ><"

i planning to bring them both to medical check just in case .. i know some mite we cannot see tru eyes..so planning to birng them see vet this saturday.. worry me die

btw 1 question:-

can we give gp human vit c liq? ( those mean for kids) ? not like giving everyday.. but once a week.
as i cannot find gp vit c tablet/liq near my place..

I read a article said that human Vit c contain sugars so bad for their teeth but maybe can cut half of the dosage la...well, i bought the vit c from vet...when the gp emo...best thing is pet them more and give them more attention soon they will b back to normal again. Dun worry so much...
