Hi guys,

First of all please allow me to praise this fantastic trade. I have never owned a watch in my life (and I'm 26!) and have recently got interested in buying a watch.

My first choice was a Victorinox but after reading and going through this thread with a magnifying glass (there might have been some selective reading but I enjoyed every word), I stumbled upon the Oris BC3 DLC.

I saw the price in Mid Valley and it costs about RM3.1k. I'm not sure if Oris is a good brand per-say but it looks like a watch that I want, simple and clean looking.

Like everyone, i want my moneys worth. So could you guys please advise if the Oris BC3 DLC or if Oris is a good brand for a watch?

Thanks so much in advance. Please if there is any way I can contribute to this thread (with my 1.5% of knowledge of watches!) please do tell me.

Wow, as expected, the feedback was brilliant and way beyond what I was hoping for.

Thanks guys and after much consideration, I've set my priorities on buying the Oris (despite the detailing which i kind of get a grasp. Oris has lazy designers!)

The lowest I got was RM3.1k. Sadly, I can't read Chinese but I saw the pricing to be NT21k which converted should be about 2.2k/2.3k. How much would shipping cost?

Use google chrome for translation.
Drop them a mail and they will quote you in USD inclusive handling and shipping.
Myself and patryn have dealt with them.

Translated using google chrome, though is not 100% accurate.

Hi,

First time post in this thread. Quite impressed with what i read so far with such good sharing of the information among members . Keep it up guys thumbup.gif

I am going to survey for my first swiss watch's purchase for my wedding hantaran (getting married soon blush.gif )

Budget not much.. Range of RM 900 - 1.3K only.

I narrowed down my choice to these brands :

a) Tissot

b) Victorinox

c) Certina

Any shop around Sunway, Subang or Shah Alam which I can get a good price ? Saw one watch shop inside Sogo at Jalan TAR that carried Certina last month but I seldom venture into that area

Thanks for your suggestion / recommendation !!

Certina and Victorinox abit on the sporty side bro.
My 1st is a Tissot and you'll nvr go wrong be it quartz or mechanical.
Just my 2sen.

Am just wondering is there any watch box that will have periodic vibration or similar in nature that can maintain the movement of automatic watch if its not in use?

My dad has been complaining about the watch I gave him since he has to adjust the time whenever it has been idle for more than 1 day.

I have one: I'm selling for RM1,800... If you're keen and seriously interested I can give you very good price...

I don't own this watch but I own a hamilton watch
37mm watch - U like smaller watch?
anyway, it is on a eta 2824 workhorse movement. no decoration.
Hamilton should be a elaborated grade, concern with accuracy below is a chart on page 1 post 1.

if U are paying RM2.4K thats pretty expensive. I can get a ETA 2824 same grade cheaper but not with a well marketed brand like Hamilton.

page 1 post 1 does show a few watches that is in this size.
