hi guys, any idea about a watch as a gift for a 25-year-old graduate? budget ~1k, male. Steel bracelet is preferred.
any suggestion is welcomed... =)
*
with that budget, Seiko/Casio/Quartz Tissot should be okay. unless you friend is into designer watches..Fossil, Kenneth Cole, etc, etc... then not much difference, it a matter of style.

Very easy, not much different from local online purchase.
1. Saw what you like.
2. Email the seller.
3. If price and terms ok, then pay either by paypal, credit card, bank wire etc
4. Voila!

Further information, you can read their FAQ and Shipping and Handling.

r the website reliable? any1 tried it b4?

Pat,

The coupon that u mention frm ashford, I have nvr gotten one yet.
But does it valid for storewide purchases?
If it is, I will be waiting anxiously coz there's a piece that I'm aiming.
Pending selling my surpluses for funding.
And is 10% the most for a coupon discount you got?

Hi guys,

First of all please allow me to praise this fantastic trade. I have never owned a watch in my life (and I'm 26!) and have recently got interested in buying a watch.

My first choice was a Victorinox but after reading and going through this thread with a magnifying glass (there might have been some selective reading but I enjoyed every word), I stumbled upon the Oris BC3 DLC.

I saw the price in Mid Valley and it costs about RM3.1k. I'm not sure if Oris is a good brand per-say but it looks like a watch that I want, simple and clean looking.

Like everyone, i want my moneys worth. So could you guys please advise if the Oris BC3 DLC or if Oris is a good brand for a watch?

Thanks so much in advance. Please if there is any way I can contribute to this thread (with my 1.5% of knowledge of watches!) please do tell me.

1st of all, welcome bro.
2nd, if you're still interested in a Victorinox, I have one for sale.
Just chk my sig.
3rd, if Oris is the one that sings to you, then I suggest you go for it.
But I for one find Oris lacking in the finishings department.
Their movements have little or no finishing at all, just painted red and mind you their prices are not exactly entry level.
But still, whatever that floats your boat.
My 1st swiss watch is a Tissot so thats what I would recommend. Prices are acceptable. But that's just my 2sen.
Happy hunting!!!

u must have fall in love with the PVD that is an in thing today. Oris is a decent entry level brand, running on swatch's group ETA workhorse.
similar movement different brand prices are indeed much lower, some may even do more than Oris decorating the movements and U pay a small fraction of money on it. we do pay for the marketing and advertising.
if you gone thru page 1 post 1 and click on the links and oris design still sings to U, I say go for it.
I fact the above Baume and Mercier (part of Cartier group) Men's Riviera Watch Model#: MOAO8779 is a great deal it is on a ETA 2892. Oris is based on the cheaper ETA 2834.

Am just wondering is there any watch box that will have periodic vibration or similar in nature that can maintain the movement of automatic watch if its not in use?

My dad has been complaining about the watch I gave him since he has to adjust the time whenever it has been idle for more than 1 day.

China made ones are ok for normal use.
High end ones can cost as much as a BMW!!!
Ebay have plenty. Maybe other forummers have better places.

Ok what is the price I should be expecting? don't need too good as long as it gets the job done. I saw some in amazon for $50 ++, and its too pricy imo.

Yes, you can get Tag F1 pre-owned for less than 2k.
