I wouldn't mind taking a Suarez, but if Torres really wants to leave, probably we can pry Tevez.

I heard that Torres wanted to leave is due to Suarez. I think Torres scare will not get regular place in starting 11 after Suarez arrive. But Torres will never guarantee a regular place as well in Chelsea since Chelsea tactics isn't suitable for Torres, just the Chelsea rich boss admire Torres and want to take him to Stamford Bridge, that's all.

wow.. suarez looks very similar to drogba @ videos that skyz posted. if he can emulate the same performance in liverpool, getting into top 4 would be very realistic

i am actually surprised torres wants to leave. i thought the past 2 weeks he's been happy and found his form. what i dont understand even more is why the club decided to publish the transfer request rejection on the homepage. now, torres will face backlash from the fans. it wouldn't matter if we agreed to sell him. but now, the club have revealed the star player wants to leave, but at the same time the club dont wanna sell him. its a double whammy.

if he wants to go, sell him (35mil-40mil is good business). i highly doubt this is about him trying to get more money per week.

I dont think Suarez come here got anything to do with Torres leaving. Maybe he just want to make fast switch and assume later on everyone will forget about this conspiracy thing. IMO Torres wanna leave when Benitez left but he afraid when he leave people gonna say that he is coward because of our club situation. So he play safe by staying for a while. Now he got the feeling that our club gonna rise up again and its time for time for him to leave now or never.

Actually I do not know whether I should trust the 'Torres to hand in a transfer request' news. There isn't any quote that Torres has spoken in the news.
*
I totally agree with you.. The whole thing is just too weird. I mean the timing of the request, after Liverpool has sign a world class player in Suarez like Torres has been requested, and the fact that Torres committed his future to the reds when the 2 'lunatics' is still the owner. Now that Liverpool is in safe hands (both good owners and legendary manager which was his idol), I think it's very odd for him to think about leaving at time like this. Maybe, the agent? The media is stewing around? Or the Russian mafia tactics? It just doesn't make any sense even if the news is indeed true..

I think rationally, Torres had echoed about BIG SIGNINGS since the last probably 24 months and here we are haven't signed anything really big, except for the 'revival' of Poulsen and Meireles. Not sure about Konchensky.

BUt even if Torres wrote this NOT KNOWING SUAREZ is coming in, it still not something we can easily overlook.

I suspect the sudden change of tone from below 15M to almost immediate agreement of 22.5M for Suarez was because the club hit the 'red alert button' after being told that Liverpool F.C received Torres' transfer request.

Now we have Torres and Suarez, let's see how it goes.

If Suarez is a proven goalscorer, then Torres has to go. Alot of folks in RAWK are unhappy, and suddenly now people are now lining up behind Pepe Reina about loyalty. Probably Pepe could convince Torres for abit, since they're neighbours after all.

" Don't let your heads drop. We're Liverpool. You're playing for Liverpool. Don't forget that. You have to hold your heads high for the supporters. You have to do it for them. " Rafael Benitez 25th May 2005

Rafa, if you're reading this... COnvince Torres.

i agree & share your sentiments. Torres & even gerrard had pointed the need off on big signings under Gilette &Hicks but they did noting (no players in, just f*rking hot air of a new stadium), then comes roy p hougson who sanctioned some mid-table players & tried to incept mediocreness into LFc playing & setting low low standards for us to achieve. I understands his dissapointments (Its exactly whats in alonso's mind & marcherano as they saw what thee f*rking cowboys did.

selling torres is not what LFc should & will do. there is a crisis in torres head, what was his beloved team been tore apart by people who don't know football (which shd be all past now since new owners + KD is in the framework)

i will see how this plays out. Deep inside I believe he in 2 minds unlike MO. i'm sorry to drag that name but I'm drawing a parallel here. Torres is in the company of players who is assembled of the best of the best hence the world cup, the champion league & if we continue to drag ourselve to sign top notch players & have a mentality of seeking more 'Konchensky' then we shd forget the business of being in the top 4.

I believe more of those who were pro-rafa camp fans are the ones who feel torres should not be sold. torres , gerrard & pepe represents more than money to liverpool. THEY are "staunch" liverpoolfc at heart, removing (or selling) any of them (now) is akin a stab into the heart. though i see vultures (some from the camps of another red & some blue coming here, pouring more fuel that LFc shd cash in). kayNN

yes rafa's halftime rally in 2005 is much in need again. Probably rafa will call KD to give him some spainish proverb to untwist torres's mind.

king kenny wont put any one of his 20m+ rated goal scoring machines on the bench... 433 442 or 41212 can fit them in well... cant guarantee regular place, tis cant be a valid reason as he has been hoping for someone to share the burden on his shoulder to score goals...

The way I see it, I think Torres will only be allowed to leave in summer even if he insisted. We are fighting now and everyone knows that Torres is vital for us if we need to climb higher up the table. Thus, I can only see Torres leaves in summer...unless the owners are dumb enuff...then that's different story lar

That isn't that easy, Chelsea has been more on physical playing style while Torres is more on technic style, which will not work efficiently. This is just same with Drogba playing with Liverpool. But if Torres go to Arsenal, then I think the whole picture will totally be different. Anywhere, I hope Torres can be played for Liverpool and forget about the transfer.

I kinda dislike Chelsea the way they approached Torres, Chelsea should show some respect to Liverpool since Liverpool stand firm that Torres is not for sale.

We have to be careful here, the same can be accuse by blackpool on our enquiry on charlie adam.

it's business to them & chelsea is exploiting the situation of uncertainty at Lfc.

I trust this will blow away. torres needs some calm to sort things out. we need to accelarate our work to haul us forward. its not just about digging deep into lfc pockets (in past we never displayed the same range of the others) we aren't some oil mega rich sheik but work of a greater plan is needed.

please also dont dig up the arsenal type of spending. we never could pinch rare talent in the past nor groom quality players (which is why KD is readily to admit rafa was right to redo the academy). we arent the rosy big lights city where young talents crave for. (travel to london, manchester & go see the suburbs of liverpool, you will understand a little)

btw welcome abroad suarez. < a winning mentality type of player with huge passion. i think he & monster mascherano display the typical S.american passion

it happens, everywhere and every time. I wont be surprised if our club does it. mix the greed of agent and power of some players, its expected.
